i have problem in my vocal cord and doters says u may lose your voice some day and he suggest to not talk loud and not eat some kind of food because of reflux .now im pregnant and i dont know what to do should i keep the baby or not and what should do for treatment where should start .
I had a TIF Procedure 11 weeks ago and went back on PPI's after 8 weeks of worse symptoms than before. I am starting to see another Doctor who has had success with TIF he is going to start with an upper endoscopy this friday. I would like to hear from anyone who has had trouble and gotten help. I have been told it can be revised and reversed. I really don't want to have nissen unless I have to.
Hiatal Hernia not all the time show up at Xray, even at endoscopy.
If you are suspicious to have one, before you go to the Xrays or endoscopy be sure to make some effort ( running ,lifting, etc) , this way the chances are bigger to make it show up.
I had Esophyx one year ago, and now I'm feeling as bad as I was before it.
I do not recommend this intervention to anybody who is presuming to have a hiatal hernia, keep searching the Hiatal hernia till you're 100% sure about it.
I ended up by doing the procedure and now I regret.
Recently I had another endoscopy ,I have Hiatal hernia, and Only 3 Fasteners are still in place, others are gone.
@tigereltoro Had it done Dec 20th 2010 it didn't work for me back on PPI's going through tests now to see why. I've been told it can be revised and reversed. What have you heard or done since you found out yours didn't work.
Be wary of this procedure. I had it done and it turned into a horrible medical odyssey. Much of how it is marketed is to draw in the "average" heartburn sufferer who would not have otherwise chosen the surgical route. Really do your research on what criteria is being used to come up with 80-90% success claims.
@unccgreen Im sorry about the outcome of your surgery. I really hope your doing better now. Im mostly an lpr sufferrer but am still in a phase of searching all possibilities of what my symptoms might really be from. So, for now...surgery will have to hold until I know for sure whats goin on. Did you end up having a Nissen afterwards?
@arfx3 Hey there arfx3....I did end up having to do the Nissen. The really bad part was that I tried the esophyx because I wanted to avoid the nissen more than anything. Unfortunately...when an esophyx fails, the nissen becomes your only real option. PM me if you think I can answer any of your questions!
