  • Jennifer Runyon....one of my biggest crushes when I was growing up! Thank you so much for posting these gems! It's nice to escape back to a time when life was so much simpler and tv programs were of a higher quality than what is churned out by the "System" today.

  • I love your AW vids! You needed to know, at least until I can download them.

  • They actually did use the same version on a few other occasions later, before the theme was revised again.

  • Canary was brought in to revive the Steve/Alice/Rachel triangle, but it pretty much was a flop. Linda Borgeson was playing Alice, and her character was somewhat closer to Jackie Courtney's portrayal (sweet, somewhat naive, as opposed to Susan Harney or Vanna Tribbey, who both played her as confident and strong). But her pairing with both Mac and then the new Steve never got off the ground and Alice was written out again, this time leaving for Chicago (when she ended up becoming a doctor).

  • @wyattphx I think, funny enough, the quality of "Alices" went down with each recast. Jackie was the best (and if given the chance to have "grown" Alice she would have been magifiscent. Anyone remember her ball-busting against Robin's Dorian on OLTL? They went head to head all the time and it was perfection.) Back to Alice--Susan Harney was okay, Vanna was decent but not as good as Susan, and Linda was pretty horrible. Had a odd lisp too. Tina Sloan should have been cast instead of Linda

  • @SoapsGoldenAge I agree. It was hard enough to get used to Susan Harney, although she did try to make the role a little stronger. But the character was doomed by then and it's no wonder Alice faded and then only came back in fits and starts. The last go round with a replacement Alice (Linda Borgeson) and her "triangle" with Mac/Steve/Rachel was a complete snoozer so it's no wonder they wrote her out yet again.

  • This instrumental theme was a one-time only thing for this episode, which ended with the engagement party for Mac & Alice, just as Edward Black (Steve Frame) returned to Bay City. His return, with intentions of reuniting with Alice and Jamie, caused Alice to ultimately break her engagement with Mac and Rachel ended her relationship with Mitch Blake. In the end, Alice left Bay City and Steve died (again) without marrying either her or Rachel.

  • Adam Chandler in Bay City.... love it!!!

  • "Join us each weekday at this time for the continuing story of Another World."

  • I watched this show since I was little. I remember sitting on my mom's lap and Steve telling Rachel, "You're not good enough for Alice to wipe her feet on", sending Rachel straight to Alice and informing her she was pregnant with Jamie, by Steven. But I have a question....did Jamie ever have an affair with Marianne? A friend of mine told me he did but cannot for the life of me remember that?

  • Thanks so much for posting, I loved the 1981 to 87 theme.

  • This theme is totally new to me. I was in college at the time, but I thought I was on top of the show at the time. David Canary was brilliant as Steven Frame. I had been impressed by his work on Bonanza, but he took AW to a new level.

  • David Canary,in my opinion,is the best soap opera star, either on Another World or All My Children(Adam Chandler/Stuart Chandler)

  • This was a few years before David Canary went to All My Children.

  • first heard this guitar-solo mix in early 1982..do appreciate hearing this without network voice-overs..these were actually enjoyable, and moreso now, considering it's now strictly 'squeezed credits', product-pitching business nowadays..since there were two guitars playing, i wish there was stereo sound back in those days...

  • I never heard this remix before. Interesting
