ok..as the person who made this video said they arent living together and my rat and guinea pig play all the time...nothing bad happens they are very kind with eachother and they dont mind eachothers company every animal is different so maybe his or her rat and guinea pig like eachother..just not in the same cage, and rats and guinea pigs are NOT natural enemies they can get along very well as u could see in the video they dident fight at all
Please, guys, I am not keeping them together - this was an experiment on how they'll react to each other and lasted as long as the video itself. In fact, the guinea pig was my guest for a few days and I myself only keep rats at home.
I'd take it as an obvious default that different species should be kept separately.
Guinea Pigs and rats are natural enemys you souldn't put both in the same cage, are two species not compatible, and they don't eat the same king of food, and is very difficult they have a good relationship. The only compatible friend for a guinea Pig is another guinea Pig or a small rabbit, and not always.
I had idea to keep rat and guinea pig in on cage and separate them by wall with small holes so only rat can enter in pig side, in case of bulling. But I know that rats are aggressive, so I abandoned the idea.
Anyway, it is wrong to keep them together like that because they have to eat different food (diet).
For some reason, I always find it comical for a smaller (species) to seek comfort in the existence of other living breathing (possibly not, goldfish you're out) creatures to massage their tenderils.
i knew someone who did this, she woke up one moring to find the rat ate the guinae pigs eyes, ew... Yea, rats are preditory animals, not smart to keep em with other species
Actually, my male guinea pig first made that sound when he was establishing dominance with his now cagemate, another GUINEA PIG. These animals shouldn't be housed together, your animals are obviously stressed out by each other presence. How would you like to be put together in a cage with, say, a gorilla?
guinea pigs are startled by any fast movements. If you put your hand in there and move it around the cage. It would make the same noise. It's alright to keep a rat and guinea pig together you just need to let the guinea pig get use to the rat.
Lol piggie is purring and likes the rat the rat doesnt care for the guinea pig much...

@PlasticGerbil As well as the smaller species is 80% more likely to be the aggressor. Kind of like high school? >.<
