My opinion no and it should not. These wealthy euntrepeneurs are subject to the federal government and in the end the decisions and the power rests with the heads of the government. However, their are giant corporations that support only the political parties that do not undermine their progress. The decision to support the Democratic or Republican party rests with the bussines's decision of not having their progress undermined.

@pcashman11 I'm glad you noticed this too pcashman, respect ;). I skimmed Rothkopf's book months ago and decided that he was "performing the smoke and mirrors game," as you put it. It's really really obvious. He's CFR, Kissenger Associates, Carnegie Endowment..... I think this guy is one of the minority who know EXACTLY whats going on and are purposefully misleading. It's kind of fun to be able to discern these things for yourself isn't it?

So you want to say No to the bullies and Yes to small business? Put your money where your mouth is. Shop at your local farmers markets! Also, there are plenty of local small businesses in your area that are trying to compete with the giants. Show your community spirit!

Actions speak louder than words. Walk the talk.

Remember, though, not all rich people are "power elite." You can tell from their philanthropy whether they like to share or not.

change will not come from anything but the people. They keep us uneducated & divided & soaked up in entertainment as distractions, among much more than that on a brain-wave & spiritual level, disconnect us. We have much more power than we think to control our reality, quantum science is only getting a glimpse of this & if we all came together in love, it would have the 100th monkey effect globally, as well as physical solutions harmonized. A new vision for a new world will emerge, I have hope.

This is true. The economy is already controlled...the plans go on a list from NWO, to a even deeper monetary system. far from being dependent upon the structure of institutions, modern elites may smash one structure and set up another in which they enact quite different rules. the viewpoint you espouse deflects accountability away from those who shape the world we live in. "the global capitalist system" is not a state of nature. it is the product of real people's calculated decisions. time to reevaluate your fantasy land paradigm.

the notion that so much power in the hands of few is abusive, and that not changing it prohibits equal development are obvious but usefull. The best aproach indeed appears to democratise supra national structures, and start only friendly and tolerant international relations. Cultural changes need to be somewhat rigorous to create an effect in less then many generations. To long to wait for, really.
