I think the real Temps would have been flattered and truly enjoyed watching young white boys in braces singing their music and "attempting" to dance their choreography.
Remember.........early on, the Temps were forced to play in front of too many segregated audiences to now want to segregate WHO can sing their music.
From a black person who grew up with segregation, happy it isn't exhibited here...........and PROUD of the legacy of the Temps AND of these boys. :-)

This reminds me of "The Five Heartbeats" where that record producer brings in those white kids to sing the song and it's just not the same.
The lead singer has the vocals, the rest...not so much. The beat is also hurting my feelings. That's "The Way You Do The Things You Do" swing beat and if they'd sung that, it would be a little better.
You can see that Lance was definitely going to the TOP - how could he not with that much talent, charisma & enthusiasm at that age (& younger). Fast forward about 12 yrs. to 2010 and check out his current stuff!
