Won't Back Down is not whether he gave up at the end of his career...its his whole life. Where he came from, 1 in a million. Not backing down from LIFE.
my oppinion is that if Cus D`amato didn`t passed away, tyson could`ve been even more better than he is,he would`ve been the king of boxing because Cuz kept him away from all those bad thing that the world could give.but this is just my oppinion
Tyson never back down I always believe that i will see him fighting and i imagine that huge crowd are screaming and old tyson comes in to a ring for last mach against the young cocky fighter, everybody would talk about that fight and tyson would do it i think Man who grow up in the streets of bruklin where none of us haven't lived, where you must fight not with people you gotta fight with society, man who take his time in prison and he was innocent. His all life was fighting with all type of shit
I think Tyson knew he would not beat Lewis. He could have quit on his stool like he did against a lesser fighter. But I think he wanted to show his heart. He stood and got destroyed.
@esterwood1 pretty much. lennox lewis said he thought he broke his hand several times on tysons head. just because mike got knocked out several times some people think he didn't have a chin. the truth is, he was called iron for a very good reason.
@esterwood1 I agree he showed heart in that sense but Tyson was just a shadow of himself in this fight. In fact if you watch closely you'll see he had very good opportunities to see off Lewis in the first round, a younger Mike tyson would have done.
Lewis was a very good champion but he was fortunate in the sense things worked out the way they did and that he met many of his better know opponents when they had past their peak,
This is a very good song to putt on a boxing clip but not for Tyson. Tyson did back down when he got tired. It would be better for Frazier, Marciano,LaMotta,Ali,Mercer...
tyson was awsome at one time, but his ending was bad as you said, every one & anyone beat him at the end, fighters who would have not beat him in his prime, so he did back down.
For me: I wont back down' is a question of heart. A man who doesn't back down never gives up. And indeed in the end Tyson did give up. I understand that he was old but that's no excuses for a high level fighter to quit. Tyson would have won against Mc Bride even at his age if he would have stayed in the ring.
i agree with you,but he did catch mcbride a few times but the punches had no impact on mcbride, then he gassed out & didnt want to get of the floor which was pathetic & then he did not want to get up of his stool, i dont think i have ever seen that.
He didn't catch him full on the spot. A puncher like Tyson can punch almost every man out if he catches them wright, I don't care if Tyson was 50 years old, that kind of power stays dangerous at every age.
Sorry to say, but he had no bussines losing that way against a bum like Mc Bride. Maybe he had heart before but i didn't see a man that 'wont back down' his last years.
nothing great about that many boxers have not back down after taking a beating even some useless boxers,& there is many who would not even now, it just come with the territory.
@cyber1234567891011 they were all knocked down or out at some point themselves. tyson always took a brutal beating before he went down, and he always got back up
@bcibibcibcpCB ali quit on his stool against holmes. marciano retired young. lamotta and frazier both let their corners stop a fight. i'm not saying they didn't have heart, i'm just saying mike had heart also.
every career has bumps in the road. tyson took as big a beating from douglas and lewis as frazier and ali ever did from anyone.
I hear you. Tyson had hearth. It was mostly when things were going good for him. I never saw him coming back when behinde on points. Ali didn't quit, his corner stopped the fight. Ali had parkinson and was against Larry Holmes, Tyson stood against Mc Bride...Fraziers corner stopped the fight cause he was close to death, the Manila heat drained his brainfluids.
La Motta came back many times when behinde, even knocking his opponent down in the last seconds of the 15 round. Marciano = 49-0,
@bcibibcibcpCB well, he had heart if a different way imo. he didn't come back from behind to win but he made his opponents work for the ko. like i said, lennox lewis busted his hands on tyson's head to get the ko. and he still got up to make the ref stop it
@cyber1234567891011 Tyson been a lot he lived the life that 10 man has to live He grow up in toughest neighbor in new York. He has no dad, his mom died, he was in teenagers prison, become champ than go back to real adults prison for what he didn't done. His toddler daughter died. he became champ, got drugs addict, bankrupted and he STILL live happy life with his wife and kids even has not that much material things. Man he's a winner. He never back down in life, boxing is just a step of life
it's great

Yeah, I agree with you. Tyson was great in 1985-1991 , than he could better quit as you said.

'The beast in me' would be better for Tyson. But I'm glad to see your clips, I love Johnny Cash and these fighters.

@bretchet23 Against Mc bride he gave up. You know that. He quit on his stole. And i know he was broken then, over the hill and I understand that.
Still the likes of Frazier, Marciano, La Motta, Ali didn't quit.
