Thx for this tuto! I also hate to tune my guitar differently so thanks a lot. It's a simple way to play the song and I'm a beginner so... I like it :)
dude u are a life saver i gotta play this or guitar class in like 2 weeks and dont got any of it down but i sorta do now imma start practicing it like this tomorrow :)
I'm trying to learn how to play the guitar (but it's a very slow process at the moment) and your help really is invaluable. So many thanks for breaking this down for me.
@stuecke23 what about the d chord? and your last 2 fingers on the bottom. are they doing anything? besides make the chord but mine isnt sounding right
hi stuecke23 ur way is very clear and easy of teaching .. i really like it :) n i learned it withing less than 2 hours though am a beginner n this is mostly my 1st song to play ... bt i wanna learn the otheer song of alterbridge "in loving memory .. bt i didnt find any video of urs for loving memory :/ .. plz inform me if u do have uploadded such video :)) i'd be thankful
Shit bro! you rock man haha, Thanx a lot you helped me out with my band. We wanted to make a cover for this song without detunning our guitars! Awsm bro...
@skrape110 omg ..... i hate it when people forget that music is art not science , yes it has its technical side that is very important , but if u take a look into the past you will notice that some of the greatest pieces of music are not that tehnical(i'm not talking Mozart here :D ) , but they come from the heart and are played with passion.... for music not for money , also at the begining he mentions that it is his own way of playing it ..... well haters must hate ...
and playing something wrong and calling it art is a cop out that could only come from a poser... learn it right, get some skill, and DONT call it a lesson when its not.
this has nothing to do with music for money, and everything to do with playing the song correctly
That's called open G tuning. Just because this isn't the same tuning doesn;'t make it wrong. It makes "stuecke23" better for transcribing between tuning. negative asshole.
I've really been wanting to learn this song. I'm a straight up beginner, and I've chosen this as my first song to learn. Right now I'm having a lot of trouble with strumming, not sure if that's a problem with all beginners or not. Any suggestions? By the way, I love the designs on your guitar.
This is a great video. A great way to learn this song for playing at open mic etc. you don't have time to re-tune, so play it in standard tuning. It may not sound exactly right, but definitley sounds great! good job
In my opinion this is a great way to play it, if your out with friends and your playin out somewhere and dont have the time to tune your guitar correctly, Great job man. This video taught me :)
Yeah man you're right, the original song is in open g tuning and the chords are different than mine, but i hat tuning my guitar differently, so i tried to do it in standard tuning!
i have only played for about two years, but I thought this song was in open G tunning? Thats just what I have found with all the tabs so I could be completely wrong?
great job, ive finally found a tab/lesson that sounds right, but i think the chords that you say are wrong, you say C but its not a C chord..either way thanks bud
Ibanez rules :) I was hoping to get one like urs but eded up with a different Ibanez model, still it rocks

Good lesson, saves re-tuning, keeps nice open string ringing sound and well presented with chord progressions. Many thanks¬

it doesn't sound right.
floridemar 1 year ago
@floridemar
because it ISNT right...
when it is not in the correct tuning as the original, it isnt a lesson. this is the slacker's way to perform this song.
if you're serious about guitar and musicianship, buy a tuner, tune your guitar to open G, learn the CORRECT song.
that is what makes one a better musician. not skating through the song the wrong way so it only 'resembles' the original.
