  • Which light do you recommend using on an AR15 between the TA20 (simliar to the 21) or the TK15 if you have any experience with it? Fenix website says the TA20 is the ideal weapon light but the TK15 to me seems a little more lighter/compact than the TA20 but mainly easier to switch through the light modes and higher max lumen since the TA20 gets pretty tough some time to twist the bezel with one hand. But can the TK15 handle recoil and hard use on an AR15 as the TA20?

  • Thanks! I have been waiting on a TA 21 review. Now I just need to find one in stock for a decent price.

  • @HIM0G I have one and Love it to death. I got mine on Katerno for like $68. Don't know if it's still there.

  • @bmx65 Thank you, I will check it out.

  • So, I have been trying to find a light and after watching this review I really wanted the TA30. However as you said, it is no longer in production as it was replaced with the TA20. Is it still possible to obtain a TA30 from somewhere? I need the extra length of the light.

  • 2 lumuns on pd31

  • It looks like a Canon camera.

  • Darn you Nutn! Making me spend money every time i watch your vids lolll! I bought the TA21 half way through this video :D Can't wait to get it!!! Awesome videos man! Keep up the excellent work!! Before i ever buy anything, your the first person who i go to, to check out the reviews and test. You have never failed us!

  • Does anybody know if the TA 21 when used with a pressure switch (ar 102) has a a constant on feature with it still, like the surefire millennium? For instance, I could use the pressure switch intermittently when clearing rooms with low light, but then if I needed to hold a hallway for 20 or 30 minutes I could click a button for constant on. Does it have that capability? Thank you in advance.

  • may I be so bold as to ask where you got the brass ring for your TK10

  • damn these videos r to long...id rather watch a movie

  • @joshmarauder Well these kinds of videos are pretty much for those who are really looking hard to get a great item. And reviews like these bring out MANY of the details you look for. So for some a long video like this is really good.

  • Man you should do like a navy seal type shooting drill if you got so many water proof weapons and lights That would be So SICK!!!

  • @Ridered367

    not a bad idea!

  • Nice flashlight!

  • ur the best nutnfancy :D

  • Does Fenix make a SCUBA light? 100m submersible?

  • Awesome review! Just ordered my fenix pd 31, now I want the ta 21 or 30

  • so they are 100% waterproof?

  • @DeviousBetrayer Nutn spends a lot of time working out the details and testing the gear he reviews. He's VERY thorough. If you don't like it, don't watch...but don't expect us to follow rude and uninformed "advice" like your comment. What you're doing here is simple trolling. Grow up. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • @nutnfancy Just to be a dick, you should make your next light vid an hour long. on one flashlight, and make it a FisherPrice flashlight from Toys R Us.

  • @DeviousBetrayer

Waste people time? YOU are fucking insane. Nobody forces you to watch any video on youtube. This is entertainment and it's absolutely free. If you don't like it stay away from youtube.

  • @DeviousBetrayer How is it wasting time? if you don't want to watch then don't watch. I would rather have the option of more than less.

  • @DeviousBetrayer Look at the views then!!

  • Having 3 of the Fenix lights in this video... does that make me a nerd??? :P

  • @1NWOMD nothing wrong with being nerd haha

  • Can i use a 18650 rechargeable Li-ion battery in the TA21?

  • @RECONCAMO69 If it uses two 123 cells, then yes.

  • great vid as usual nutnfancy...my ta 21 should be here in the new couple of hours

  • @bigboy40cal Hey how do you like your TA21? Does it really light up the place?

  • @Haik000 Dude, I love it. nice and bright. Bought for a weapon light, liked it so much i"ve been carrying it everyday since I got it as my work light. I work graveyard and the different brightness settings are perfect. Low when indoors in some light; high when outdoors or when i need to see something high in the ceiling. The strobes are great for keeping track of workers out in the dark or getting attention. I'm going to buy a second one as a weapon light. Great buy in my opinion!!

  • I need to find some open, dark place just so I can justify getting one of these lamps.

  • whats the best flash light under $30 give me a list

  • @NFS13EPIC

    G.I. angle-head flashlight.

lantern with the big, square battery.

    Everyready "Industrial"

I'm not going to list Maglites because they are no better than than ones you can get for $10. And the Minimags are just unreliable. That stupid focusing head is what screws them up. One decent beam would have been better than variable beams with a lot of dark spots.

  • rock on those high quality vids, nutn... !!!! I really love them!!!

im law enforcer, really takin advantage from them!! Cheers from Germany

  • I have owned the TA21 for about a year now. Great flashlight, i have used it for a variety of applications. I have used it as a weapon light on my AR. Great advice from Nuntn

  • I bought a ta21 based on this review a year ago and it has served me well ever since. I'm far more pleased with it than with any of my Surefire lights. Very much a high value product.

  • Sorry if this has been said before but you shouldn't use two different batteries together like you're doing in the TA30; assuming the same internal resistance they will drain at a similar rate so the smaller one will be empty long before the big one. With protected batteries it's not as bad (increased wear on the small one tho) but without it you will reverse charge the smaller battery which is very dangerous with Li-ions, the chance of it exploding after doing this isn't negligible. Be careful!

  • Hahahahh 19:25 listen to the redneck-accent: When we look down insiiiiide

  • there is another reason for the strike bezel

  • there is another reason for the strike bezel

  • @bentlikeitsmaker Besides strike bezeling?

  • @Kylef7735 yea lets say you leave the head facing down there will be some light leakage so you can tell its on so you dont overheat it cause i kno if you face it down it gets hotter way quicker and you could easily burn out an led

  • Thanx for this awesome review! Now Im buying the TA21 for sure! Its gonna be very handy here in Finland :)!!!

  • Personally i more like the TA30 ;)

    Good review, loved it!

  • Bought the TA21 per this review and couldn't be happier. Blinded myself in broad daylight haha. Now THATS a flashlight!

  • Man....what a review! Awesome job by someone really using the light. The enthusiasm alone sold me on the TA21 which I will be orderring in no time flat. First-rate review!

I hope you get hired and paid for this stuff. If you do.....keep doing it!!

  • My 2¢ (CAD). I have owned and used a TK12 for about a year(EDC). It is hands down the best tactical light I have owned. I have been carrying one make or the other for at least twenty years including Mag Surefire and Streamlight. Surefire is the only one that has come close. Excellent build, function and reliability.

  • can't find these light on fenix website anymore ....

  • @viniv20 Really? I found them in the TA series a few days ago

  • @bmx65 strange , i will look again now !

  • I got one of these lights and I mounted it to my AR. AWESOME light, and as always great review. I literally bought the light right after seeing this review. Keep them coming Nutn. Good stuff.

  • omg 37 minutes.... keeps increasing...im gona buy a FENIX..

by dive do you mean SCUBA diving? thats fun

  • omg 37 minutes.... keeps increasing...im gona buy a FENIX

  • just ordered the TA21, and a Cold Steel Recon 1, 2nd Gen. Looking forward to having a play, good review.

  • the fenix lights are awesome thanks for introducing them to TNP! Ive been testing mine for a year and the only bad think about it is the finish tends to chip if you drop it. I would really recommend them as an alternative to surefire weapon lights as well (maybe not these 2 though)!

  • Excellent review!! I got to admit... at first I thought this was going to be a long drawn out video, but it turned out to be very informative and gave me the answers I was looking for about the Fenix TA21. Great job and I hope you continue doing your reviews.

  • I have a few to say. As an Auto repair technican working with 5 people. One tech owns this light. But everyone reaches for my streamlight c4 led.You as a pontential buyer understand that. I may have to buy them their own.

  • awesome review!

  • awesome review!

  • How can this video have 98 dislikes? It should have ZERO!! Im getting the TA21 For Sure

  • @bmx65 I don't know if its still going on or not but at one time there was actually an organized "voting down" of Nutn's videos happening. We were sent a copy of the "flyer" that went around advising people to do it, who was behind it, etc. Not surprisingly, we knew who was instigating it. We call them "hyenas". They call themselves "the real gun community". :D

  • @nutnfancy Oops! I should have signed that...that comment was from me, Veri. *points up*

  • @nutnfancy Well Their Full o Garbage!

  • @bmx65 Indeed they are! Thanks, bmx. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy 1400 likes under a 100 dis lol looks liek thast memo missed inportant people lol keep up the good work broski great videos

  • @nutnfancy It wasn't the GunWebsites following was it?

Cause I commented on a GunWebsites Silencerco video where they did their form of "through" reviewing, a full 3 mins and 52 seconds lol, that ((full quote)) "Your late Nutnfancy did a much more thorough 50min review over 2 months ago with 70k in views :3". A rivalrous jest of course but from their reactions you would have thought I drowned a puppy lol. Was there a preexisting feud I was unaware of?

  • I got one, excellent review!

  • YOU'RE THE MAN !!! i don't know what else to say

  • Comment removed

  • what type of batteries again?

  • Does anyone know of a colored filter for the TA21? I dont know if the Fenix Filter will fit the TA21, if so, let me know, if not, tell me of some that WILL fit it. Also, when it comes to filter colors (Red or Green), which color is better for things like: keeping your eyes to night vision, penetrating fog, and keeping a low profile (Green makes sence for the last one)

    Please Reply

    - Thanks

  • Great reviews nutn, the TA21 and 30 truly are top of the line. Check out the new TK30 and also the TA21 at the website: FenixOutfitters. Great prices and a lot of cool gear.

  • Great reviews nutn, the TA21 and 30 truly are top of the line. Check out the new TK30 and also the TA21 at FenixOutfitters. Great prices and a lot of cool gear.

  • Hey Nutn. Great videos, man. I really appreciate what you do and all the work you dedicate to your project. I've purchased four of the Fenix lights based on your reviews/recommendations. TK10, LD20, PD30, TA21. Also have the SureFire Kroma (non-military spec). Keep up the good work, PLEASE! Lol.

  • Your not the only one. I have lost a surefire at least 5 times. It shows up after a couple of months and in one instance a year. Never had an issue with my other lights. Just the surefire.

  • i know some flashlights come with pouches such as the ultrafire WF-500, its a 500 lumen flashlight. Right now i have a 225 Lumen Surefire M961 CREE LED Flashlight.

  • Just order the Fenix TA21 and can't wait till it gets here!

    Fenix #FTW

  • just an idea for you, mabie at the start of your video you could make a contents with annotation links to certain sections in the video so that people that only need a small amount of information dont have to watch the whole video?

    great video, as allways!

  • Maxpedition has Fenix lights on sale

  • Awesome recommendation .. bought 2 TA21 Currently involved in Private Security .. Love the Tactical advantages: brightness levels (awesome in the woods and long range beam throw) also nice key-bo like usage.

    Keep it up.

  • good review. thx

  • How do these bad boys fair up to the TK30 lights by Fenix?

  • is the ta21 a flood beem or a spotlight type beem?

  • Another great review. I've been using Fenix lights now for four years and love them. I started out with an LD10. After 3.5 years of everyday use, it started acting up (would come on once... then wouldn't come on again for several minutes). So I upgraded to the LD20. It is nice, but a bit big for an EDC in my opinion. I've got a TA21 on my list of things to get for my BOB... will get it this summer. I'm sold on Fenix as a company and love the products! Great review!

  • I just won the TA21! ;D Then I immediately rushed over to Lighthound and bought a pair of AW 18650 flat-tops and a charger for like $40! Awesome prices, and their service! Oh my, I can't wait for that light, or the AW's, i'll most likely go insane before I receive either.. Thanks a bunch for another great review Nutn, this one really helped easen out the waiting time a bit, amost like holding the light myself.. :)

  • Left out another critical light user category-firefighters- just pointing that out, mabye in the future extreme heat could be part of construction or something like that. Great review though. Hopefully im gonna be getting this light and a surfire of the same lumen count, and do a comparison review. 5/5 Nutn keep up the great videos!

  • @riverdave7 Excellent point, dave. Send it over once you make it...to post as a video response. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • are they waterproof? if so how deep can they go?

  • Another great vid review:)

I finally got my TA21. Love it. However, the specific onte I received has the click switch exposed thus it cannot stand on upright. I contacted Fenix about the difference in the design models and will let you guys know what they say. Almost a deal breaker for me- but the light rocks!

  • Fenix rep indicated that the only production model they have in place is the one with the exposed clicker switch. So, that's a big deal for you, then I would verify first with a seller which model they have. I was able to purchase on off ebay that had the recessed clicker switch.

  • Does anyone out there know does the TA20 give any notice when the batteries are low? does it flicker or indicate somehow when the batteries are out or does it just stop working? thanks

  • they don't sell them anymore

    it's the LD20 or TK12

  • i think they discontinued the ta30. Really sad because I just lost mine in the field. I found it a few places online so i guess I'll be keeping close tabs on it and protecting it like a child this time.

  • Awesome review. Love Fenix.

  • 0:36-0:40 totally the terminator look.

  • Outstanding vid!

  • Nutnfancy paired a 17670 with a 16340 cell. Recipe for disaster! Try this without protected cells and watch em' explode! The higher capacity cell will reverse charge the lower capacity cell and will result in catastrophic failure including venting with flame. If you must try this use only AW brand LiIon cells like Nutnfacy does in the video. Never mix new and used cells in multi cell lights and never mix cell types or chemistry. Please annotate your video to warn others of this risk potential.

  • love the music at the beginning. 5 stars!

  • Just picked up a PD30 and it's amazing so far. Can't wait to test it out in the outdoors. Not sure why I can't rate the vid, but as usual 5 Stars! Great work Nutn, keep 'em coming!

  • Your best vid yet! How many has nutn done?the Fenix lights look fantastic I can't wait till I can get a hold of one myself!

  • Are these Ideal for assult Rifle's ? I just got word I can customize my M4A1 last night. I do tons of night patrols and need a better light than the standard military one. Any thoughts?

  • watch 19:45 and he explains it

  • I asked Fenix and was told all the TK models are designed to operated with remote tape switches.

  • Great review. Bought a LD20 not long ago based on your reviews of Fenix and couldn't be happier. I preffer the price point of AA batts, and using this at work, wow... it throws some serious light. Keep up the great work.

  • My friend had one of these (TA21 or TA30 not exactly sure). He said he liked it a lot but it got confiscated at the airport because the TSA agent considered the strike bezel to be a weapon.

Just a caveat to you guys. I think flashlight makers should include a interchangeable non-crenelated bezel with these lights so that users won't run into trouble like this.

  • That is a most valid point, bro. Thanks for sharing.

  • @GEYURI i agree make it threaded and removable to a ring style addon that comes with the light

  • @GEYURI Great info. I figured they would but I wasn't sure. I wonder what there size limitations are?

  • Hey nutnfancy, great point about preserving your night vision with dim settings/red lenses.

It's true, brighter isn't always better!

  • I just got my ta 21 and man is this thing bright. You have no problem seeing a 100 + yards with it. def worth every Pennie.

    Thanks for the great review.

  • Great review, shall probably go for the TA30 as i prefer fewer settings. Thanks.

  • Great video. Sold me on Fenix TA20. Same as 21 but with only 4 settings, low, med, high & strobe. I preffer fewer settings on a light.

  • Just can't get over the HD video. Have been looking to replace my duty light for a while. So, I'm thankful for the review. Looks like I'll be picking up a TA30 for duty uses. Again, thanks for all the TNP hard work. Be safe & watch your SIX......

  • Thanks for the Great Review "once again." Just got my TK21 and can't wait to use it. Keep up the great reviews!

  • 25:00 This is what keeps me away from the fenix lights! Unfortunately in my opinion, they have so many modes, which get in the way of finding the one you want quickley ...

AWESOME review though ... is there a Zebralight review coming up?

  • Hey, awesome review! I've been using the TK11 for some time now and LOVE IT!

  • you should do a review on the Fenix Tk40

  • This also isn't a post against Nutn, as I trust his word. The web site has GREAT prices, i just think that calling them first would be a good idea. Their web site is NOT accurate fo on-hand counts. Keep up the videos NUTN. I love 'em!

  • Good tip -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • i don't know what happened to my first post...

  • I don't see it..was it naughty? Cause sometimes I'll delete..lol I scrolled down, but I don't see it. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • I was explaining that I purchased a TA21 from NUTN's recommended site, Yourcornerstore . com, on Nove. 25. The website said they had 2 on hand, then 1 on hand after I ordered my 1. Makes sense until I called today wondering where it was. The guy on the phone said, "Could take 30 days, or 120 days, sir. I just don't know". Call them before you order!!! This isn't a post against YCS, just a recommendation.

  • Well, that is excellent advice. I still don't see your original post..YouTube glitch? Nonetheless, thanks for sharing it. - Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • 95 bucks for a light wow sounds a little much for me

  • You think $95 is expensive for a light like that? Strap yourelf in and take a look at Surefire then. Rounghly 3 times the price for the same amount of lumens. All because its 'Made In USE'

Over-rated crap if you ask me.

  • PD 20 weighs 2 oz with 1 3 volt battery. 3.25 inches long... .75 wide. 9 lumens to 190 with up to 35 hrs. run time on low. 9 48, 96 and 190 lumens with S.O.S. and disorienting strobe....awsome edc.

  • what kind of battries

  • The TA21 uses 2x CR123

    the TA30 uses 3x CR123 cells

  • Anyone ever had to have a fenix light fixed.I have been trying get a hold of fenix for almost a a week. The service sucks.I have A L1D and a p 3 that only work on high mode.I use my lights and had both for about a month or so before they stopped working on the ramp modes.

  • It would be capable to actuate the rotating switch with one hand, if the light were mounted on a firearm. =D

That's the first think I thought when I saw the TA21, I want to throw it on a AR or something of that sort.

  • The Fenix pouch is a better option than the ones you are showing, still very good flashlights.

  • Just replaced my Fenix T1 with a smaller more powerful Fenix PD 30, best flashlight iv'e ever owned. several modes great build quality, 230 Lumens serious power for such a small light.

  • Great review. I've been looking to pick up a few more flashlights to round out my gear selection.... definitely gonna give these a look-see. And thank you for referring to yourcornerstore.... a great resource. Thanks, nutn!

  • love it great job nutn.

  • nice lights but i have a feeling the emitter's are about to get a major upgrade so im going to wait on those there starting to use the cree xpg R5's in some lights i think these are next in line 2 steps up

  • 17:55- Another fumble!

  • I think you should be able to unscrew the spikes on the end. -just a thought

  • Forgot to ask, Nutn' what do you think of the olight m20 warrior?

  • I dig the 18650 capability of the TA21. That's why I won't buy a tk12. I like my rechargeable batteries with the option of using primary batteries as backups.

  • Thanks for all your hard work Nutnfancy

I picked up a couple S&W Galaxy flashlights a couple months ago. They are more pouch carry lights.

Let me know if you would like to test one out.

  • prepare to be bitch-slapped for your disrespectful tongue. What a waste of time and energy it is to produce such poor comments.

  • Turns, there are plenty of those 3-5 minute flashlight reviews online...god knows why you didn't find one of them instead of whining over here. He is an IN DEPTH reviewer, if you want someone clicking a flashlight on and off, shining it around the yard, into their mouth, or worse..seek elsewhere. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Its called an in depth review moron. He covers all the bases. If you have a problem with the length dont watch it lol.

  • Thank you for your great reviews! They have been very very useful to me! A vew minutes ago I purchased a Fenix TA30... Finally going on to the modern age of flashlight-tecnology upgrading from my old 3D Cell MagLite!

    Keep it up. You rock!

  • Yea once I get the money i am definitely adding the Fenix TA30 to my list of gear :)

  • Are you guys going to do a review of the Robinson arms XCR?

  • great job nutn!!! you do amazing work!!! all your vids are of great quality content and just fun to watch! your one of if not thee best reviewer i'v seen!!! you ROCK!!! keep it up man.

  • Another great review, I love the intro music. These lights have a very busy design to them. I prefer the more simple design of something like the L1D/L2D. The TA21/TA30 seem light great lights with more functionality though.

  • Outstanding vid Nutn, I am honestly about the go get me a ta30 now. im impressed. thanx a ton.

  • the beginning of this vid gave me chills. pure pro.

  • The track on this video is damn sexy...you got good taste nutn.

  • New music and we think it just ROCKS! That's original stuff by ElDudio, he's got a channel here on YouTube. Much more to come from him...very talented dude. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • looks like a lightsaber handle

  • Yea your right!

  • yet another awesome review......i've been lookin for a light lately and I think i'm gonna go with the TA21. thanks man your the best.

  • American made option is the Surfire. Not only made in the USA but better than the Fenix

  • Comment removed

  • I looked around, maglite and Inova are also American made.

  • have fun spending 3x more on a flashlight.

  • I just checked the Surfire Website and Fenix as well. I compared prices and the Fenix, I find is superior. Lets compare a Higher model Surfire to a TA30

    Compare the E2D LED Defender-(150$ High mode is 200 L Low is 5 L) to the Fenix TA30(91$ Strobe 230 L High 225 L, Medium 60 L, low 9 L)

To boot the Low on both run times are Surfire (76 Hours) Fenix (115 Hours)

Don't take it as a attack, take it as a argument to find the truth.

  • Just get an ultrafire A10 for $15.00...Gets 220 lumens (Q5 emitter digitally regulated) for an hour and a half off of a single AA.

  • It all depends on your POU (Nutnfancy always talks about it), The TA30 can go underwater and be used as a defensive tool and take punishment to boot, I know the A10 can't do any of that. It's more then just a "flash light" it's "thee flash light." used for a person who need a hardcore flash light.

  • It works just fine under water. O-rings seal it up good. Also has the crowned top for bashing people. All in a lighter more compact package. I'd rather use my knife for self defense indtead of ANY flashlight though.

  • Good points I'll have to check it out .:)

  • I'm not saying its better, just saying its ALOT of light for only $15.00 haha For those who cant justify spending 60+ for a light

  • i like the ui its different but looks great!

  • awesome!

  • Great vid. Have you ever had any experience with the Olight T20-M?

  • Thanks scuds, Morris

  • You can find UltraFire branded lights on dealextreme that are just as good as the Fenix lights for a fraction of the price. They use the same high output emmitters such as MC-E and XRE-Q5 and are digitally regulated but cost way way less.
