I had the Uni tread when I was 6 or 7-as I remember, it had a transmission and would shift into a lower gear when climbing over something, then shift back into high gear when on level ground. MMM toys were so cool, and were an interesting blend of technical realism (modeled from the NASA space program) combined with imagination, fantasy and adventure. They seemed to me to be the perfect science fiction toys. But most people today don't even seem to remember the MMM toys.
