  • /watch?v=lYOPBA93VkA

  • hey all ^^

  • what pump do you use, my exo one is making alot of noise....>:(

  • How much does it cost u? :)

  • how many bags of hydro balls did you use?

  • Did you buy the rock or find them?

  • does this all coe with the terrerium

  • where did you get the barrier rocks?

  • Is that terrarium from exo terra or zoo med and what size is it and could I put a crested gecko in their

  • @hehu100 exo terra and yes you can put a crested in a tank this size.(18x18x24)

  • @TheAETutorials where do u get those rock things

  • @dancingsquirel24 Bought them at a landscaping store where they sell mulch and rocks. Instead you can use driftwood.

  • @TheAETutorials how many bags of hydro balls did u use?

  • how does the water fall kit work? once the water falls out does the pump push it back up the waterfall and the hydro balls keep from absorbing? One last thing, should you leave space for the water in the waterfall?

  • Where did u get the corkbark for the waterfall I like it!

  • @Nsantmyre1208 petco, petsmart

  • Does the hydro balls absorb the water so your substrate doesn't get soaked?

Great vid and enclosure btw :)

  • @boogybonz No it just keeps the soil out of the water. You can also use gravel if you like.

  • @TheAETutorials Awesome thanks man!

  • @boogybonz yes it does and it does not create mold that way

  • very good performance, you help me with good ideas,

    thanks

  • what are hydro balls for?

  • Does that pump filter the water?

  • What kind of bulbs do you have and whats the wattage?

  • @punkmonkey61 exo terra compact top with two exo 26w compact bulbs

  • @TheAETutorials i need to know where you got the rocks. It is important!!

  • @MrTerrariumGuy I got them at a local store where they sell rock and gravel for landscaping. You probably dont have one of those around so try using driftwood or cork instead.

  • what are you putting in there? im making a viv for my crested gecko but im not sure if i should put a little pond in?

  • @hypnotoad2882 the viv is for dartfogs. since yours is for crested geckos, a pond wouldnt be nessecary. its mainly for looks.

  • where did you get those stone rock thing blocking the hydro balls

  • hey, sorry to keep asking questions, but what lights are you using and what water pump is that... i have an old 3ft fish tank i could use, so that would save me alot of money, so then i could just buy the lighting and the rest of the stuff ill need

  • @keightley2011 Im using the exo terra canopy top but if you are going to use the 3ft aquarium I would recommend to buy a t5 ho light fixture. Just do some searches and you should find some light fixtures of 3ft measurements. Also do some searches for waterfall pump since Im not sure what is available over in the uk.

  • @TheAETutorials could a green tree frog live with a red eyed tree frog

  • @malabellastudio they could but I wouldnt recommend it. it could cause stress to the frogs.

  • nice tank dude, i like it, where did you get you glass vivarium from?

  • @keightley2011 Got it from Thatpetplace,com

  • @TheAETutorials i live in the uk so i don't think ill be able to get one from that site.

  • @keightley2011 try vivariumland, com its a european terrarium supplies site. They have the zoomed 45x45x60 cm which is the same size as my tank except zoomed instead of exo terra.(i like zoomeds better)

  • @TheAETutorials oh the zoo med, i thought you said zoomed. yeah they are nice i will check them out

  • @keightley2011 I was looking at their site and it says they are out of stock so here another site: dartfrog,co,uk This site has alot of terrariums and they seem to be instock.

  • @TheAETutorials we have the same makes as you guys, the only problem with the 3ft tank is it doesn't have a hood, so im going to have to build a new one and add the lights into it. i should be ok though, how do i clean these out? cos if i am going to make my own hood/lid for the tank ill need to know what size opener ill need for it to get in and out of the tank without any hassle.

  • @keightley2011 I recommend you check out dendroboard, com there they have tons of information about anything having to do with dartfrogs and terrariums and what to use.

  • @keightley2011 yeah ok will do thanks, whats the difference though?

  • Stop asking how much he paid for all this. Ask his parents lol got to exoterra's website or a dealers

  • @squishyone70 I actually paid for this all by myself. Everything I have I have paid for myself.

  • errrr how much money did you spend on all of this XD?

  • where did you get the rocks?

  • And do u need a heat source for a vivarium?

  • @Nsantmyre1208 The light should be enough as long as the vivarium stays at around 60-78 degrees.

  • How much was it for everything the cage included and is the waterfall hard to do I might get my first one and can lizards and frogs live together ?? Awsome !!

  • no water ?

  • what do u use the hydro balls for

  • @MrReptileMike so they dont waste too much soil

  • It sounds like you have more terrariums in the background. I can hear the pumps running and the water flowing. Is this true that you have more terrariums?

  • @legotecky321 yes check my other vids but what you actually hear is an aquarium.

  • YAH!!!! IM not the only kid interested in terrariums!!!!!!!!

  • can anyone give me a website or several where I could buy a cage like this please?? I really need one.

  • @prieto022508 I bought mine at thatpetplace, com you can also get it at petsmart.

  • @prieto022508 you really shouldn't have a pet if you cant search "vivarium" on google...

  • Good job boys. Just a helpfull hint, if you get a small tube of clear silicone you can use small amounts(about the size of a dime) to hold the rocks in place. It won't hurt the animals or plants, it the same stuff used to hold the glass together in your tank. Again great job.

  • does anyone out there have a fix for my problem below? At a stand still.

    thanks,

  • i used this setup and thought it looked great! now i am having a problem with the substrate clogging the pump. did this happen to you and any help to correct this would be great.

  • @mlsbejj Did you separate the substrate from the drainage layer (hydroballs) because if you didnt the subtrate mixes with it and the water and clogs the pump. Also you might have had some of the substrate fall into the water and caused the clog. Try cleaning the pump and taking out as much water as you can and then fill it backup with clean water.

  • im buying 1 of these an growin a lil pot plant with my frogs

  • where did you get the rocks from?

  • thats actually a realy good idea! and it looks great.. good job man

  • Did you find the rocks your self or did you buy them at a pet store? I'd love to use the same idea on one of my tanks.

  • @mlsbejj what?

  • what is that device that you have near where the water will be flowing thru

  • how much did the set up cost not counting the cage

  • @lilnewk333 Around $40-$50

  • @TheAETutorials how much with the cage

  • @dancingsquirel24 about 160-170

  • where did u get the rocks?

  • thanks this shoud help

  • will a tiger salamander be ok in there?

  • @ThatReptileDude They should be ok as long as it is easy for them to get out of the water area. also i would recommend an exo terra 18x18x18 or 24x18x18 since tiger salamanders arent arboreal.

  • @TheAETutorials yeah i was looking at the 18x18x18, how much are they? because on the site they're douches and dont put prices

  • @ThatReptileDude If i were you i would go to petsmart and buy the zoomed 18x18x18. they are pretty much the same thing except the zoomed has one big door which i think looks nicer. normally they are about 80.00 at petsmart but they often have them on sale for about 60.00.

  • @TheAETutorials Thanks a lot. You, best human.

  • think i can do this for my emperor scorpion? im just scared it'll drown in the deeper end of the small river

  • @demonic346 Im not sure cause i dont know much about scorpions but if you are worried about the water being too deep, you can just add more gravel to make it shallower.

  • @demonic346 a scorpion like a p.imperator wouldnt be happy with the amount of light needed to sustain the plants, as you should know scorpions prefer dark burrows witch the emperor will eventually dig and mess up your whole vivarium something like this is best left for exotic tree frogs and dart frogs

  • what are thos things seperating the water from the land cause i attempted to do this then it got all my soil all wet and soggy :(

  • @giovannimartinezm5 those are hydroballs. you can get them at petsmart or you can buy them online. if you cant find them you can just use gravel instead. make sure you put a screan between the hydroballs and the soil so they dont mix together.

  • @TheAETutorials thanks so much :) i finally installed a water fall :D!

  • I have a question can i use this type of tank for my crested gecko cause i dont want it to drown. please respond

  • @giovannimartinezm5 Yes you can. since crested geckos are arboreal, they will probably stay higher up in your vivatium and if they do happen to get in the water they should easily be able to climb back out. Just make sure you add some climbing surfaces and enough plant cover toward the top of your viv like epiphytic plants and vines so it has some cover since my setup is more for terrestrial species.

  • This is very helpful and clear :) If you were to do an update, perhaps say the price of the products you use? Apart from that, all gooood. Thank you.

  • How much money was the whole setup?

  • @TheGoonishMans2010 About $200

  • Do u have to use hydroballs or can u just make a river thing? What if i just put sillicone around the rocks and used soil?

  • @killer12227 You can use gravel instead of hydroballs but you do nead something under the soil so the water can drain out and not make the soil too wet

  • @TheAETutorials ok thx, also when i fill it with water would i want the water to be even with the top of the hyrdoballs? Or just fill up the river thing and if it leaks it leaks? bcuz im gonna use a pump for a waterfall

  • @killer12227 i would have the water level be about a centimeter below the top of the hydroballs. when you fill it up make sure there is enough water to cover the waterfall pump so the water flows correctly

  • how much did it all cost?

  • make a update

  • are those real rocks

  • @dave1234madmax rofl lfmao XD omg lmfao what difference does it make?

  • were do i get the rocks soil and waterfall

  • that creek thingy has balls XD

  • nice simple vid, i like it! more ppl need to make vivs like this :)

  • what and where did you get the rocks

  • question do the hydro balls and the water have to be separated? it might be a dumb question but i have no clue im new to the waterfall kit

  • @ViaLaBam25 yes they do have to be separated if you want to have a water/ pond area. The hydro balls help keep the substrate out of the water and from being soaked.

  • @TheAETutorials so if i just wanted a river would i have to separate it still?

  • @ViaLaBam25 yes if you want to make a river use rocks to help keep the hydroballs in place and from getting into the water area. The hydroballs themselves are sitting in water, just not in the water area you want to make.

  • wat do hydro balls do

  • how much did it cost in the end

  • Cool , very nice, where did you get the big rocks from, and what kind of rock is it?

  • cool im gona try that exat idea at a large scal , a larger exo terra 42 x ?
