If you watch the commentary on his Any Given Thursday DVD, he mentions his guitar faces and he says he doesn't know he is making them and even if he does, they are just what happens. He even says that if he was conscious of how they look, he would definitely make better ones. He admits that his guitar solo faces are awful.

Mayer has been playing guitar since he was 13, he got into Berklee College of Music, his music theory knowledge is insane That isnt something Kris Allen can catch up with, unless he has a time machine & goes back to learn the ins and outs of music like that he will never b the kind of musician Mayer is,he will never get the level of music knowledge that Mayer does its that simple, 1 is a professional musician and the other won a reality show

No kiding, I was referring to the fact that u have to be legit just to get in to that school, he only left cause he wanted to start playing full time, which is why he moved to Atlanta. They just invited him back recently 2 teach a music seminar that is serious music knowledge and respect to be able to do that Which is what I am trying to outline here, there is a giant giant gap in ability & knowledge between the two. Then u know absolutely nothing, go look at the stuff mayer was doing before he got singed, the sets he used to do at Eddie's Attic in Atlanta, he didnt get signed and then became good, he was good and then got singed, which is how it normally goes if you dont win these stupid reality shows. Neon, which could be Mayer's most complicated guitar work was created in 1999, so nice try. Its fine if you like someone, just dont talk out of ur ass and say allen is anything more than a reality show winner

He is barely talented enough 2 be allowed 2 buy tickets to the concert. You can search on youtube for it, the video of that song at the WTLI concert is up here, it just did not make the cut for the dvd, I think there was another song he did at the show that they didnt put on the dvd besides that one too. And whoever said this concert was better than WTLI is an idiot, WTLI is the best thing he has done his entire career, it was absolutely perfect.

Mmm im not too sure, but they we're out at similar times. But i think the sunburst was released sometime after, the ones used in this video had a short run, the sunburst then came to be the ''official'' signature strat still sold today.
