  • Helpful video! btw my friend used this hot diet called: Impact 790 Diet and reduced 5 kgs within a month. I cannot remember the exact web site just Google it.

  • The problem with what you did wasn't the exercise itself but the fact that you didn't eat enough to fuel your body after the first month. If you're training 5x a week for 90 minutes you need to eat a whole lot more than the average joe even if you're overweight or you'll fall in starvation mode. And yes, it does work that way on low carb too.

  • I wholly agree with you. I tried all exercises and still was piling on weights. I tried all the low-fat diets and still was ballooning. Then five years ago, I tried low-carbs diet and lost an incredibly 50 lbs.

My diet is high in healthy fats of omega 3, 6 and 9 and proteins, but low or moderate in carbohydrates.

Sometimes, I indulge sinfullly in high-carbs chips, pizzas, ice creams, etc. But I have them only once in a blue moon.

  • @2urita when he says NO starches, no grains no potatoes etc, does it mean NO-Never? I mean no grains does it mean "no crunchy oat with dried fruits" for breakfast? and if so, then no bread so what for breackfast then!?????

please heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!! if no rice no pasta no potatoes then WHAT for dinner!!!! please heeeeeeeeelp somebody help me please?

  • @deTRAUCOaLEPRECHAUN If you can't resist your carb foods, then eat them in SMALLER QUANTITIES rather than cut them out altogether. If you love potatoes, rice, pasta, etc and that you can't resist, then eat in smallest possible amount. Look up low carb diets on Youtube.

  • @2urita is not about to resist the problem! is about this: see in w w w xw.nhs.uk slash Livewell slash Goodfood slash Pages slash starchy-foods.aspx

¿¿¿¿so, then it looks like a contradiction!!!!

  • @deTRAUCOaLEPRECHAUN Begorrah, you are being very Irish by calling yourself leprechaun.

  • @2urita as I was born in CHILE ( américa latina del sur del mundo) and as I discovered here is called "leprechaun" the same we have known as "trauco" (south chilen folklore)

then I though de Trauco (which means "from Trauco") a (which means "to") cause I like the intellectuality that these involves...by the way I didn't find the translation for Begorrah

  • @deTRAUCOaLEPRECHAUN Begorrah is our Irish expression for shock, surprise or disbelief. We use it like people say "Oh my God."

  • @2urita ohhhhh well, thanks for that! you see? everyday something new to learn, in Chile we say CHUCHA! (which is an interjection to exclaim, but at same time has many other means as "chucha la weá" that could come to mean so so what a F..k! or pussy also aswell, commonly exclaimed when you get surprised by fear, or when you hit your thumb with a hammer-for example-:)

  • if you start exercising and eating less then your body needs to maintain you WILL lose weight.

  • may contain on of the following oils, LOL i can tell you its the cheapest oil on the list canola (RAPE SEED ) oil.

  • basically carbohydrates make you fat, end of story.fats are what everybody uses as fuel when you burn fat off your body.when you are thin fat is the perfect fuel also.

  • he is fucking correct. i just lost 46 pounds, sitting down. Now that im not so fat i can get up. so he is right twice. athletes are not fat people.

  • Thats funny how you say exercise makes you "cranky". Actually exercise is doing wonders to fight my depression. I feel better then ever and even more relaxed. I don't starve myself i just eat healthy and add exercise to help fight insulin resistance.

  • @meanoboy you are going to die a fat man. your ecxersize will not help your insulin resistance one bit.

  • @menoboy the gyms bank on you being cranky, they over book the space by nine times capacity knowing the cranky fat exercising people wont come through the door. HOW DO I KNOW THIS? they investors are told this as a sales pitch. they get to see the books.

  • fat americans like this richard huxter, don't like to be fat. Who does? And they don't want to get up off their fat lazy asses to do something about it. truly fucking disgusting.

exercise doesn't burn fat? i think you'd better let biological science know about this, it's kind of committed to the lie.

Fuck you and your posturing, fatbody

  • get your facts right bro you are 75% wrong 25% right

  • I love ya, man! <3 already knew all of this. but I wish I would've just watched this video instead of learning it all little by little. . . .

  • dont eat rice ?

not sure your 100% correct here

you can have brown rice, oats, fruit, vegetables,

    and lose weight fine

  • You look like Morrissey

  • Congratulations on losing all that bodyfat. You look a lot healthier now.

  • What helps you does not mean it will help others. Everyone is different people can lose weight but exercising that does not mean that others will lose weight by exercising. So you can't say that. But great job on you losing the weight. There is a difference in losing weight and losing the body fat. You can lose weight and not lose the fat. Or vise versa. Thanks for reading.

  • Don't let these haters get you down. You are right. Exercise doesn't burn fat and most people are in denial. Can't blame them because nobody wants to be told their efforts are in vain. But the truth is that exercise doesn't burn fat. Only diet can do that, like you explain. Cutting out carbs, salt and sugar and eating mainly protein will really make you burn fat.

  • hes right and wrong in some sense, the biggest fat loss technique is a calorie deficit, exercise does help alot if you are able to do it because high intensity burns fat the following day as well (the BBC in england done a documentary on fat loss and this was proven, check it out on youtube, its called 10 facts about fatloss)

  • @wildkartghibliitaly you probably hate fat people or you hate being fat. LOL

  • @wildkartghibliitaly really, how does that work? does my heart enlarge also? i saw breaders of cows make this super cow that looks like a massive bull from hell and all this thing does is eat. no hormones. so i believe genetics determine your muscle mass. im pretty sure i have science on my side here.

  • This is not true... You cant have one without the other.. if you go on a diet you will lose weight but also muscle. Most people want to have a strong, muscle, and toned body.. So you need both,,working out and eating healthy together. I lost 100lbs by dieting and working out

  • Regarding his controversial claim that you can eat fatty meat, etc, without guilt, here is an article to consider. It's very controversial, considering what we've been told about lipids in recent decades. However, this article is written by an MD, and cites several peer-reviewed studies throughout. Don't base everything you believe on this one article, but it's at least worth your consideration, IMO.

lewrockwell (dot) com/miller/miller38 (dot) 1 (dot) html

(NOT spam, just food for thought)

  • People who are criticizing his message about the exercise myth are not understanding the core of what he's saying. Here's another way to think about it: Exercise, in & of itself, is not the answer for weight loss. If your goal is to increase strength and endurance and agility, exercise is the answer. If your goal is to quit turning the calories you eat into body fat, your diet is the answer. If you're fat & out of shape (as he was), your 1st concern is diet. Exercise will follow naturally.

  • should of kept the beard..

  • did you start balding after you began the diet?

  • Most people commenting on this are ignorant to the science behind what was said. Carbohydrates, especially pasta, starches, breads, etc... are the key to weight loss. Physical activity is important but the diet is key. Overtraining will put more demands on the body for energy hence your body will store any food it receives rather than convert it to energy. It is sad that people do not realize this and go on eating insane amounts of carbs and think activity will counter their bad eating habits.

  • good advice

  • Jesus, horrifically misinformed pseudo-science bullshit.. T

  • i think your theory on the diet is there but the correlation with exercise and diet is somewhat askew as they go hand in hand. also the incorporation of butter/dairy ontop of your vegetables is wrong if your going to avoid grains, wheats etc as dairy products will result in the same affect as the above

  • This is a little conflicting. You said exercise was allowing you to see loss of fat but then you fell of the wagon. You could have been working out too hard and eating a shitty diet, and burnt out. If you reduce the intensity and not try to lose a 100 pounds in a month, and stay consistant, one will lose weight. With so many benefits of exercise to say you shouldn't do it, is not good information.

  • exercise is not counterproductive, you just need to make your exercise regime a lot more infrequent. dont go 6 times a week. go on random days, at different parts of the day, and vary the workout. this way your body is not getting too comfortable knowing when you are going to exercise.

our bodies naturally burn off carbs and sugar we eat, cut them out, and we start to burn fat, which is actually a better source of energy. but this means you must eat fats from meat, nuts, seeds.NOT CHEESE!

  • You are just talking about extremes with exercise. I can play at that game..........You say to cut carbs? Well when you cut your carbs by extreme amounts over a period of time you go into ketosis........ which is unhealthy just like always being catabolic.

  • @k94845 ..do you even know why Ketosis is dangerous?

You need to differentiate Ketosis and Ketoacidosis...They are different.

  • It has been shown that exercise increases insulin sensitivity. Stop misleading people that exercise does nothing for health or fat loss. I do know people who have lost weight with exercise including myself.

  • kinda fail to account for the people who do nothing with their diet yet up their activity level and lose fat/weight! I agree nutrition is probably more important than exercise but you seem to be making some very bold statements on exercise which if true across the board a whole fitness industry would have been found out!

  • Intense exercise is really very good for your heart rate. Where weight loss is concerned, it really comes down to what you ingest

  • You sound like a fucking hippie. Try spending more time doing actual research instead of spewing atrocious claims. There is no way just relying purely on a caloric deficit without any exercise is a healthier way to burn fat.

  • @NJnaturalBB dumb ass. carbohydrate restricted diet is not and never has to be caloric restricted. maybe you need to watch again without wax in your ears. you are never going to understand this anyway. its above you.

  • @datzfast It's above me? Please, stop kidding yourself. Don't reply back to me.

  • I don't mean to sound harsh, but your so wrong and what your "preaching" is not correct and anyone whose fat will be mis-informed by you... Firstly when you said you were exercising everyday and felt burnt out after a few weeks? have you ever thought that it was because you were over-training?? and Maybe the reason why your tired was due to poor diet or your cutting your caloric intake too much?? Gosh i wish ppl like you never found youtube and post this rubbish...

  • THIS GUY KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT. Here is an anatomy lesson. When you ingest bad carbs. The pancreas creates a surge of insulin. When this surge is released. The body shuts off its fat burning mechanism to combat this surge. The pancreas produces an over abundance of insulin which finally tapers off after several minutes. Because of this sugar spike. The pancreas secretes too much thus bringing the sugar levels too low. When the levels are brought too low. The body experiences a crash.

  • Hey! I stumbled across your video1 week ago and thought youre talking rubbish and in the process I read - Good Calories, Bad Calories. NOW I know what youre talking about. It has been like an awakening! It makes so much sense. I will let you know how it goes and keep up the great work!

  • There should be a law against letting idiots talk.

  • @Aesonseth

Read these books >> "Why we get fat" and "good calories, bad calories" by Gary Taubes. Then come back here and apologize.

  • @jaybird321 Get a university education and realise theres more to being right than "a few books" ignorant fuck.

  • @Aesonseth ...I learned one thing you didn't. Simple human deceny -- you don't have any.

  • this guy will end up weighing less but he will still be mostly fat as he his body is goinf to eat its own muscle over time !

  • This guy reminds me of Peter from office space...lol

  • Great video. Thanks for sharing. I have started the Paleo diet and lost 22 lbs in about a month and a half following basically the approach you outlined. So far it has been fairly easy to maintain and I plan on sticking with it. Hope you are still doing well.

  • Great video it's too bad people don't know this. The other day my roommate told me the only way to get lean and ripped is by starving yourself.. I shakedown my head

  • yea, the problem is people watch shows like "The Biggest Loser" and think that is the way to lose fat. Chronic cardio and calorie restriction is not a successful approach to getting and staying lean.

  • This guy is awesome! He is completely right. I have crippling arthritis and can't exercise easily. I lost 30 pounds in 4 months eating high protein, low carb foods. Don't gorge yourself on food, but if you keep the carbs to 20 gm or less, you need not worry aobut calories.

  • If you are just trying to lose weight (fat)...yeah, it's mostly diet. Thing is, you are overlooking the real benefits of regular exercise and maybe even doing people a disservice by saying its ok to be sedentary as long as you are eating properly. I think that a "healthy" lifestyle means creating healthy habits for yourself - and that is more than just watching your diet. The fact that you burned out on exercise tells me you overdid it and didn't rest enough.

  • Is fruit ( with protein) okay?

  • Dude.. 50 pounds down.. in 4 months now. I am seriously laughing my ass all the way to the scales. I'm on up to 10 grams carbs a day and never hungry or tired. Please tell all these retards to stfu.

  • @cronx1337 Hey buddy make sure that the meat and fat you're eating is high quality you know. IF you are to have oil (i just mean liquidous fat) make it olive or macadamia (cold/expeller of course) Try to get grass fed stuff, grass fed butter, organic coconut oil, free range eggs etc.regular meats contain too much omega6 fats which arent good and inflammatory. If you cant afford quality fats and protein (which has lots of nutrition) you might want to amp up vegetation to compensate for nutrients.

  • @TehBerbDean Thanks. I cook and just intake coconut oil sometimes, but mostly cook with olive oil. Indeed quality meat is expensive and hard to come by. For fiber I'm also taking fiber choice tabs, and daily multivitamin for Iodine (150 mcg at least) for thyroid. You gotta make sure to intake Iodine daily or you'll tank your thyroid and hypothyroidism will hinder your weight loss. Not only hinder it, but when and if you resume 'normal' diet, whatever that is, you'll regain all the weight.

  • I feel stupid after hearing this

  • good video over all, note of caution, 30 grams is too low, it is not glucose that is problem it is glucose intolerance that is problem. insulin is appetite suppresant, it is resistance problem not insulin, to many phytonutrients in quality carbs, malnutrition causes obesity. genetics play a role in how well you tolerate famines. leptin is responsive to insulin, you need insulin rises for leptin rises.

glad you found something, ketogenic diets work only for small number of people long term.

  • OK I want to say thank you. Fuck all these retards who say you don't know what you talking about. This video alone inspired me to jump on VLC bandwagon and I've lost 40 pounds in 3 months without ANY exercise. Simple physiology. Thank you.

  • you look great mate, will take your advise very seriously.

    Thanks !

  • Paleo exercise was actually mostly short and fast in order to hunt. Much of their day to day stuff was just staying in one place.

  • hes obviously never watched the biggest loser.

  • That should be right foods, not eight. :)

  • You are so very wrong. Your body only goes into panic mode if you are not getting the carb intake you need to exercise. You were exercising too intensely and not eating enough of the eight foods to sustain that level of exercise. OF COURSE exercise burns fat and it is ABSOLUTELY the best way to lose weight AND raise your metabolism/cardio-vascular/quality of life. You just didn't understand how to exercise in a healthy and sustainable way.

  • Im pretty sure that when you exercise for several hours and run out of stored carbs you dont just fall over and die.

  • -Cardio actually does burn stored fat. So, how does exercise not burn fat? Misleading...

-Cortisol will also be stressed by a caloric deficit. So I guess you should not eat at a caloric deficit (essential for fat loss). Just don't overwork yourself. Exercise also releases endorphins - but I guess that's unimportant?

-I can lose 3 lbs. per week @ 250 carbs per day, what's your response?

-You stress cortisol way too much. What about leptin, the fat-oxidizing hormone, regulated by carbs?

  • @NIFootie2010 I don't blame you. The web is full of scammers, especially having to do with weight loss. I've fallen for many of them. At the link their is a signup for my e-mail newsletter and a free report. I currently don't have a product available, but I am planning to put together a weight loss coaching course together sometime.

  • you are the biggest idiot I've ever seen. I'm not even kidding. are you even serious? you look like you don't believe yourself when you're saiyng all this crap. seriously, how could exercising ever be unhealthy? (talking about a healthy amount here, there's people who are addicted to working out but that's a different story) your body won't think you're starving yourself when you're exercising, it will think you're starving if you're not eating enough. there's a big difference.

  • @helloxjess I'm just trying to help other people that are in my situation based on my personal experience. I've been to the emergency room with adrenal crisis from over exercising. Exercise causes a caloric deficit just as much as dieting, if someone doesn't eat enough calories to make up for all the calories burnt while exercising it's the equivalent of starvation by caloric restriction. It's OK to have a small caloric deficit, but when it gets to large - it becomes very unhealthy.

  • @eatlikeacaveman yeah, you said it, from OVER exercising. no one ever said over exercising is healthy, but you say that exercising does not burn fat, which is a different story and simply not true. and what you're saying about the caloric deficit is true, but that's why people who work out a lot usually eat more. but again, you say in your video that it doesn't burn fat and that's just not true. exercising is healthy and it burns fat. end of story.

  • @eatlikeacaveman

Hey Richard - I myself exericise 4-5 times a week for about an hour a day, but I don't thik you're the biggest idiot I've ever seen! That's stupid, that person said that.. You're just explaining how you've lost weight, and what worked for you! :o)

  • @eatlikeacaveman JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA

  • @eatlikeacaveman My only concern is 30 grams of carbohydrates. oh boy, people are going to say I am an idiot. I can eat 1 banana and get almost 27 grams of carbohydrates. I guess I am not sure on this part and need a little more info.

    Thanks

  • @eatlikeacaveman a calorific deficit is the only thing that's going to let you loose weight...

  • @helloxjess if this man get discuraged by u sir I WILL HUNT U DOWN!!.. ok im kidding but for real u dont listen very well

  • @helloxjess if this man get discuraged by u sir I WILL HUNT U DOWN! ok im kidding but for real u dont listen very well

  • @helloxjess Short intense exercises are best in my opinion. A lot of the problem comes from that fact that when people think about exercising to lose weight they probably think about being on the treadmill for long periods of time and just overall doing something completely exhaustive. If carbohydrates are you main source of fuel this increases appetite significantly. If you give in to your hunger, you will replenish what you've burned plus more. If you dont, you'll lower metabolism over time.

  • @helloxjess I believe, though, that it is sort of foolish for "eatlikeacaveman" to tell people to eat all that they want and tell people that exercise doesnt work, without really elaborating good enough on the science. Gary Taubes among others (paleo nutritionists blah blah) books explain these principles. If you don't understand what's happening on a metabolic level this info seems ridiculous. QUALITY fats/aminos ie grassfed ruminants etc..are surely favored. Hes not an idiot, you're ignorant.

  • @helloxjess

I have a different opinion than you, and its because of personal experience. 8 weeks ago I would have agreed with you I stopped the hard exercising, switched to moderate exercising and severly modified my diet. I've lost 25lbs since and that has never happened before. He referenced a good book by Gary Taubes -- instead of calling people idiots you should read it.

  • @helloxjess Did you even listen to the content of the video? He's not saying that exercising is unhealthy, he's saying that overexercising when you're overweight is unhealthy, and that's absolutely true; it puts immense strain on all systems of the body, and is not a viable solution for permanent weight loss. Also, your body *will* think it's starving if you eat the wrong foods (read a little about leptin, the satiety hormone, if you don't understand this concept). gtfo retard.

  • Comment removed

  • @helloxjess you are a bully and sadly you need to shit on others to make yourself feel better. What's wrong with his presentation? He seems to speak just fine.

  • Comment removed

  • @eatlikeacaveman did you have anykind of caffeine in your diet?

  • @selgon01 No, I cut out all caffeine from my diet. I drank only water.

  • If excerize makes no difference then why is it that no almost no athletes are fat...????

  • @supahdupahguy81 You're confusing correlation with causation. Athletes are athletes because they are not fat. Not the other way around. Obesity is caused by a damaged metabolism and insulin resistance that Athletes don't have.

  • @eatlikeacaveman So why is it those fat people that go on p90x get results? I am not talking about the infomercials, I am talking about 2 real people I know.

  • Thanks for posting this video. You made it simple and straight forward. I've been doing the paleo diet for about a month now. I didn't even think about relaxing and recharging. I've had more energy lately, but it's good to remember to slow down and have fun.

I like your enthusiasm. :) Thanks.

  • All restrictive diets, ones which remove a food source from your diet, will result in weight loss perhaps, but how much of it can you say is fat loss? Carbohydrate restriction will lead to water loss in the short term, that is why people can say they lost as much as 10 lbs in a single week. That being said, ketogenic diets like this will work for WEIGH loss (includes muscle loss) for some people, but the body is not meant to always run on ketone bodies. Your brain needs glucose. It runs on it.

  • @Kgkahuna

Well if you even researched for a second you would know that people lose hundreds of pounds on this diet. Must be alot of water...And you are correct your brain does need glucose, but it does not need DIETARY glucose. Over 40 % of protein is converted to glucose and about 10% of fat. get with the times man, everyone with a brain knows that a high fat diet is healthier and more natural.

  • @heltfreek I respectfully disagree in that I did say that food source removal (in this case, an entire macronutrient) in a diet will lead to weight loss. And that, yes, a high-fat diet which depletes energy reserves is great for an obese, sedentary person to lose the weight. However, it is still like ANY fad diet that has come around, each with their own successes and niches. But, to say that it is brainlessly healthy is jumping the gun. There are many healthy ways to lose weight

  • @Kgkahuna since the beginning of our evolution we have been eating fatty meat and very little carbs, we've only been eating grains for about 10,000 years or so which is when fossil records show us becoming shorter and fatter, and developing cavaties. If your one of those people who believes high fat raises cholesterol (understandable considering the amount of misinformation shoved down the throats of the public.)then heres a link to an interesting study

  • @Kgkahuna Understand most people confuse wanting to losing weight with losing FAT. There is a huge difference. The losing weight part is the superficial part of dieting. But those of us who value fitness understand its about FAT loss, and the weight loss is just a perk as a result of. How is it that a fat guy and a lean, ripped dude can weigh the same and be same height, but their bodies be TOTALLY diff? Easy answer...one has lower body fat % and higher amount of solid muscle.

  • @Kgkahuna read Primal Body - Primal Mind. your body runs fine on ketones.

  • Great video. I've been paleodieting for many years now, and I'll never go back to eating non-paleo.

  • I thought the paleo diet says *lean* meats. How does fatty meat fit in here?

  • Thanks for this video. If that does not work the way you say.The problem is much bigger than fat.

  • i think this video and your opinion are massively misguided. there are many ways to lose weight/burn fat. simply because you've found a way that works for you does not mean that the other ways are wrong. 'WEIGHT LOSS = CARB RESTRICTION" biggest load of bull i've heard. being a competative bodybuilder, i've found that i can get in contest shape with high, low fat. as well as ketogenic. it depends how go about it. it's a matter of dedication. this video isn't very clever

  • I started the diet like a month ago, I lost 4kgs in around a month, before that I wanted to lose some weight(used to be 77kg), I did weight training, some hardcore thai boxing classes, and guess what I never lost a single kg. This diet is the real deal

  • what the fuck i eat plenty of carbs like bread, pasta(whole grained),fruit and stuff like that and im pretty damn fit for my age.i agree with you for the diet and no exercise part when you're massively overweight but if you just have more fat than you need to look sexy then exercise is a fucking must unless u have a PERFECT diet.

  • Ok Richard, you are most of the way there. And your presentation is really excellent. Regarding hormones, perhaps dig a little deeper, get past the superficial buzz word stuff that blinds us, and take a look at the role of Testosterone in women, and men.

Lots of the stuff you are pointing to in your diet concept increase testosterone - too bad this hormone is very wrongly linked with a lot of negative stuff.

Go ahead, dig a little deeper and blow the lid off another mass mis-conception.

  • 5:43 is where the magick is HOW TO! Ok I'm gonna see if I can lose 3# a day as you say BUT I'm vegetarian (fruits, vegetables, legumes&whole grains & water, etc) Before I hear naysayers lets see if can do. I'll start posting videos of progress.

  • Totally right Richard. Great job, great presentation. Two thumbs up.

  • You weren't supposed to eat less, bro. You were just suppose to eat healthy.

  • I went on this diet and it was too stressful. Carbs increase seratonin in your brain and with a low carb diet you might become depressed and your hair might fall out. I think the 80 10 10 is the best way to eat.

  • Good explenation

  • Wow, congrats you look great!

  • I crash dieted when i was 12. The weight fell off. I didnt do excercise.

Recently i wanted to lose weight. I ate healthy foods and excercised crazy for 30 mins a day to an hour for 2 weeks. Running! My legs hurt like crazy and i lost no weight. I dont know if it is to do with me being older or what. Maybe it was the food?

  • The Paleo diet is the ONLY diet. My allergies have all but vanished, my health improved, my energy increased, it even brought my hypoglycemia under control. Oh, and during the first year of eating strictly Paleo, I lost 60 pounds. . . without exercising. No effort, my body shed the pounds and one year later I have kept them off.

  • @ProfDeth Why are you spamming this shit?

  • stop exercise at look like what? you?

  • you kinda talk like Doctor Steve Brule.

    had to say it.

that being said, this is a very informative video, and your transformation is very impressive :)

  • @POOPINGASUSUAL - Oh, OK, sorry. So which protein do you eat during these times? I learnt that low fat, high prtoein, low carb are very dangerous, because body suppost to burn fat or carb for fuel. The fat must be coming from you. You shoul dget very hungry from no carb, high protein, low fat. Are you sure you are not eating any carbs? What would you have in a day? How do you prevent constipation during this low carb/low fat period

  • tons of veggies

  • @POOPINGASUSUAL Oh, your not on the low carb diet at al with sweet potato (alkaline and healthy) and rice and buckwheat, so your getting plenty of potassium and magnesium, doing it more sensibly than me. I just get a huge appetite when I add the carbs. thanks for your messages and best of luck. You sound keen in what you do, Good luck! Best wishes Catherine

  • @POOPINGASUSUAL thank you. The paleolithic diet doesn't have yoghurt... cows were domesticated much later, and nuts are seasonal. In nature it is like we have fish, meat, vegetables, root vegetables, weeds, grasses (according to Ann Wigmore!).

  • I can't find many sources of magnesium high enough for my RDA of 310mg. I can eat halibut, vegetables (spinach), meat, but on the paleolithic diet, I would have to have spinach daily, halibut to get my requirements. Beans and grains are loaded with Mg, as are HUGE amounts of green veg, like 6 broccoli broccoli heads, 1800 GRAMS of broccoli). How did the hunter gatherers get all there magnesium???

  • I do agree with you for I have gone low carb. But I know that fruit and nuts are seasonal. I haveeaten meat, fish, and had plenty of fats but have developed crystals in my knee, probably urate crystals caused by excess acids. (meat/fish/dairy is acidic) I am having problems getting rid of crystals and many people are getting gout on atkins. I find the only time I feel healthy is on low carb.

  • He is right!

just go low carb, high fat and protein.

HASN'T HE DONE WELL! I have lost 12 1/2 stone myself and once you know the science to losing weight your there! you may go on a tasty binge oneday but you know how to get back on the rails.

  • He is right!

  • @POOPINGASUSUAL what studies? It is a statistic. You don't find it silly that you paleo-ites base your theory on some of the least healthy populations in the world?

  • And your point is?

  • @POOPINGASUSUAL we are foragers by nature, we derive energy from what we can, plants or other animals. There is nothing "wrong" with deriving energy from an abundant source because it requires manipulation. It is a benefit of having a capable brain.

  • Egyptians showed thinning of the bones via their grain diets. Grains contains phytates and toxic ingrediants which bind to our bodies calcium, besides grains are very acidic. I can see your point.

  • Weight loss=Calorie restriction

You cannot lose weight unless you are in a energy deficit, that is simple thermodynamics, which we are all bound by.

  • @CivitasUltraAporia this is wrong. Read gary taubes book or the calorie fallacy. Low carb, high fat/protein diets (high calorie) help you lose weight.

  • @POOPINGASUSUAL nothing is "meant" to be eaten, that is a blatant misinterpretation of evolution

  • @POOPINGASUSUAL of course grains are natural, they aren't synthetically made in some lab, they have been growing out of the earth for eons

  • @POOPINGASUSUAL yeah and they have awful life expectancies

  • First you say excersice does not burn fat. Then at the end of your video you say get off your as and take action....Hello! excersice is TAKING THE ACTION TO LOOSE FAT!!!

  • Also you need an insulin spike after a good resistance training workout to start the recovery and growth period. This is when insulin is very anabolic. Also excersice stimulates more mitochondra these are the tiny little "fat furnaces" on the cellular level. So excersise does HELP burn fat...but it is only part of the equation. The other part is diet. As far as insulin you can stabalize your insulin by eating complex carbs with a bit of protien and a bit of fat every 2-4 hours.

  • Sorry this guy is a bit off base. 1.You need carbs to function every day your primary enrgy source is carbs AKA glycogen. 2 Excersice speeds your metabolsm if it is brief but intense. 3 after resistance training your body needs carbs and protein and rest to rebuild broken down tissues. 4 Other hormones are important for fat loss like testosterone and growth hormone these are secreted by the body after excersice. 5diet is the key for fat loss but excersice gets you to there a bit quicker.

  • I like your message, and I'm with you on most of it, however I don't agree with eating all of the fatty meats and butter.

  • If you don't eat fatty meats where will your energy come from on a low carb diet? If you run out of body fat your finished!

The whole point of going on a low carb diet is to use your fat for fuel. Best wishes!

  • I love that you call exercise, play! Go out and play...exercise sounds like work. Play sounds like something fun we all want to do :)

  • Good food is the best way. The ancients used to eat healthy and stay active. Cavemen didn't have twinkies or McDonalds. Not overly excercising just getting up going around.

  • LOL.....i do not want to be mean but.......

u look a bit like quagmire from family guy.....

LOL sry for the mean comment but you seriously do!!!

    sry again man....LOL

  • He's right about carbohydrates and insulin. But he is not 100% correct on the exercise aspect. If you do intense exercise for 45 min or less, lift heavy weights, and rest when you feel like it, you will produce more HGH and Testosterone. (fat burners)

He's right about not exercising to much. That will cause cortisol and muscle loss.

Think: Short intense workouts followed by adequate rest.

  • You are very cute and inspirational. I'm eating about 80% raw fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds. plus I changed my workouts from hard core 3 hour workouts to an easy going 1 hour session, and its actually working. Thanks for you video

  • You're a fuckin moron. No workout should last more than an hour, unless you take really long rest periods. As for the guy who posted this video, exercise doesn't make u fat. YOU make you fat. Don't blame exercise just because you don't have the discipline to stick with a clean diet and a good exercise program.

  • wow! I having a nice day, until I checked my e-mail and saw this message form you.

    I'm a moron?

Did you even read my post?

I said that I changed my 3 hour sessions (1.5 hours 2 x daily) to just 1 hour per day and I'm seeing better results.

I go to the gym at my university, and the majority of the girls there work out for hours at a time.

I was just doing what everyone else was doing until I decided to try something different.

    why are you so angry?

  • He looks like Quentin Tarrintino. ;)

Everyone thinks low-carb is a joke.....until they see the results. The there the ones asking you for advice. Then who's having the last laugh? Ha!

How great is it to fit into smaller and smaller jeans?

How great is it for someone you haven't seen in a long time to say to you that you look good?

How great is it to be stared at by a a stranger because you look good?

How great is the confidence you have now?

    I'd say pretty fucking great!

  • @rk9295

oh god you damn right he looks like Quentin Tarantino

  • this sounds like atkins diet..he died..doin that shit!!..all that fat is not healthy sorry dude. building muscle is good! eat less sugar fats and bad carbs, work out those muscles!. exercise is good for you long as you dont over do it, 10-20 minutes a day is a good start. Its best to start building muscle it will help burn cals all day, AND it WEIGHS MORE THEN FAT..so get off the scales and start looking in the mirror you will see the diffrence..you said some good things but somethings were off

  • hessoofficial:

#1 - Atkins died from slipping on ice walking on the sidewalk. Before his body bloated up with water when he died he was a perfectly normal weight for his height.

#2 - Fat is very healthy. Fat does not make you fat. Fat keeps you full longer. Saturated fat cures heart disease and raise Testosterone. Eating cholesterol lowers cholesterol.

#3 - All sugars are carbohydrate and all carbohydrates are sugar. They're two different words for the same thing. So get that straight.

  • But exercise improves your physical abilities and I wanna be an urban ninja.

  • you're cute fat or skinny!

  • You're completely incorrect. Whatever dietary changes you made caused you to feel more satiated, eat less, and maintain a calorie deficit. End of story. You can kid yourself about all the other crap, but it ain't magic - it's called a calorie deficit.

  • atmanx5, you're right. That's the generally agreed upon way to lose weight, by eating less calories than we're expending. I tried it and it did not work for me. I found out that caloric restriction slowed down my metabolism, and my weight loss came to a halt.

Have you ever lost over 100 pounds?

I did, and eating excess calories from protein and fat caused me to lose weight.

  • I am 100% in agreement with you eatlikeacaveman. I have lost over 100lb and I used fat and protein to stop my appetite. I exercised and this was because the got me well, I felt motivated and thanks for your vid, you look FABULOUS, CONGRATULATIONS! So many just don't understand, even tho you stand their with the proof, LMAO! You must laugh at it too, you have done GR8!

  • this is stupid

if you eat more calories in protein and fats than you need to maintain youll gain weight

to lose weight all you need is to consume less calories than you need to maintain
