I've heard the Airplane/Starship in their various configurations ever since a B-in near San Jose State maybe in 1968-69. Last time I saw Grace sang with them was at the Concord Pavilion 20 years ago (Sept 1989, where have the years gone to?)

I wish she's make another apperance at a concert, if not as a singer then just as Gracie.

Terry Nunn (Berlin) does a cover of Somebody to Love as good as Gracie ever did.

A big fan of "Crown of Creation" era Airplane, this is the last song I could like by the band such as it became. I'm a sap, and the sentiment is all there, and Balin's voice is still fantastic, even at this late date. Diana Mangano does a nice job working Slick's part.

I am a big fan of the Airplane and Starship. Marty Balin sang lead on this song, one of my all time favorites songs. But I gotta say, these guys do a fine job with this song. No where near the original but I like it. Grace Slick was one of the best female rockers of all times. I give her credit for knowing when to pack it in.

Whether you like this performance or not you probably like the studio.I love this song. I think this song has a place in everyone's heart and you may have heard it a thousand times before that happened and if it hasn't yet it can still happen and if does it won't be a miracle but i guarantee you'll believe....Can i get a thumbs up from all those who believe??

@erock8469 Yeah well, after 30 years, I'd like to think that they could at least perform to some reasonable level of reproduction... to a song that I loved in my teenage years. But they can't. Go listen to an original, and then compare it to this, there is no comparison.

Sorry I know this probably won't sit well with a lot of folks but I'm disappointed.

If they were to release this video/audio, as a new track back in the 70's, it would have fallen flat.

album back in 1975. and that was the later

phase of Marty Balin's career before the "JEFFERSON AIRPLANE". "So Lighten Up".

this guy was pouring his guts out on stage

back in 1968 with the Airplane. when I was

8 years old. I am 49 and I cant believe how he

sounds here considering his age. It's a wonder

that he still performs at all.

Great to see the flame being kept alive.I saw Starship at Knebworth England, munus Grace Slick, and I saw this incarnation a couple of years ago. And Marty is not on this, he now looks like Phyllis from Coronation St. Paul Kantner is still a genius though.
