Whats with the FBI warning?....who are they.? Someone said.. FBI means..."Fukin, Bastards, Incognito". But it wasn't me .....it was HIM.!.. over there....?
To put the Letters "FBI" before a john Martyn song is almost tantamount to musical "blasphemy". And I feel john would have agreed.
Fuck the FBI....I never said it,. it was someone else...maybe a X-FBI agent who went "AWOL" on John Martyn.
total performance.. just awesome.. an inspiration to anyone who ever picked up a guitar.. he had the pathos, the drama, the genius of beauty.. the voice.. the songs.. just the best commentator I've ever heard.. he made it ok for me to be me.. x
a man who did nothing in halves , he was committed to his songs, performances, life , yes he did get too drunk and abused people , but his body of musical genius is his license and gift to us all ..
Why very scottish? I know sometimes he layed on a thick Glaswegian accent when talking to Scottish people, but most of the time, as here, he had a southern English accent. He did after all spend most of his life in England. Most notably Hastings. But yes, I'd have to agree a man of the world.
John, I cried when Elvis died, I cried when John Lennon died (I even managed to forgive him "Woman" and "Imagin"), but when you died , I bawled like a baby!
Easy boy. but deffo on that side!!! Coolio. Bless the weather
Big kisses to you Nix! and the path you tread will spring readily with night scented stock (a sweet annual..self seeding)Once the sun goes down it stinks...but like heaven
Ha ha %-) but hey, I was only playing, can't believe what stunning performances JM put in during his time at the helm of all things great acoustic-mystical. Approaching genius at times. I'm sure you've checked out all his other ting... the sun also rises indeed, but slower for some folk ;-)
Jonny boy was, has, is, always will be the most selfish thing in the world. A big stupid drunk....who sings and plays like an angel. So all forgiven, immediatly. He has coloured my days since I was 12. Not a role model more a bad influence. A wonderful heartfelt bad influence. Like the best....but better.....
He is soo swheet because when he is good he is very very good...you know the rest!
Mr Martyn . . . you've inspired and delighted me for years . . . keep smiling, safe in the knowledge that you're making random strangers do the same . . . you rock!
This is possibly the most beautiful thing on youtube

very scottish , but always saw himself as a man of the world with no markers, a truly free artist .

You live in Antartica then yeah?
Either that or you live under a stone or should do for not being aware of John Martyn.
