@zukuru what are you using to make your weapons I have several freinda who do a remotely similar thing (look up SCA fighting and you find it) and they have to were heavy amor, made of metal or hard plastic, and whay more on there head than just a fencing mask. and I undstand that the 2 ppl in this are probably new but I didnt see any blows land or, i think, enough agression.

2. the halberd guy doesnt knows how to handle it, the halberd is original form japan, so a good halberd fighters uses it the japanese way, keep it moving, fast attacks, thats how you handle a halberd!

Halberds were used the world over and there are many different ways of using them.

@lordaxel1997 technically that japanese weapon is a glave type polearm, not a true halberd by european classifications anyway,

the one shown there IS a halberd, the naginata is a glaive, since its pretty much just a curved single edged blade on a pole.

@lordaxel1997 Um the halberd was based on the european pike in about the 14th century, and europe didnt make contact with untill about 1543. This mean that the Halbeard can't be based on any japanese weapons. Secondly if the sport in this video is meant to simulate honoralbe mid-eval combat, it would be considered dis-honorable to kill your oppenent when he is un armed.

Respectfully, I just want to share my opinion: Foam is making things to easy for this guys. As a steel fighter I can ensure there is no way to swing a real halberd or even an axe like that.I would probably not recomend to bash a steel blade against the floor. It's not good for the floor in the first place(imagine what your wife would say xD), you will for shure make it dull and it could be dangerous if it breaks and pieces fly around.As a game, it's still a hell lot of fun!srry for shity english

Very nice, but that Halberd stand-in looks kind of short. Aren't Halberds supposed to be on the order of 6 feet or more? That one only looks like it's about 4 ft. If that Halberd was 6 ft, this would have been a very different match.
