Execution style killing don't happen very often. A killer is going to do it from a "safer" distance with zero hesitation and with the least possible way of you seeing them in the case you survive, but thats why they double tap.

@FalloutGuy3 I think I saw a Navy SEAL video once that shows how you can redirect it towards the EXTENDED arm, because it's got no leverage. The guy kinda leans outta the way and pushes the arms to the side which turns the guy's body and then he is up into his body and side of the head with elbows and knees to the temple.

@dobberdoss It's a demonstration, a breakdown of the technique in it's basic stage, if they did a full on gun struggle the whole thing would look a mess and no-one would be able to see what the technique even looks like, once the technique has been learnt you can then make the drills less compliant. @MyKrOtSzIZichi1975 The weapon used was an automatic. To function, it needs freedom of the slide to move to properly load, eject and fire. If someone were to grab the weapon and the assailant pulled the trigger it would almost assuredly have some kind of malfunction. It may fire but it may also have what is called a 'failure to feed' or a failure to eject. Racking the slide after taking the weapon is a good idea to ensure the weapon is up and running.
Good Video Ray, I assume that you purposely moved your hands at a slower pace when grabbing the gun here to show proper technique, as in real life scanario- your hands would have to react between 2-3 times faster than that in order to secure the firearm before the gunman engages the trigger.(Much like a flash of lightening or a blink of an eye.) I think this is a good video. I don't know how often assailants use guns as threats at point blank range, but just in martial arts, this is to teach a counter of one of many situations.

I don't know. I have the same criticism of this video as you but I still recognize the importance in learning this. there are techniques against one handed gunhandlers and for two handed. First you learn the easy ones later come the rest. Basic principle is the same: get the barrel away from your body.

He grabs the barrel with his left hand while simultaneously grabbing the top of the assailants hand with his right hand. Then he twists the other guys hand out so the barrel points up and pulls it free.
@rprinc50 I think the first time he twisted the gun up and the second time he twisted it to the side but i think the key movement is to twist it away into the air and grab the barrel. But not towards the ground cuz youll get shot haha
Good basic technique in Shukido we use this one too except once the gun is seized we turn it intoi a Kotegaeshi wrist manipulative take down so the assailant is further comprimised by being off balance and on the ground. Great vid, thanks for sharing.

Sir, I respect your expertise, your skill, and speed. BUT, I must express doubt about your ability to jam a semi-automatic by gripping the slide. A relatively tame 9mm has a muzzle energy of around 380 ftlb's, which, by the law of conservation of energy, is about the kinetic energy of the slide, minus some taken by the arm and some lost to friction and sound. Not that it's much of an issue: striking the flexor tendons and moving the pistol makes it difficult to pull the trigger.
actually it is jammed by pushing the slide back, (out of battery I believe the term is). Grab the top and push back and bingo, all the squeezing in the world will not help the gun go off

this kind of move is one of the most common from krav maga, which is the israeli fighting style. this fighting style assumes this is a life or death situation, not a robbing, so yeah this is a move you use when you know there is no other way, not when you can just give up ur wallet.
Unless he has a partner to tie you up, that would be hard for one gun man to do. This is a threat defense. A person who wants to kill you, would not ask you to go down on your kness, he will just shoot from a distance. Even a Navy Seal can not defent a gun fire.

You're right. That is why they call this "Gun Threat Defense". There are no defense against a gun shoot out unless you have a gun also. You see this kind of position in a Bank hostage, House invations, or in the field during the war. If the assailant is for then a few feet away, you can not do anything. The point is to make them feel in control so they get close enough for you to execute and disarm him.
This isn't a chinese martial artform, it's Israeli. And yes attackers will get that close because once they have a gun in their hands they feel incredibly powerful and make that mistake. A WELL TRAINED attacker would know better than to get that close. The Six-Day War is one of the best examples of how effective Krav Maga is.
But the first and foremost principal they teach you in Krav is to give them what they want - wallet, keys, etc. If you fear they will take your life THEN you fight back.
You're right. I learned this technique from HAGANAH(Israeli Martial Arts)Blackbelt. I just changed the grip that I am used to, to make it a little bit more to my style.
Can you tell me about your training weapon? We sometimes use a real pistol (unloaded) but have trouble with the trigger guard possibly breaking fingers. Thanks. It's unwise to train with real pistols when practicing. There are so many ways to make mistakes and injure someone or death. Unless you are in military where they have real reasons why, you ask any special forces military that they do not always use real weapons for practice. A metal BB gun is good enough. They look and feel so real now that to an untrained eye. For less chance of injuries, you can use the yellow hard plastic pistol that you can buy at a local Martial Arts store.
One more thing. Practice slow to show that you are doing it right with the finger on the trigger, so you know that you can break thier finger in the technique. Then, tell your partner to take the finger out of the trigger if you wan to do it in real speed. (to save this finger) good luck.
What I use is an air soft BB gun that shoots plastic BB's, you can cut off the finger guard so you don't have to worry about breaking anyone's fingers. Just make sure everyone uses saftey glasses. Works great and you can feel the pain if you make a mistake. Great tool

Yes i can, you can everybody can pull the trigger faster than enemy can move his body. Because finger needs 1mm but enemy hands have to travel 1meter. 1mm against 1meter. The ratio is 1 : 1000. I dont believe that he is 1000 or more times faster than me or than anybody. And i dont extend my arm when fire, keep my weapons close to me and shoot immediately without any delay. Don want to scare him but till move 3 bullets will travel to his head.
remember this is an execution situation, its really your last resort, they are goin to shoot you anyway so why not try to escape. if you dont react you will certainly be killed, whereas trying something will increase your chance of escape.

@MyKrOtSzIZichi1975 The weapon used was an automatic. To function, it needs freedom of the slide to move to properly load, eject and fire. If someone were to grab the weapon and the assailant pulled the trigger it would almost assuredly have some kind of malfunction. It may fire but it may also have what is called a 'failure to feed' or a failure to eject. Racking the slide after taking the weapon is a good idea to ensure the weapon is up and running.

Good Video Ray, I assume that you purposely moved your hands at a slower pace when grabbing the gun here to show proper technique, as in real life scanario- your hands would have to react between 2-3 times faster than that in order to secure the firearm before the gunman engages the trigger.(Much like a flash of lightening or a blink of an eye.) Nice vid. My Sensei (RIP) used to be able to actually disarm someone with a gun in less than a second.. and i'm not talking just pointing the gun back at them. He would break the hand if he did it any faster. matter of fact, he almost ripped the demo gunman's finger back against his hand (the idiot had his finger on the trigger).

When you strip somebody of their firearm, you always tap the magazine and then rack the chamber. This is to ENSURE that a round is cocked, so that you can fire one off in the event the assailant continues his assault. The TRB, or 'tap-rack-bang' is well known as a way to clear jams.

Good basic technique in Shukido we use this one too except once the gun is seized we turn it intoi a Kotegaeshi wrist manipulative take down so the assailant is further comprimised by being off balance and on the ground. Great vid, thanks for sharing.

Sir, I respect your expertise, your skill, and speed. BUT, I must express doubt about your ability to jam a semi-automatic by gripping the slide. A relatively tame 9mm has a muzzle energy of around 380 ftlb's, which, by the law of conservation of energy, is about the kinetic energy of the slide, minus some taken by the arm and some lost to friction and sound. Not that it's much of an issue: striking the flexor tendons and moving the pistol makes it difficult to pull the trigger.

this kind of move is one of the most common from krav maga, which is the israeli fighting style. this fighting style assumes this is a life or death situation, not a robbing, so yeah this is a move you use when you know there is no other way, not when you can just give up ur wallet.

You're right. That is why they call this "Gun Threat Defense". There are no defense against a gun shoot out unless you have a gun also. You see this kind of position in a Bank hostage, House invations, or in the field during the war. If the assailant is for then a few feet away, you can not do anything. The point is to make them feel in control so they get close enough for you to execute and disarm him.

This isn't a chinese martial artform, it's Israeli. And yes attackers will get that close because once they have a gun in their hands they feel incredibly powerful and make that mistake. A WELL TRAINED attacker would know better than to get that close. The Six-Day War is one of the best examples of how effective Krav Maga is.
But the first and foremost principal they teach you in Krav is to give them what they want - wallet, keys, etc. If you fear they will take your life THEN you fight back.

Can you tell me about your training weapon? We sometimes use a real pistol (unloaded) but have trouble with the trigger guard possibly breaking fingers. It would be nice to train with a pistol that chambers and clicks without harming the trigger finger and without fear of it possibly being loaded. Ecxellent video by the way. Thank you for posting

Thanks. It's unwise to train with real pistols when practicing. There are so many ways to make mistakes and injure someone or death. Unless you are in military where they have real reasons why, you ask any special forces military that they do not always use real weapons for practice. A metal BB gun is good enough. They look and feel so real now that to an untrained eye. For less chance of injuries, you can use the yellow hard plastic pistol that you can buy at a local Martial Arts store.

One more thing. Practice slow to show that you are doing it right with the finger on the trigger, so you know that you can break thier finger in the technique. Then, tell your partner to take the finger out of the trigger if you wan to do it in real speed. (to save this finger) good luck.

What I use is an air soft BB gun that shoots plastic BB's, you can cut off the finger guard so you don't have to worry about breaking anyone's fingers. Just make sure everyone uses saftey glasses. Works great and you can feel the pain if you make a mistake. Great tool

Yes i can, you can everybody can pull the trigger faster than enemy can move his body. Because finger needs 1mm but enemy hands have to travel 1meter. 1mm against 1meter. The ratio is 1 : 1000. I dont believe that he is 1000 or more times faster than me or than anybody. And i dont extend my arm when fire, keep my weapons close to me and shoot immediately without any delay. Don want to scare him but till move 3 bullets will travel to his head.
