@barnzy2302 Its a praise passed down for about 600 years for the Sindhi Sufi Saint Lal Shabaz Qalander, born Syed Usman Marwandi in Afghanistan in the 12th century. He is the patron saint of the outcasts, poor and members of the untouchable caste of society and they often prayed to him through song. You can see that in these verses as well, 3:12 Mawan noo peeran bachre deena "My beloved pir, bless me with sons." Behna nou deina veer mala jhooole laalan "And give brothers to sisters Jhoole Lal"

@barnzy2302 This is about the "Red Saint" in Sehwan, Sindh, Pakistan. He achieved his status through the love of Ali(ra) the companion of the Prophet(pbuh). He used to dance in ecstasy the he got connected to the other side, hence his name "Mast Qalandar" > "The Ecstatic Dervish". The legend has it that people saw him transform into an eagle once! Every year in a ceremony at his shrine, the dervishes put off hot coal by dancing over it, without hurting themselves!

this one is Shahbaz Qalander. Jhoole Jhoole Laal is a different song, as is Dam Mast Qalander. All three are a tribute to Lal Shahbaz Qalander of Sehwan Sharif.

Nusrat was very good of course, but more importantly a good qawwal is made great by a robust group. His troupe was really wonderful. Note their enthusiasm as well as the intensity of clapping of the party at the back. They truly made magical musical evening that will not be forgotten!!
