"My partner and me... we used to get up and put our guns in our pockets like you put your wallet in your pocket. Then we go out in the streets ... we used to shoot at folks." Reuben Carter 1964, 2 years before the Lafeyette bar murder.

There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right - Dr. Martin Luther King
Research the real story for yourself. Not Hollywood's. The evidence is staggeringly weighed against him. It broke my heart when I came to this conclusion but I believe he killed those people.
I wish they could have let the prosecution have a fair shot at "here's why we think he did it" but no. That would go against the show's premise
@badtwin77 First of all, there is no such thing as irrefutable evidence and you know that. My evidence is as follows:
He changed his alibi 4 times. First one was to the cops, second was in his book, third was in his biography, and fourth are his current inspirational speeches. Artis and his alibis didn't even match when the police questioned them
His car was identified by two independent eye witnesses minutes after the murder
All of his legal witnesses said that he told them to lie for him
@badtwin77 My apologies if I sounded a little antagonistic. Not my intention at all. If you are interested in more information about the evidence against carter, I really recommend a number of internet web sites that are far more knowledgeable about the case than I.
Google the following for my favorite 2 websites.
"Hurricane Carter, the other side of the story"
"Top ten myths about Hurricane Carter"
Thank you for asking for evidence. Most have just condemned me as a racist.
Of course the film edited the story. All films based on true stories do that. Doesnt change that fact that Rubin is innocent and this is a magnificent yet tragic story

@mcgoliath97 Have you looked at the evidence? Because the movie lied, omitted, and invented most of the story to portray Carter in a good light.
Top ten myths about Hurricane Carter. Google that. The website does a good job showing the distortions.
