thank you. people need to get over it, for real. i liked jani as much as the next guy, but he didn't deal with his personal responsibilities and it was affecting the band. so, he was let go. they gave him 3 months notice to get his stuff together and he didn't do it...so that was that.
not to mention the fact this this took place back in '07 and a new record has been released which is a phenomenal addition to the SA arsenal. elias is awesome and life goes on!
I'm not against Jani at all, but it's been 2 Years now... Right Now Elias is in the same spot where Henkka was when Reckoning Nigjt was released. He's now SA, not Jani. I hate people who can't get over that after 2 years and more when Jani has a new band with top mucisians in it. Tommy had to do his military service some time ago befoere the Silence tour. Unlike Jani, he did what he had to do, was responsable and here he is today.
@ELANTICRASTO2008 Usually I'm not one to hark on member changes. I'm fine with Andi Deris, I'm fine with Matias Kupiainen, I'm fine with whoever the new drummer of Blind Guardian is, in fact, they'd make one hell of a power trio.
That being said, Elias Viljanen is a terrible fit for Sonata Arctica, until he grows a pair and starts playing some actual METAL like Jani did, I don't think I'll ever be able to sit through an EV Sonata album.
HOLY SHIT i almost creamed in my pants when Tony nailed that high note in the chorus... damn this live version is awesome, prefer it over the studio version
Is it Jani or Elias playing here? The solo is absolutely wonderful.

Anyway, today fans are divided. Some can't get over fact of Sonata making new kinds of music, and some love UNIA and TDOG.
I do just love the new SA sound...
