If so you gotta go to the store you bought it from and if you have warranty, they should give you a new one cause when i returned mine it took 5 weeks and they couldn't reapir it so they gave me a new one.

I'm a little confused, because my housemate has the original PS3 (not the slim edition), and it no longer has the game startup intro and sound. I'm guessing it was removed in a firmware updates when the released the PS3 slim. I've also noticed one they released the PS3 slim, they changed the font from the old Spiderman 3 font to the new Playstation font on both the system and the games' packaging.
