nice invention but I gotta ask this: why hasnt anybody turned steam DIRECTLY to propeller tips, rotor tips or at leas rotary eninges instead of piston engines? ... please explain?

Though I'm no expert, I'm going to guess that it's because they're much more efficient when they have the ability to be run through a gearbox... Then you have x number of gears and ratios within the RPM band as opposed to one gear in the RPM band.

@leviterande yes steam turbines were and are common--but need very dry steam- as droplets would rip apart the fans...

He's just trying to sell the rights for someone to manufacture them .Basically he's trying to make a million and cash in. He's not interested in selling the plans to any one person to make them. In other words don't bother asking.

Personally I'd love to see this rigged up to a dynamo and have us shown the volt+amps. Right now it just seems a bit speculative to be honest.

On the contrary, there is not much left to speculation on steam engines since the 1800's. For a given steam pressure, volume of cylinders, stroke and number of cylinders, the HP is a simple calculation. P*A*S*N*rpm's/ 33000= HP
