@SkinnyGibby It plays pretty nicely, but I've been feeling lately that the Pro edges slightly ahead in quality. But hey, if you're like big on undersized throws, go for the Supra.
i reallize that more strength you spend to whip the slack. the smaller the GT will be. have a slight whip so the string will fly freely to your finger.
@LLCoolZack You might have wanted to ask before ordering it... nowadays, for $85 or whatever the Axiom is, you can get much higher quality throws. It's no doubt a good throw, but man, considering how old the Axiom is now, there's no reason to get it when there's so much newer stuff out.
the key for this trick is to find a perfect moment to bring your hand forward. if you bring your hand forward at the perfect time, it will form a brent stole
@LLCoolZack Keep your freehand fairly far away from the yoyo, while still keeping the string coming from your TH middle right above the yoyo... that allows for a little bit larger of a triangle, but it's mostly just practice that lets you have more control. However, for whatever reason, you just can't get huge GT's from Brent Stole.
ok. and a lot of times when i move my throwhand up i see the loop that catches the yoyo but it doesn't go far enough to catch it. i have been trying all day. do you have a facebook?
@MitchMan136 Do you understand what's actually supposed to happen in the trick? If you're not sure, try looking up "brent stole 420 frames per second" in the YouTube search bar and clicking on the top result, which should be a video by Ibanezcollector. That video really shows in detail what's happening in the trick.
Yup, I have a FB. My full name in on my profile on here, so if you want to look me up on there, you can.
@MitchMan136 It's all about the whipping motion, really. If your Hidemasa Hook is strong, then keep that same strength when you whip for Brent Stole. The forward motion is simply to place the string attached to your TH middle finger in the way of the swinging slack so that the slack whips around it and you land in a GT. The strong whip is the most important part of the trick.
there's a fact in yoyoing: if get it once, you will get it everytime. and that works to me xD. after 1 month of practice and practice, i finally get it \m/
i just accidentally did it when i was your tut (i planned to do hidemasa hook). and it's like the movement has been memorized in my brain, and i just did it.
it's sort of muscle's memory, right?
the problem is everytime i did whiping trick, i got a shoulder pain :(
@LLCoolZack haha dude it's so cool to hear your progress in yoyoing! Congrats once again, you're learning so much!
Oh, and just relax a bit when you whip... just try to be loose and comfortable as you whip, not forceful whipping. You don't need that much power to whip around such a light object.
@1ofthemakers Make absolutely sure that when you swing the slack, it does not intersect the yoyo. You need it to be swinging freely on the side of the yoyo closest to you so that when you bring your throwhand forward above the yoyo, there's slack to swing around the string. That is the point where the string will almost guide itself into the gap of the yoyo.
best tutorial. EVER... after trying it from other tutorials for HOURS i go watch this one and try it step by step (finger waist level, practice this motion, wrap around finger)... first time doing it after "practicing" whiping string around finger I try it... AND LAND IT! first time!!! thanks a lot!! i can do it from time to time now eventho my triangles are really small ;) THANKS!
@Barokah Congrats dude! Thanks so much for letting me know, that is epic to hear. Don't worry, now that you're able to do it (even occasionally), you'll continue to gain control over it. At least, that's how it was for me. You sort of get a feel for it as you keep doing it.
@rethinkyoyo i can now land it more often and bigger triangles.. my biceps is hurting from practicing it so much lol... your tutorials are beast!! eventho the longer ones should have been splitted into a few steps ;)
@Barokah lol Yeah I've gotten that muscle pain... who knew yoyoing could be a form of exercise?
Nah man! Split up tutorials are harder to find and less convenient. :) If viewers want to split things up for their own learning, they can just watch tutorials up to a certain point, and then pick it up there again later.
Oh and btw, about Brent Stole, there is a point where you can't get that much bigger of triangles. I'm not sure why, but you just never see people getting huge triangles out of it.
@LLCoolZack Once you really understand what's going on with Brent Stole and train your muscle memory, it's honestly not that hard. I find it to be one of the easiest whips to hit now. Once you get it down, you hardly even have to aim the string. Everything just falls into place. Keep working on it! You can totally get it.
@duncandonutsert When you move your throwhand forward during the slack whip, make sure the string connected to your throwhand middle finger is moving forward ABOVE the yoyo. That should let you form the triangle correctly.
@hockeystar59 Honestly, not sure. Some people just pick up certain techniques faster than others. This is the case especially for things like Brent Stole... Sometimes all it takes is a few tries for someone to get it down, and sometimes it takes months of practice.
Man this was an awesome tut. I had been trying to do this trick for the last week and I would get it every once and a while. After realizing I had to bring my throw hand forward to get the string in the gap I can now do it 100% of the time!!! Thanks and keep it up!
@Scoobyvroom Awesome dude, glad you got the hang of it! It's a pretty cool trick to just whip out and make people go "whoah dude what was that?" Thanks for letting me know the tut helped!
@omfgitspetergriffan When you first swing the slack, the yoyo shouldn't intercept it at all. It should completely miss the yoyo and then be intercepted by your freehand index finger, at which time you move your throwhand forward above the yoyo.
@lynthefurious As stated in the tutorial, it's lifting and swinging your throwhand in a clockwise direction, followed by moving your throwhand forward as the loop of slack is forming.
Make sure you move your hand forward above the yoyo, not below.
@SALAZER2 Since I don't understand Russian, I used an online translator... hopefully it was accurate, and hopefully you translate this response.
I am sorry the swinging slack wasn't very clear in this video! Just try paying close attention to the movement of my hands, and you should have a good chance of doing the trick correctly. It is sort of a strange trick, but when you understand what to do, it's very easy. Good luck, and sorry about the language barrier... Hope you get it down.
this helps but i just cant get it :( i just keep landing trapeze's help???
