Jewel reminds me of some of the greatest blues singers that ever lived. The passion and incorporation of yodeling and that bluesy storytelling voice are way too good for the general public.

I don't LOVE the natural sound of her voice (though I do like it very well), but I have to admit she's maybe the most skilled non-opera-trained singer I've ever heard. She does things with her voice that non-opera singers almost never, ever are capable of. She's not as good as a highly trained opera singer in technical areas, but she's about as good as you can get without going through years of intense, every-day training from super-pro teachers.
