  • Cope can say what he likes about this album. The bottom line is that even though I completely sympathise with his underground stance on music, this album is an utter gem of pop and aggression, color and joy. The fact he puts in a dark song like A Crack In The Clouds tops it all for me. My all time favorite track is Laughing Boy BTW : )

  • SAAB 96 V4

  • Great song. They dont make them like this anymore.

  • Back in the booooring 80ies this was the first song that gave mie confidence and showed me that not everything was lost. This song captures all the glory of Pop Music... from the promising intro to the ecstatic guitar riff right till the climactic end... once its over, I always want to listen to it again and again!

  • Is there another version of this video? I remember seeing it back in the day and the performance part but not the car bits. I'll never forget that microphone stand!

  • shivers

  • Oh, God! 1987... I was 20! Great song and great moments of my life!

  • @alanxtc..LOL..I still have a 'bike but the cheekbones and belly ring true...

  • brilliant song...takes me back to my youth!!!

  • ...and meanwhile in the US Top 20 we had The Bangles, Atlantic Starr, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam and a whole host of other forgettable bands. Julian's label should have promoted him harder over here.

  • This song never fails to cheer me up! x

  • Great song !! Thaks

  • Made a lot of fabulous Cope/T.D.E discoveries today..unfortunately 2 essential tracks are missing.

  • Fantastic!

JULIAN COPE is one of my music heroes.

"Trampolene" remains a very good song

  • O bring back those times class

  • heard this on a jukebox the other day. blew my mind.

  • julian is a hero! in concert he had that weird microphone stand that used to extend, and he climbed up it, like a lizard. fantastic!

  • @janeyjaneybird that was sooooooo cool

  • The great pop song!!

  • Awesome. He can churn out catchy pop tunes like a pop machine, but he chooses to do difficult things instead - fair play to him

  • yeah he can but he chooses to go left of centre nearly everytime oh well thats our Julian

  • Isn't he great??

  • Best song he ever did - even those from St Julian! Takes me back to when i had cheekbones, a motorbike, and less belly than i have now LOL

    Thanks for posting the video!

  • @alanxtc Agreed, what a tune!!!!

  • @timcoe82 great song

  • What i've heard from Cope as a solo artist is too good to be true.
