Peach did glide which was helpful but luigi could jump higher which was easier for me. I could skip certain steps the other characters couldn't

I remember I maxed out on the bonus chance. I had the timing down so I was able to always get 3 stars for a total of 5 free guys. I got Q4 or it might have been Q2, I believe it was Q4 though, I was 16 at the time, I am 34 now. The total equates to 274 guys. Of course, the game was fairly easy, so I thought it was more fun maxing out on the bonus chance game.

my favorite Mario game growing up I always used Princess Toadstool she is the best player. I like the Mario Allstars version, its still the same game, just updated. BEST GAME EVER!

This isn't the orignal SMB2 released in japan. The original SMB2 was to hard, and they were scared to ruin super mario bros. in America; so they modified another Japanese game to replace it. Success ensued; and this helped make SMB3 the best(arguably) NES game ever.

i h8ted this game i luv smb2 the lost levels it looked like smb1 and was a hell of alot harder if u tell me my 3 fav are smb 1, smb2 The lost levels, and smb 3.

Luigi was always my favorite character to play as in this game. And, I loved facing Mouser at the end of World 1-3. When I used to play this game (so wish I had it again), I would often stay with Mouser for as long as possible and not be in any rush to take him out. World 2-1 became much harder for me, which is why I tried to take my time in the previous world.

such great memories of this game. i liked the POW blocks. i loved playing the mini POW games where you bump them and very thing falls and dies. made my friends mad everytime i used those POW blocks and they wanted them.

The crappy playing in this video even reminds me of when I first got the game and tried to play it with luigi...it was so difficult and yet so exciting at the same time....

they turned a game called 'dokey dokey panic' into 'super mario bros 2' because the actual super mario bros 2 was considered too hard for american audiences at the time. also, if they actually used the original 'super mario bros 2' (known as mario: the lost levels in the US), they would never had thought of shy guys, snifits(shy guys with cannons for mouths), pokeys and bomb-ombs. interesting, huh?

Graphics hack? Not so. Animation and gameplay was improved from Doki Doki Panic, and difficulty was dramatically decreased.
