This is actually the darkest scene in the film for me. The fact that Paxton is the only one left makes it eerie, and the fact that he is the only one who gets lead to the slaughter unknowingly rather than being taken by force makes it still eerier. He doesn't know he's being taken to hell, and that brunette chick makes this scene all the more evil, with her diabolical taunts and demonic laughter.

This is a REALLY evil scene if you think about it.
