In WW2, if you saw American soldiers with the Ace of Spades on their helmet it meant they were part of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment (101st Airborne) which is now presently worn by the 4th Brigade Combat Team (101st)
@chris13vchs The thought was, especially at the Somme that if the troops ran too fast they would lose cohesion when they advanced. Another mistake they made was the belief that artillery would clear the way and that it would be a walk over and clean up for the infantry.
To clear up about dirt, my great grandfather fought throughout WW1 as an officer and when he first arrived was as clean as whistle. As he told me when I was small, they stepped off the train, got taken via omnibus to the front, through comm's trenches to the front then straight into combat. He was at Mons, Ypres, Passchendale, Somme and more and lost three fingers and half. so dirt isnt really your main concern. if a bullets got your name you WILL die. if not, then dont worry.
its kinda annoying hen some of these movies they have not a touch of dirt on them or the unifom. also i highly doubt a solder would throw his rifle to the ground then jump into a deep impact crater like that
@reaperflynn3 i agree with the dirt but lots of the soldiers during the first world war had barely any training so it could be expected that they wouldnt follow procedure
@reaperflynn3 better is the French-US Movie "Mathilde – Eine große Liebe" / "Un long dimanche de fiançailles" / "Mathilde" or watch "Im Westen nichts Neues" / "All Quiet on the Western Front"
@reaperflynn3 I don't know about throwing the gun to the ground. But soldiers LOVED to use craters for cover. Look at some photos from the eastern front, I've seen entire Russian platoons stuffed into a little crater.
This is almost not real. In WWI most time you run men fall beside you bodys pilling up sometimes hands, arms, feet legs falling from the sky. God bless the men that went over.
Awesome job. I have been working recently on a WWII "film" (with Letus Extreme as well) and this has been inspiring. It is by far, in my opinion, the best on youtube. Great job, keep it up and make more! We don't usually get to see WWI and it is perhaps the more horrific of the world wars. 1:22= Brilliant!
depth? is that a movie? movie made from hobby-school-amateurs? have you EVER seen men after a physical and psyhical effort? obviously not. these actors look like smart young proffessional in a pub at friday evening and not as men which were in the trenches for even a day.
amzing depth man..its so photographic if i had money ready right now i would have definitly concidered EX3 with Letus Extreme and is kit. by the way tell me philip does ex3 or letus fit with the normal lenses..i mean if ya have connected u can put regular 35mm lenses or 16mm lenses on it rite? one thing for sure in ur demonstration ex1 alon isn't gonna impress untill u put letus on it am i right..cuz low budget people want photographic look with a smaller budget :P
Very superb! Great job on getting your hands on those costumes and music!

why people in WW1 and WW2 like to put an ace of spades card in their helmet? is it some kind of lucky charm?

in WW1 there were famous examples when they were told to walk or get shot by their own men. yes plain stupid but look it up.

It's WW1. Last real war involving the frakking Aristocracy. The last war of the Age of Empires.

Looks good, except for one thing. They live in a trench carved into the earth. They're fighting a war. So it should look like it. They're too clean.
