  • Cheap mass produced china made, may say Japan movement, spend $500.00 on the real deal...i have one that cost me $475.00 wound it once in 6 years,

  • @CharlieDoan I am not sure where this watch was made. Regardless of its country of origin, its a well made watch. The 8205 movement is made in Japan though.

  • great watch!!!

  • I am a fan of Croton and Invicta Watches. Great reliable timepieces that are priced great and perform great! 2 great watch companies as far as I'm concerned. I have bought mine through "Shop NBC" they are great to deal with!

  • What's the model # of this watch? Thanks.

  • This watch cost me $32 shipped on ebay. The original owner is a photographer and purchased it to fill his portfolio. He never wore it or even sized the bracelet. Its a serviceable timepiece for anyone wanting a Miyota 8215.

  • @MuvoTX $320 u mean? why cheaper than a quazt?

  • @CharlieDoan Not $320... this watch cost me $32 on ebay. Who knows why, its a great automatic. I have owned it now for ~2 years and it has been very reliable and accurate.

  • how much did that cost????

  • Nice review. If you can buy a Croton automatic for around $80 or less, you got a great deal. Croton has a reputation for excellent customer service & value for the money. Where else can you buy a $100 watch with a lifetime warranty? I love my Crouton automatic. It has the newer Miyota movement with a hack feature.

  • DO NOT BUY CROTON WATCHES!! They are of poor quality. I recently purchased two Croton G-12's MSRP $2,200.00 from ShopNbc just this June 2008 and the bands are already tarnishing. What's surprising is that they haven't even been worn yet and are still wrapped in the protective plastic!!

  • To discredit an entire brand because of one model is very narrow minded. The watch you see in my vid cost me $31 shipped on ebay. Its solid stainless except the end links... and has a feel of heft and durability that blows away other watches under $100.

The Miyota 8215 movement is extremely accurate and has thus far proven to be just as good of a mechanic as ANY high end movement.

Good Luck with SNBC CS... I have heard bad things about their customer service.

    peace-out

  • Also... have you considered the fact that perhaps your skin oils, chemistry and sweat do not react well with certain metals? Thats not uncommon, depending on the individuals body chemistry. Thanks for the tip though on your particular watch... I won't be adding that one to my collection. I can think of at least a dozen watches I'd rather be wearing that a Croton... in the 0-$2000 price range.

    8^)

  • The watches have never been worn. They were kept in a humidity free environment with my other watches and they still deteriorated before my eyes. By the way, the vaunted Croton customer service has still not returned/repaired the watches.

  • Over-priced..chinese quality (mass produced) watches supported with zero customer service. Oils?? Like I said they started rusting in their boxes as they were intended to be worn for an anniversary celebration. My watch repair person said that the metal was of poor quality.

  • You are missing the point of this review... At the $35 price point, there are good watch values out there to be found. And thats what this model is all about. Its nothing fancy, nothing flashy and nothing unique. It keeps accurate time, and has been reliable during my 15 months of ownership.

I can feel your pain though, a $2200 watch should not fail. But to say ALL watches at any price points are poor... is wrong

  • cool see through back
