@TheAdam159:& little did you know 2 months ago when you wrote about Bill Ward being Healthy for the tour that Tony Iommi would find out that he had the early stages of Lymphoma Cancer! But let's hope that Tony beats it & can go on writing new material for the new Black Sabbath album & hopefully tour as well!
wow, great job. I love this song, it's so awesome. I can't wait for the new album, I hope it's as awesome as this song. I'm sure it will be, Tony Iommi can always come up with awesome stuff as shown here, the Iommi-Fused album, and the Heaven & Hell (Black Sabbath With Dio Line-up of Mob Rules & Dehumanizer)-The Devil You Know album
@saigawhite308 .....Fuckin' shitball Ozzy is a founding member.. ..dio was great, but Ozzy is the og front man and always will be. ...so. ...FUCK YOU! you cock sucking motherfucker!
Wow just found out about this song. This is fantastic. If the new stuff is like this i'll be very happy. Iommi has never let me down...his solo stuff, his heaven and hell stuff, and of course his black sabbath canon is all brilliant. I have great faith that he won't let us down with this new album.
We need another kickass original Sabbath record to properly finish off their legacy. Never Say Die was OK, but not the album for them to go out on. I just hope Rubin doesn't screw this one up.
@TheAdam159 heres the thing they are working on a new record but Rick Rubin is working on it...so it will either be a masterpiece or a turd its never in between with him but ive been waiting for a new original sabbath record for a LONG TIME
@TheAdam159 How can rubin screw it up???? the man SHITS GOLD records for a living it seems..his resume is so good it's like if a musician put "Played with Jimi Hendirx"
its being rumored that black sabbath (the original line up) is getting back togeather and making a new album let us all pray that these rumors are true
@Youngheadbanger1997 How many bands who put out their first album in the 1960's are still able to do a full reunion with all the original members? I mean, these guys go WAY back. I'd love to see another reunion. And maybe the reunited Cream could open for them. ;-)
@RRJackson : Definitely. A full reunion would be something. I saw Ozzy AND Motorhead in 2010 in Saitama, Japan. I honestly wish I could've seen them when I was younger, and they had more life to them.
@Youngheadbanger1997 It's no rumor anymore, it was announced on 11-11-11 that there is going to be an entirely new Black Sabbath album (been waiting 33 years!!!!) with a corresponding tour. Rege Satanas!
This is awful, this is not Sabbath, This sounds like a song that would have been left off a late period Ozzy solo album Blech. If they get back together, seriously, do not to to 'update' or 'modernize' the sound, just do what made people love you.
@MarcusErection Aw man, that's not very charitable. Iommi always sounds like Iommi. It doesn't sound like an Ozzy solo tune to me. It may not sound like it was recorded in 1971, but not all Sabbath sounds like Master of Reality.
@RRJackson It does not have to sound like 1971, but it should resemble a raw heavy rock band, not over processed computer recorded junk anyone could have slapped together in a half hour. This shows none of the heart and soul of what made Sabbath Sabbath, this is just a bland, by the numbers Ozzy metal song. Sabbath blows minds, this just blows.
@MarcusErection "computer recorded junk"...you know that nobody makes 2" magnetic tape anymore, right? So ALL music is recorded by computer now. It's fine, though. You wanted Sabbath Bloody Sabbath II and didn't get it. Which is fine. No album is going to please everyone.
@RRJackson There are many studios that record to tape still, they should go to Chicago and record with Steve Albini, problem solved. I do not want SBSII I just want something GOOD, this is not it at all. This is weak.
@MarcusErection Tape is overrated. I don't miss audio tape. I don't miss video tape. I still use film because it brings something to the table that video doesn't. Not better or worse, just different. Tape not so much, unless you like hiss. I also don't miss calibrating 24 inputs to test tones once an hour or so. I also don't miss tape's 50 Hz to 16 kHz ±3 dB (0 VU, 30 ips) maximum theoretical frequency response or its 70 db of dynamic range.
@RRJackson All the computer stuff takes away all the little 'mistakes' that make something truly unique and lasting. Now, with the press of a button everything is 'fixed' and made 'perfect'. A band need not be completely solid and tight because it's all too easy to manipulate and 'fix' All the computer recorded stuff sounds the same to me, it sounds dead to me. I am afraid none of this age of music will ever be 'classic' and stand out, because it's all so similar sounding, sonically.
@MarcusErection There's no reason for recordings made on computers to sound any different (other than being sonically superior) than recordings made to tape. While it's certainly true that you can edit things to death these days, you certainly don't have to do it. And not everyone does do it. The most obvious example being symphonic recordings, which are normally not edited in any way. In the case of those recordings the computer just becomes a "tape deck" that doesn't hiss or run out of tape.
@RRJackson They sound different because of digital compression, but ok, if bands recorded stuff LIVE these days with minimal overdubs, as was the norm in the past, even on computers it would sound a lot more natural and exciting. I am afraid most bands just are not that tight anymore, not that good because they have gotten lazy from how easy digital recording is. You don;t even have to sing in tune anymore, you know?
@MarcusErection Actually, analog tape suffers a lot worse compression than digital. Rock producers used to use "tape compression" on tracks by slamming the levels and letting the tape compression smooth everything out. Digital has WAY more dynamic range than tape, though. A typical ProTools HD rig these days has 122 db of dynamic range as compared to 70 db from 2" tape (sans NR). The problem is that they squash the final mix so it will be loud. But a lot of times the Japanese release is better.
@RRJackson Well, whatever it is, to my ears I like stuff recorded on tape way better than anything digital, I can tell in a matter of seconds. I'll call it, then look it up and yep, recorded on tape. Every time.
@MarcusErection - The music I listen to, no amount of computer work can fix the 'mistakes'. They must be very proficient and tight for the music I listen to, mostly extreme metal and technical stuff. Stuff that is composed very clever. written well, and doesn't rely on the recording medium.
Good music can be recorded on a 2 track tape recorder or a billion dollar recording house, and still be just as amazing. The problem with 'too perfect' can happen on tape or digital, its the player/producer.
The computer doesnt take away any mistakes on its own, its up to the producer/engineer to improve or fix the music. Some people play too perfect, their guitar tone is too stale, or their producer re-takes and mixes/manipulates until it is TOO perfect... not great for rock music, maybe good for pop, but we need the dirt! So really its these current producers and their schooling and abuse of technology, aka they suck. A good producer can make it SING and maintain the organic sound captured if good
i personaly loved the last album with dio...i personaly would love them to pull that sme kinda magic with ozzy again. i just hope they dont go back to glenn hughes or god forbid ian gillian
@RRJackson I think they shouldve taken some time off when dio left and not put out albums for a couple of years or at least did some solo work. They had been making albums for well over a decade and had already had thier second wind. Plus born again was released in 83 the same years as bark at the moon and holy diver. there was no way it could have competed with those albums.
@ShaneDawsonfan47204 I don't know if you noticed, but I put a shot against that line where he shakes his head kind of like he's trying to tell himself that it's not true. I liked the way that worked out.
Although, judging by what Ozzy did to Blizzard and Diary (re-recording the bass and drums to keep from paying any more royalties to the original musicians), and of course the way Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio was no longer allowed to be called "Black Sabbath"...well...Ozzy may be a pretty douche-y guy to be in business with.
@RRJackson Well, I read an interview with Tony where he said if they had tried to record the Heaven and Hell album with Ozzy it would have taken years but it took a month or so with Dio.
Also, I don't think re-recording the tracks can stop him from paying royalties to the original musicians. They still had songwriting credits (I checked) which means they are getting songwriting royalties every time that CD sells. I don't know if there is a "performing" royalty and I could be wrong about wrong.
@sonicdeath10 You're right, they still get any publishing royalties that they're entitled to, but as I remember it the disagreement was over their performer's mechanical royalties and Ozzy kind of ended future debate by just replacing them on the first two albums. Which would be kinda like replacing Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding on the first two Hendrix albums. Sure, you could do it...but you'd have to be a gigantic douche to even consider it.
@RRJackson When I say the Heaven and Hell album, I mean the one they did with Dio a few years ago under the name Heaven and Hell, not the Heaven and Hell album by Black Sabbath.
@sonicdeath10 Yeah, I consider the recent album they put out with Ronnie (RIP) a Sabbath album. They went on tour with the Mob Rules/Live Evil/Dehumanizer lineup, they played Dio era Sabbath songs, it was Sabbath. They called it 'Heaven and Hell' because of the then legal troubles with the Osbournes. I'm pleased to hear the original lineup are reuniting! I just hope Bill is up to the tour, he's had health issues lately
@RRJackson wait...the group FUCKED Ozzy and fired him and kept most of his earnings etc. al. If ozzfest is the only gig the rest of them can get today, all hail Ozzy the Douche!!!
@jklobach Eh, that whole split seemed really complicated. I don't know that you can blame any one side in that. Ozzy left for a while to go solo and then came back to the band, cut one more album, then had a bunch of issues with Iommi and the band split up. I mean, Iommi fired Bill Ward around that time, too. It seems like they all kind of hit a point where nobody was really enjoying working together. Ozzy's reputation for being high a lot worked against his solo deals at first, though.
No, Ozzy normally didn't write his own lyrics. To say Ozzy never wrote his own lyrics is bs, I mean he even made the music on one of the songs. Everybody just had their own thing to do (Ozzy's was to make the melodies). Plus who cares if Ozzy doesn't write the lyrics, Geezer is one of the greatest lyricists of all time and is leagues ahead of any memeber to ever enter Black Sabbath lyrically including Dio.
@ShaneDawsonfan47204 Holy crap, I am the oldest living human on the planet. I remember riding my Harley down to West Palm Beach to see the reunion tours in '97 and '99. Kept hoping they'd play "Psycho Man" in '99, but it was all classic Sabbath. I was an old guy back then. Now I'm the Crypt Keeper. Heh...
@Greendaylovelove not really cause it sounds like tony iommi and wtf its the first song they recorded in 24 years so they all got better rmember if it where not for ozzy or sabbath there might not be a marylin manson to brag about
I love Sabbath always have always will. At 3:07 and beyond it sounds like something off of Symptom of the Universe, and thats saying a LOT. They need to give it one more last go while they are still in there early 60's. ONE MORE ALBUM WITH OZZY SABBATH, come on!!
@trexmike If you mean Jason Voorhees then no. Psycho is completely different from the Friday 13th series. Psycho deals with a 100 percent realistic serial killer Friday the 13th deals with mass murdering killing machine. They are completely different the only horror the really compare to Psycho would be Halloween. Norman Bates and Jason are not at all similar.. Norman Bates wasn't the Jason of the 60's. Just like Jason wasn't the Norman Bates of the 80's.
i just turned 53, always have been a sabbath fan; seen them 8 times, but this song hold's memories for me, it was the first song i heard on the radio when leaving the hospital after my dad died (1998) he was 76 , a ww2 vetertan and a lover of music and incouraged me to keep playing my guitar! his favorite rock band was (boston)
In real life the killer was Ed Gein, who was also the basis for Leatherface in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and a couple of other serial killers. In this movie, killer was Norman Bates.
is the my best song of 1998 !!!!

Nothing mean to all to all the Black Sabbath fans now ;).
But i think this song sounds exactely like a Marilyn Manson song ^^
am i right or wrong ? x)
but it's a good song ;)
Greendaylovelove 1 year ago
@Greendaylovelove
i dont think it sounds like Marilyn Manson at all (MM is great though)
this is just a darker song than what Sabbath usually does, especially around the time when this song was made
MetalHeadFilipeG96 1 year ago
@Greendaylovelove not really cause it sounds like tony iommi and wtf its the first song they recorded in 24 years so they all got better rmember if it where not for ozzy or sabbath there might not be a marylin manson to brag about

I love Sabbath always have always will. At 3:07 and beyond it sounds like something off of Symptom of the Universe, and thats saying a LOT. They need to give it one more last go while they are still in there early 60's. ONE MORE ALBUM WITH OZZY SABBATH, come on!!

Wowee good track for such an old school movie.Fits old Normee to a T.

wow so uhhhhh was this the jason of 1960 please comment back and this should be jasons new theme song
trexmike 1 year ago
@trexmike If you mean Jason Voorhees then no. Psycho is completely different from the Friday 13th series. Psycho deals with a 100 percent realistic serial killer Friday the 13th deals with mass murdering killing machine. They are completely different the only horror the really compare to Psycho would be Halloween. Norman Bates and Jason are not at all similar.. Norman Bates wasn't the Jason of the 60's. Just like Jason wasn't the Norman Bates of the 80's.

Ed Gein
TheOfficialPsycho60 2 years ago
In real life the killer was Ed Gein, who was also the basis for Leatherface in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and a couple of other serial killers. In this movie, killer was Norman Bates.
