He is amazingly talented. I only hope that one day I can play the flute as well as he and my teacher can. Oh and the girl who gave him the lei is my classmate, a pianist.
He won a competition and this was the concert where all the winners performed (2 pianists, 1 guitarist and him.) He performed all 3 movements but I was only able to take a video of the last part of the 2nd the the entire 3rd because I was busy taking pictures during the 1st.
And I seem to remember him saying that the orchestra started playing fast so he had to keep up with them and started playing fast too. LOL
I know this Mr. Raymond Sarreal... he is ONE of the ASIA's famous young flutist... And he was once a member of the Asia Youth Orchestra... He's very great...
Way to fast. Violins isn't really working togheter. And the rapid moments are to fast. It's not cool to play fast. Just technique in it. But it was good. Just slow it down a little only.
yea it kind of sounds like a student instrument - but I really think he's playing the hell out of it. Very nice!!! Mozart was so evil to flute players, I think he did lovely on this.
Muramatsu makes incredible instruments. I have a miyazawa silver heavywall with a Muramatsu standard wing lip headjoint and it is absolutely amazing. A LOT of professionals have a great deal of respect for the Japanese Flute makers. He does have an incredible tone, he should get a better instrument to not hold him back.

My god... I wish i could accomplish a vibrato as well as he has.

The tone is jaw-dropping-- the fact that he can get that much out of a studen flute is incredible. Wonder why he had to perform it though O_O;
Ditto what everyone said about the Rondo speed, though if I could ever tongue the notes that fast, I'd try for that speed too x)

I agree, the rondo is too fast, you can hear the violins not being together. The flutist was good though.

It's a Muramatsu flute. He said it's a student model and he's not too happy with the way it sounds. ;)

@Adashki I never recalled that Muramatsu made student models... they start at 4000 and above.. all handmade. Interesting.
