I loved to sign up as an observer for the PP1 PP2 PP3 checks. Emergency Decent, Steep Turns [Left and Right] and Stalls... The really good Stalls!! FCFs were pretty cool too! Great Pilots. MAD comps were a blast as well. But I left VP-4 [Crew-8 91-98] after getting degree and retiring from USN to become a Arizona Highway Patrol Officer. I still miss VP... AT1 Matt Villa
Feather one to save fuel and then have #3 ...internal buse power...shut down on you for no particular reason. Consult NATOPS....? ....no time>>>call a bailout and try to restart. When you reach 2000 feet from a start of 20000 in about 15 seconds...that's a descent....open door and this will start engine 3. P3B's don't like to be abandoned inflight between Agana an Barbers Pt. VP6 detached in 75. From my flightlog book. White knuckle debrief resulting. New pchute record of 25 seconds.
