For those who say you need a mobile me account (me.com) just put your itunes account which could be (example@yahoo.com) or just example. If you have a just example then add me.com. If you have example@yahoo.com just use that with your itunes account password. Hopefully this gets you starting. PM me if you want step by step.

FOR 3GS USERS:

1.) Go into the At&T or Apple (or now, Verizon) store to use the newer devices.

2.) Go to Settings/Mail/MobileMe

3.) Click "Add Account".

4.) Enter your Apple ID info. Must have an account with Apple ID in order for this to work.

5.) After registering with MobileMe for free, delete your account off of the store's iPhone 4, iPad, or iPod Touch.

6.) Go home to set up your Find My iPhone application via me(.)com and you're all set!

I gotta say... Anyone that may have stolen the apple product is surely smart enough to turn that off. If I stole one, I'd turn off the location services within minutes. I recommend iTracker. It will send preset messages to preselected phone numbers if a different sim card, containing the location of the device. If someone puts a sim in my phone, my two sisters and girlfriend get a text every fifteen minutes. you can also set warning messages. and password the whole app. its in cydia
