  • i can never get this bus round nyc

  • there retired because they had problems on the micro tube so there are no more there:(

  • Unfortunately I heard they got rid of these. Such a shame, never got a chance to ride them. Probably would've been good for the low usage LIB routes.

  • they goin to Micheal J Quill depot? then roll em out on the M22 already!

  • I've never seen those buses on any of the Queens lines. Only available in Manhattan?

  • Interesting how they have all those stop request buttons in addition to the cords. The PVTA Gilligs have one stop request button, on the right side just in front of the rear door. Other than that its all cords.

  • Do these quiet hybrid buses have smooth acceleration or what! Better performance, fuel efficiency and lower emissions. What a concept! We need many more of these on our streets.

  • you are so lucky to have these! i only have optimas......

  • I'm not feeling this bus. Something about them rubs me the wrong way. Give me an RTS, a REAL bus, anytime of the day or night.

  • are these the ones that "smiles"

  • I wonder why NYC Buses cant get the sign that tells the riders info like Long Island Bus?

  • All M34 buses now have GPS enabled information onboard, all served by Orion VII NG buses.

  • These things are SILENT. Damn!

  • These buses kick ass. I wish DC and Baltimore would get these.

  • baltimore does have one

  • I'm talking about MTA Maryland, not Charm City Circulator.

  • maryland does have one

  • No we don't. I live here. MTA Maryland doesn't have a Designline bus. We only have Flxibles, NABI's, Neoplans, and New Flyers.

  • @tdibble16

The city of Balitmore just placed seven of the Olymbus models in service. They aren't associated with MTA...yet

  • You know what's funny?

We're getting good buses from a company we don't usually get buses from...

As a matter of fact, have we ever gotten DesignLines before?

  • Once, a 35ft demo, that was it.

  • Thanks for this interior video, even if tho I wasnt feeling the bus.. It shows me what's likely in the works for our common, mass transit future. Not good;(

  • This bus has a very plain interior. Absolutely NO WOW! factor with the interior. This bis is not leaving a good impression on me.

  • and what kind of interior were you expecting, something so cramped that you cant walk through the bus?

  • I was expecting an interior with some LED displays showing information for riders, but then again this is NYC so I shouldn't expect that until 2020. There is absolutely nothing displayed in the interior. They also could of had colorful lights and a floor with nice carpet and MTA logos displayed on it.

  • And you would expect this from the MTA, why? lol

  • Caitsith810, my apologies if I replied to you before, as it was unintended. The comment above was made in reply to JW72093 who seems to have a shtick for the ridiculous, the gimmicky, impractical or just plain ludicrous imo.

  • I dont think you replied to me o_o

  • It seemed like a glitch - my replies to that clown were showing up underneath yours. ....Anyway, thanks=)

  • if MTA is so perfect why dont they tell you the next stop like the TTC does

  • Hold up, the MTA isnt perfect. Its fucked up in a million ways

  • hows that

  • what bus got replaced by this one

  • You're joking or you're simply trolling. How about this: imo, there's been no better bus design than the conventional RTS (04's-WFD 08's) and I believe we should have stuck with them. It's a most elegantly-styled bus, a bus of curves and also angular symmetry/proportion, a bus with a ruggedly independent, super-duty structure & character, built with integrity and overall durability. Why all the nonsense about these ugly little gimmicks you're spouting off about and suggesting?

  • Wow!

This bus sounds like an electric vehicle rather than a bus with a diesel engine and overdrive transmission, like the Orion VII hybrids...

    good job

  • Hey sammy, I thought you liked TMC's/Nova/RTS's and others super-duty buses. Was I, maybe, mistaken?

For the record, this bus is basically all-hybrid, using only diesel oil with a microturbine motor mated to other electrical motors powering the wheels. It is a non-stroke engine with no reciprocation, no block, rods, cams, cranks, injectors, etc. It isn't an internal combustion engine in any conventional sense.
