sounded like "Chime" but deeper. was this running on 24V or more? i ran my Commander 4 off of 31V, and the "Mechanical Code 3" sounded a lot deeper.

nope, remember the 4001 code 3 have the 2.5 second pause instead of the usual 1.5 second pause on code 3.
