  • Thanks for uploading this. On vinyl, no less. Very nice.

  • perhaps one day the director of this episode of 1984 will come out and apologize for denigrating a beautiful and superbly crafted work of creative musical art. ie. 1984 by the Eurythmics.

you hurt us man - Annie and Dave worked hard and put their heart and soul into this and you wanted the limelight for your own creation and yours alone.

you english can be a funny bunch.

  • It is good that this nauseating Eurythmics crap was removed from the brilliant film, 1984

  • flaming asshole

  • Three people are inner party members.

  • I have danced to this song in a candle lit room with my eyes closed, and it's cathartic. Hell, darken a room and dance to the whole album...you'll find you hit pretty much every emotion.

  • I just visited the Victoria and Albert museum in London where there was an exhibition in the theatre and performance section by Annie Lenox. There were artefacts and costumes relating to the Eurhythmics various albums , but (some one can correct me if im wrong ) there was nothing relating to the 1984 Album which is a shame as I think its one of there best and most creative.

  • oh wow! i haven't heard this in about 15 years... thanks so much!!!!

  • I suspect Trent Reznor has this album

  • @manoova haha, that's exactly what I thought!

  • @manoova Like David Lynch must have seen NIGHT OF THE HUNTER by Charles Laughton...

  • This song is amazing! It shows Annie's talent as a vocalist because she expresses so much emotion without ever saying a word. It also makes me want to dance in a candlelit room with my eyes closed.

  • love this song

  • I like all the songs on this album too. Anything they did was good. This song brings out that great 80s sound!

  • hey i was just curious if any knew where to get the actual movie version of this song without the voice and the extra sounds. the one in the film is much more eerie . im surprised no ones mentioned it.

  • wooooooahhhh some balls!!!

  • amazing track

  • Bought the album again.

  • Look everyone!

Big Brother is watching you! :D

  • Also , I remember the director slaging off Virgin films at the British film awards in 1984 for putting music by a pop group he had never even heard off on to his film,

I cant help wondering,if because in 1984 he may not have heard of the Eurhythmics

If he now in 2009 feels differently about it and might even like Anne Lenoxs records

A version of the film using more of the Eurhythmics music could be released.

  • I think the last time I saw the film they had removed the eurhythmics music all together.

Which is a shame as it worked so well with the film,

I think it was all Virgins fault or something

  • You've must of been sleeping because the some music was played. John Hurt and Richard Burton was an classical music.

  • I succeeded in hearing "Minisrty of love" in a different arrangerment.

  • I have a copy of the film that has no Eurythmics music... which I found so odd because they are credited for the music in it. However, Netflix' website has what I think is the original film, with clips of Eurythmics in it.

  • Go 'head and scat, Miss Annie. Love you.

  • this is the perfect backdrop for putting your tune that you well like on youtube, innit.

  • best album of the Eurythmics.. for ever

  • If memory serves, it did. In fact, I'm certain it is. It used (in part) during the scene where Winston wirtes in his diary 'bout the 50-year-old whore he sleeps with. He says in it, when he saw what she looked like under her made up face, 'I did it just the same' hence the title.

  • I take it this particular track from the 1984 soundtrack never saw the light of day on the film?

  • This is absolutely one of my all-time favorite albums... I'm particularly fond of this track... thanks for posting!

  • This is in my Top 5 soundtracks ever written.

    THANK YOU!!

  • my favorite eurythmics album. The production is well ahead of it's time. every tune is amazing. Man I saw it second hand today, why didn't i buy it???

  • eurytmics once again kick assssssssss.

  • great bassline there

  • amazing song!

  • i was always impressed with annie's vocals on this one--well--i am always impressed--but i just really loved this when i first heard it.

  • im suprise that you know that album of this movi and eurytmix

  • OMG Thank you SO much for posting this... I was 16 in 1984 when I bought this album on (cassette of course) and I loved it so much, never got to see the film though, probably banned in Catholic Ireland! Go the album since on cd, Julia has got to be the greatest love song ever written, the video is stunning... MORE PLOISE!

  • fantastic. thank you very much. can you post the whole soundtrack. the movie was a wonderful rendition of the book, which I am quite certain Orwell would have been reasonably pleased with.

  • Thanks.

I'm not going to upload the whole album though. You can probably find the CD for a reasonable price if you want it.

  • I post stuff people do not put up. I also put up my favorites. I always search before posting to find what is missing on youtube--

  • please post ministry of love extended. it has never been issued on CD or CD-single and my vinyl is kind of.. scratched :)
