Sherone has a similar mind issue like Asafa Powell. They both have not proven to me that they have the mental toughness when it comes to really big events like Olympic and World Championship. Veronica has proven her self, Veronica is the only female sprinter in history to win 100 titles at the IAAF World Youth (1999 in Poland), World Junior (2000 in Chile) and World Senior championship (2007 in Japan) levels.
I do agree with you....Sherone is fast and so is Asafa but they have mental issues with Championships and Olympics...they will tear up the grand prix and that seems to be it. As far as the olympics goes for this year I am not even going to bank on them for individual races and that's just being real right now.

At the 90m point, Veronica was clearly in the lead. Her lunge, as well as trying to stay in her lane thus leaning to her left, caused her valuable real estate. Jeter's finish was good, but she came close to Veronica because Veronica did not drive through the line and she did not lean forward.

Big up Lauryn Williams and Tori Edwards for a great run with the race this close, This race would be reminscent.of the Carl Lewis Ben Johnson Linford Christie, Frankie Fredricks Worlds Fastest Olympic 100 metres when 6 of the 8 men clocked under 10 seconds. But Jamaica is truly a great island a sprint factory for someplace that small, with no money and no first world tracks and support system to have such an effect on Track and Field is mind boggling.

yes...Veronica didnt have a good start but she had a fast ass finish. Actually she is the fastest finisher i know (she even said that she runs faster when she plays catch up). I'm proud of her, but i think if Sherone Simpson was not injured that she would have blown the track away with about 10.85 sec. I cant wait for her to get fit again.

The problem is that from the other side of the race it looks like Lauryn won the race. But regardless, they both did their thing and I'm happy for both. In particular Lauryn. Her body has been against her all season, but she always does well the more races she can do in a short period of time. I was impressed with Veronica Campbell's comments about Lauryn after the race. The medals were well earned by all three of them.
dont forget too that Veronica was injured last summer and that she was out for a whole season or more. She came back this summer with a bang. I'm proud of Lauren Williams too (she's good) considering that she had some set backs though. She didnt do too well in the US national championships though (i didnt think she would have pulled through to get a silver medal (so way to go!!!)

Most Africans were captured by Europeans, all you have to do is read the accounts of slaves that were captured and lucky enough to learn to read and right, and then write memoirs. This is going to be a good race at the 2008 Bejing Games! Jeter had a good finish. Williams too. So did Edwards. All from the USA. Campbell runs a better 200 meters, but she won here. She lost to Felix big time in the 200 meter final. Go USA!

During the slave trade, the white people took only the strongest and fittest Africans to do their slave work. Thus, when they arrived in America, they would only mate with each other. That created a stronger group of a group that was already strong. That is one reason and probably the biggest reason why black people are successful in sports.

At the 90m point, Veronica was clearly in the lead. Her lunge, as well as trying to stay in her lane thus leaning to her left, caused her valuable real estate. Jeter's finish was good, but she came close to Veronica because Veronica did not drive through the line and she did not lean forward.

Big up Lauryn Williams and Tori Edwards for a great run with the race this close, This race would be reminscent.of the Carl Lewis Ben Johnson Linford Christie, Frankie Fredricks Worlds Fastest Olympic 100 metres when 6 of the 8 men clocked under 10 seconds. But Jamaica is truly a great island a sprint factory for someplace that small, with no money and no first world tracks and support system to have such an effect on Track and Field is mind boggling.

Nallis01 yeah Sherone is injured in fact she couldnt even dance at her birthday party two weeks ago ie August 12th (she turned 23) .. but judging from her blistering run at he Commonwealth Games and her 10.82 seconds at Champs if she was not injured this would be one heck of a race.

She was the star last couple months ago and should be runnig better than that whole pack right now. heard she was injured; not sure.

yes...Veronica didnt have a good start but she had a fast ass finish. Actually she is the fastest finisher i know (she even said that she runs faster when she plays catch up). I'm proud of her, but i think if Sherone Simpson was not injured that she would have blown the track away with about 10.85 sec. I cant wait for her to get fit again.

Cmon Guys dont be emotional Haters if you know IAAFA Rules there is no doubt that Campbell won the race, remember your torso has to cross the line first, so if you have a long neck or long feet you cant just push it over the line and win the race, Lauryn Williams did extremely well and should be justifiably proud but Veronica Campbell won the race and is truly deserving of the Title Fastest Woman in the World ..Big up Veronica Campbell

The problem is that from the other side of the race it looks like Lauryn won the race. But regardless, they both did their thing and I'm happy for both. In particular Lauryn. Her body has been against her all season, but she always does well the more races she can do in a short period of time. I was impressed with Veronica Campbell's comments about Lauryn after the race. The medals were well earned by all three of them.

dont forget too that Veronica was injured last summer and that she was out for a whole season or more. She came back this summer with a bang. I'm proud of Lauren Williams too (she's good) considering that she had some set backs though. She didnt do too well in the US national championships though (i didnt think she would have pulled through to get a silver medal (so way to go!!!)
