  • i remember marlin's car that sounded like an indy car that year, awesome!

  • I was at this racing sitting in the infield in turn four. nothing better.

  • Gosh, nothing any of those guys could do. Sterling was just booking out front, and you could tell that those Dr. Gas pipes made a difference. Even in the draft, it was evident that Jarrett (with perhaps the best engine package in the field with Robert Yates) just had no way to get around Sterling there. Those 5 horses, although miniscule, made a hell of a difference and McClure was genius to have collaberated with Boyd Butler. Good win Marlin, in his own right he ran a perfect final 5 laps

  • My favorite driver!

  • yes we do

  • taht is my husband holding the sterling marlin flag i'm on the right i have not seen that footage in years awsome race

  • after mark martins crash in 1994 they took out the grass

  • Shame Morgan-McClure allowed its team to get so bad that they shut down after last year. It sucked to see them struggle after being so good back in the 1990's.

  • My first in person NASCAR race!! I will never forget the speed, I was hooked.

  • farewell morgan-mcclure

  • Very cool footage of that race. I love the camera angles they used back then.

Sterling Marlin was the plate king back in the mid 90's. I heard that they used a unique setup with the exhaust system that allowed their car to ride faster at the plate tracks.

  • They were the first to use the X-pipes on the exhaust. If you cross them in the right spot, it can increase the hp.

  • This is when racing was good. There was no gear rule and no shock rule. NASCAR has made racing stale and boring. Even though its better than watching IRL/CCWS.

  • Ken Squier is one of the best motorsport commentators ever.

  • "Civil War Buff" leave it to Squire to give irrelevant refrences.

  • lol! It's sorta relevant, 'cause it was between the South and the North, and there are some Southern drivers and some Northern drivers. Still funny, though.

  • Ken Squier called Sterling Marlin a "Civil War Buff" because Sterling collects items from the civil war. So it wasn't irrelevant.

  • Was that Brian Whitesell that they showed on the 24 pit box?

  • Hmm. You know, it did kind of look like him.

  • Yeah, he was there for some time before getting to be interim crew chief when Evernham left. Some people embellished the story of how crazy it was that he won 2 races by saying he had never been to the track with the team before, but I knew better.
