any muffler shop can do that for you. You do realize kawi relocated the exhaust for the 2009, right? it lowers the center of gravity and adds to the GREAT handling of the bike. regardless, do what you want to the bike so long as you keep reppin for Kawi.
i live in england aswell, and i KNOW the laws, im17 and i was knocked off my aprilia rs125 last week, my left arm looks like a sausage and i cant walk without stumbling, been riding since i turned 16 and this was the only time iv came off, that isnt gonna stop me riding, nothing will...just got home a few days ago and im already lookin at buying a bigger bike, kronik is right...end of, if i buy a 600 i will have to pass my full bike test and have it restricted to 33bhp for 2 years
because if u new anything about bikes you would know that when your 17 ur allowed nothing faster than 33 bhp which a 600 can b restricted 2 and after your first 2 years of riding after your test u can derestrict it
No you're not, you cant ride anything over a 125 with out 2 years experiance OR you turn 21. If you knew anything about bikes and the licence rules you'd know that.

also you can ride a 125 at 17, but even after youve been riding for 2 years unless you have passed your A2 you cant upgrade. so YOU would know that if you knew anything about bikes and the license rules.
Whats the fucking point in getting a 600 if you're just going to restrict it?! Good luck getting insured at 17 on a 600 you'll end up paying more than the bike is worth.
restriction limits acceleration not top speed, so rather then getting 0-60 in lets say 4seconds, you get 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, thats it.
and my insurance is about 1000 fully comp. but you do make good point, if i wa to get a brand new 600 my insurance would be sky high, just did a quote of the 09 r6, came up as 6.2k HAHA!!
0-60 in 5.5 is still fairly quick if you're a new rider. I just think teenagers, by large, are too irresponsible to handle something like a 600, its just too tempting open the throttle all the way and when you're in that mindset sooner or later its gonna cause an accident, even with a restrictor.
Most people only commute anyway, so unless you live miles and miles away I dont see any reason to go above a 250 or 400, I love my 250R cheep to run and insure and all the power I need... for now ;)

As a 17 year old from the UK with a Yamaha FZ6 S2, i can verify that insurance is not worth more than the bike. Infact it's very reasonable at 800 pounds annually. Also the restrictor restricts the top end speed only, there's not a great deal of change to torque or the mid-ranges.
i did the former explained option. bought a G2 as my first bike after passing, kept restrictors in for a while, got bored, took em out and shit my pants. got about a year left and looking to upgrade to a later kwaka.

but also all cars/bikes in the uk are restricted to 186mph. so if u buy a bugatti veryron lets say, u cnt go above 186mph, without paying stupid money to have the thing removed...but if u own a veryron i dont think u care about the price to get the restrictor taken out :)
Funny you say that because honestly 1 month ago you could not even see the bike with restrictions on, i am in Australia, only ones you could see was Suzuki GSX650F that could not be de restricted reason why they did it that way is due to making more money. But now they are opening more options as they are loosing money due to more people get their license 20 years + and are bigger in body figure & don't fit 125 250 cc you get Kawasaki 650r that is restricted but can be de restricted i hope.
the 250 is good, but i agree that you probably will get tired of it in like 6 months to a year, i ride my dads 06 GSXR 600 and its really fast, im 16, so i think i am going to start with the 09 ZX6R because i am not nuts on them and i will not abuse the power, but its there if i need it!
i love my ninja zx6r 08. this was my first bike . i was going to get the 250 , but averybody told me that i was going to trade it in after 5 to 6 monthss. so i just got the 600.
I started on a 650r and its an easy to ride bike and has enough power so you won't get bored of it.
But the main difference between the zx6r and the 650r for typical use is the seating position. The zx is a leaned forward position and the 650r is an upright seating position.
So for that, actually go in and sit on the two. The performance, for all intents and purposes, is second to that between the two.
im either getting the ninja, Honda CBR, or a GIXXER (all 2009s, all 600s) which one should i get? i have several years of dirt bike experience by the way.
i would suggest looking for a newer bike but not showroom new im a begginner too and im getting an 05 ninja so its quite a bit but not 10000 dollars like the 09...and you have to get frame sliders on your first bike that is a guarenteed must
you dont need frame sliders just take a course learn how to ride on there bikes then hop on yours once u pass, only reason i could ever think if needing sliders if your not a stunter is when u let a buddy sit on your bike and he doesnt realize how heavy it is and falls over :( (that was a trip down memory lane)

This is my first year ever riding a motorcycle and i bought a ninja 500r and i love the way it looks... honestly almost better than any other bike i have looked at... And it has enuf go for me considering im just learning how to ride a bike. So now i am getting excited for next year after im more experienced to get a zx6r... 09 and just trade in my 09 500r... i love my bike tho but im sure i will get hungry for a faster ride!!! haha
i would not say that the 08 looks better. i have the 08 in green and i just love it. i like the 09 but i would not trade my 08. I'm gonna keep it for a couple of years.
Yea the headlights are really the only thing i dont like about the '09, and no under-seat exhaust. but the suspension/brakes/center balance/and lower center of gravity... all pluses
If you ride them both (08 & 09) I can almost guarantee you that you'll like the 09 better.
And you don't want the undertail exhaust, trust me. Then again, it all comes down to rider preference. This bike has been revamped; it truly is a green monster.

it looks a lot like my '08 yamaha R6... i'm a huge fan of kawa, i had a '05 ZX6R and i loved that bike... i'm not really into the new outer design, makes it look like and old cruiser... can't go wrong with tha amazing '05 kawa ZX6R... man i want another one now ^^

I must disagree, in terms of track eficciency the R6 is the most effective bike, but that brings some issues to a real day bike. But since you say its garbage then I guess that it mus be true (not!!!!), like I said it was only my opinion in the first comment and I still need to take the new ninja to the track and then compare them...

Ohh God Yes They Are. I Traded My R6 In For A Zx6r. Its Outstanding Compared To The R6 On The Track. As Far As Streetwise, Id take A Cbr Over The zx6r. I Rode One At A Dealership And The Low End And Mid Range Powerbands Are Much Better Than The R6 And Zx6r. But Thats Just My Opinion.

From CBT you're restricted to 125, but after you do the A2 test, you're restricted to 33bhp for 2 years.

you dont need frame sliders just take a course learn how to ride on there bikes then hop on yours once u pass, only reason i could ever think if needing sliders if your not a stunter is when u let a buddy sit on your bike and he doesnt realize how heavy it is and falls over :( (that was a trip down memory lane)

Depends on the bike. The high is really varied, so unless your extremely tall (7ft), or ridiculously short (4ft), you're good.

Im guessing you have some serious problems with the bike industry.... Put any bike picture next to each other in the 600 category and they will almost look identical... Well it doesnt look gorgeous but hey it give it a little bit of spice and isnt a \boring old round pipe like the yfz6... And then after you start the bike and listen to it you will have a much bigger appreciation... cuz i thought the exact same way you did until i bought the bike and listened to it running.... This is my first year ever riding a motorcycle and i bought a ninja 500r and i love the way it looks... honestly almost better than any other bike i have looked at... And it has enuf go for me considering im just learning how to ride a bike. So now i am getting excited for next year after im more experienced to get a zx6r... 09 and just trade in my 09 500r... i love my bike tho but im sure i will get hungry for a faster ride!!! haha

i would not say that the 08 looks better. i have the 08 in green and i just love it. i like the 09 but i would not trade my 08. I'm gonna keep it for a couple of years.

If you ride them both (08 & 09) I can almost guarantee you that you'll like the 09 better.
And you don't want the undertail exhaust, trust me. Then again, it all comes down to rider preference. This bike has been revamped; it truly is a green monster.

it looks a lot like my '08 yamaha R6... i'm a huge fan of kawa, i had a '05 ZX6R and i loved that bike... i'm not really into the new outer design, makes it look like and old cruiser... can't go wrong with tha amazing '05 kawa ZX6R... man i want another one now ^^

the 07zx6r is happy when its being rided hard high up in the rev range if you ride it like you would a rs250 its happy....

I must disagree, in terms of track eficciency the R6 is the most effective bike, but that brings some issues to a real day bike. But since you say its garbage then I guess that it mus be true (not!!!!), like I said it was only my opinion in the first comment and I still need to take the new ninja to the track and then compare them...

Ohh God Yes They Are. I Traded My R6 In For A Zx6r. Its Outstanding Compared To The R6 On The Track. As Far As Streetwise, Id take A Cbr Over The zx6r. I Rode One At A Dealership And The Low End And Mid Range Powerbands Are Much Better Than The R6 And Zx6r. But Thats Just My Opinion.
