Si eres de Colombia podemos hablar en espanol, no? Yo soy espanol y vivo en Nueva zelanda donde toco con algunos grupos locales pero no hay casi nada de musica latina aqui. Llevo aqui tres anos, y antes vivi en Londres durante 15 anos. Alli es donde toque mas. Hay algunos buenos percusionistas y musicos colombianos alla.

gracias por el cumplido. Vine a Nueva Zelanda hace tres anos por razones de trabajo. Consegui un puesto de profesor en una universidad aqui y me vine con mi pareja e hijo sin saber nada de este sitio, excepto que esta en el quinto cono, claro. Y aqui estoy. Pero antes de todas maneras vivi en Londres quince anos. Naci en Madrid pero me fui de alli a los 14 anos. Tu eres espanol tambien?

That was not me, but I have posted a video response to the solo now with my own solo. What you call mazacote I know as tumbao. Mazacote is a word I have heard in relation to at least two different things, a way of playing which refers to the whole ensemble rather than one particular instrument, and a rhtyhm on the congas, which is not the tumbao. Where have you heard people referring to the tumbao as mazacote? Perhaps it is common in particular countries?
