i gave them names the first one is flipper the second one is ben the third one is tommy fourth one is wes and thats all of them they just swim in circles
WOW!! That had to be a thrill! I would probably crap my swimsuit, though, thinking they were sharks! LOL!! I love dolphins, they are so sweet and smart. Thanks for sharing this!
they are called porpoises, not dolphins. I should know, I lived there for three years and was at the beach almost every day, because my school was on the beach
Lived in Florida al my life..and it is no big deal. In fact it is not all that great having to replace you home after every big storm or dealing with tourists with attitudes year round.. Just thankful that the tourists stick around the trashy beaches and dont normally wonder too far inland.
Maybe to you locals, this is no big deal, but when you're from a landlocked state (I live in Kansas) it's really exciting to see dolphins in the open ocean. I live 700 miles from the nearest place that has dolphins, so not everybody gets to see them on a regular basis.
Wow..another Pensacolabeach screen name! Cool- Are we neighbors?? Are you as excited as I am to see this...It's like when we travel to Georgia and see rednecks everywhere...A common site to see...
Once you get away from the beach you will see rednecks everywhere in and around Pensacola/..Look how close to Alabama you are. They have to go somewhere...
give me a break...know what you're talking about before saying such stuff like that. Rednecks, if you must call them that, arent in pensacola...they are mostly in milton.
at the beach several times a week, walk to fort pickens often, work in pensacola, relatives on 9 mile rd, and Olived rd, and in milton, and pace--off hwy 90, and Berryhill rd. You need to know what you are talking about before trying to state facts that just aren't. settle.
I have lived on Pensacola beach (my back yard IS the beach) for the last 18 years. Lived in Pensacola city limits all my life. And in Pensacola you have surfers, rednecks, tourists..and transplant "wannabes." Excuse me-surf's UP!
you must be one of those so called wannabes that you mentioned. Because everything you just said is such bull. First of all, there is NOTHING about Pensacola or the beach that ANYONE would be flocking to. And for you to try to cause it to appear that way, then you need to get out of your bubble and explore the REAL sites of America thats worth being so "proud" over.
Never said anything about flocking to the beach. I was BORN and Raised in the City of Pensacola. Also served 8 years in the USMC and have explored America and the rest of the world. You dont like Pensacola -do the natives a favor and please leave.
Please excuse my unneighborly behavior (previous comments.) Within the last 24 hours I was hit by yet another drunk driver(2nd DUI tourist which has hit me within past year- her fault and her drunk husband tried to pick a fight before cops arrived! I had witnesses and both were arrested-yea!!) I let my anger over this get the best of me.
I see them all the time and I will never grow tired of seeing them. Thank you for the vid!!

i live in P'cola, and those aren't dolphins. they r porpoises i think. saw them catching fish real close to shore one time.
SithMage 3 years ago
Dolphins have beaks, just like these guys. Porpoises do not have beaks. Look more closely next time you see some.
kbarehand 3 years ago
well, better notify the local news channels then ...
i dont think dolphins get that close in p'cola beach anyway.

They are dolphins not porpoises. Porpoises have no beak and I have still shots of these guys and they clearly have beaks.
