  • I love the Su-27. But why are Russians so god damn cocky about everything!?

  • all the flankers are good...even the mighty F-16 been shot down a simple SA-6...haha

  • These are gorgeous jets. <3

  • What is this maneuver good for???

  • It is obvious that the US army likes to invade.... why would you make a STEALTH plane for??? to attack!!! so that the radars won't see you... Thats the reason why the Soviets and the Russians don't make stealth planes and are always making SAMs to defend themselves. IT IS OBVIOUS!

  • I've read once: The Su27 is like a swan. And it is! Look that beautiful machine: This neck, the wing and the tail. But also a swan who bites.

And: I like this machines not because they are war-machines.

  • su-27's gonna pwn f22 if they met on the battlefield

  • I'm not Russian, but I love this plane and I think it's beautiful. I agree, it should never fight in a war. But it's definitely not THE BEST aircraft in the world.

  • It cannot carry twice the amount of MISSILES than the f22. The S version has a kapacity of ten missiles. 6 medium range and 4 short range. The f22 can carry six medium to long range in its belly and two short range. Pylons can be added to the wings for a total of 8 more long range missiles.

  • Negative evaluation - the envy of Americans.

  • How many g's is excerted on the airframe and the pilot during that manoever?

  • The F-22 and -35 can do that too, but it would take them longer than the time facing backwards to open the missile bay doors and fire

  • No fly by wire needed and no thrust vectors needed....

  • With Christ anything is possible.Even peace.Let's give it a try.

  • at the end of the day the pilot of one plane said to the other "let's do that again tomorrow"

  • Ohh god i love russian planes.....

  • Just think:

It does a pugachev cobra, then a deliberate stall so the nose points down. Full throttle and afterburner, and dive. You'd be at 50ft pointing in the opposite direction before the person chasing you from behind knew where you were :D

Think of the possibilities you create when you bend the laws of flight to suit you!

  • i'm fucking tired of europeans making fun of americans. if it weren't for us, you'd all be typing in german... shit i don't even think hitler's son would grant you internet access

  • Is it weird that I want to make love to this aircraft?

  • @TamoNekiDrMr we all do bud!!!

  • The fact is that this is a very useful maneuver because it allows the pilot to engage targets behind him. Awesome.

  • @vengefulnoob yeah and that time he use to rotate machine gun rounds or missiles are already tailing him and you lose too much speed making you more vulnerable, only usefull thing for cobra is to slow down speed fast and make your pursuer overshoot or lose radar signal so missile will stop tracking you although it won't work on our latest aesa radars and dogfights are things of the past so cobra is only now on airshows, not on combat.

  • @vengefulnoob Ahh, F-35 doesnt need to turn, it can lock on to anything in a 360 degree circle around it.. But this is one beautiful bird...

  • Какая красота!!! Высший пилотаж!!! Очень понравилось!!!БРАВО!!!

  • why did russia sell chinese su-27? I thought they were unfriendly

  • su-27 is super with highly trained russian polit

  • Great video! Beautiful aircraft and maneuver.

  • Great plane tons of respect for it, and the designer may he rest in piece, but the F-22 will shoot any SU-27 out of the sky.

  • @flykatcher

These planes are made for the war.

But I hope that they will be NEVER used for air fights. Let they peacefully fly similarly to birds.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

I put it as an artistic video. And the battles and wars throughout the world is your favorite pastime. Especially you like to win the weak: Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya..

But Cuba 70km near Florida were afraid to touch. Probably because of Russian missiles.

    Regards

  • @pavelpopov Why compare its payload to the F-22 then? But I agree that these jets are beautiful. Too bad they're all conceived for murder.

  • @pavelpopov Probably because that would have started World War 3, moron.

Russians play tough on the internet, what a facade.

  • @pavelpopov wow the hell u owned him!!, yes peace with all this beautiful planes and let make it look like art.

  • @pavelpopov

He was just commenting on your "twice as many missiles as the F-22" statement. While this is true, the F-22 certainly doesn't need those missiles. It was designed to gain air superiority BvR and remaining undetected, whilst the Su-27 and it's family is designed for direct conflict and dogfighting, as is the F-15. Comparing apples and oranges, really. PAK-FA against F-22 would be fair.

The Flanker family is an amazing aircraft though. Certainly better than it's american counterparts

  • @pavelpopov stop critizing americans O.o

  • @flykatcher one on one yeah the f 22 would no doubts win... hows abouts three flankers on one raptor though? these russian jets are so much cheaper than the american jets

  • @flykatcher yes. and Su-27 will shoot any F-86. What's the point?

  • @flykatcher Well of course, the Raptor is a very new plane, introduced after the year 2000... Whereas the SU-27 was made by the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Lotsa years of technological and aeronautical advancements separate them.

  • @flykatcher I wonder wherever I go to watch videos of soviet / russian aircraft ,I always see people constantly bragging about F22 . Even if it's an airshow or just a simple takeoff . Just like now . I type pugachev's cobra to the seach and the first comment has F22 in it .THAT THING HAS FLAWS . Waaay more flaws than the Su s and Mig s . It has horrible maintnance problems and it already was taken out of production. Just shut up and enjoy the video , or go back to watching F22 videos .....

  • @flykatcher

yup, you must be from usa, right?

    keep dreaming boy!

the russian aircraft are the king of the sky's!

they always were and always will be

    cheers

  • @flykatcher yeah, right... if your F-22 doesn't fall apart on its way to rendezvous :-D

  • @flykatcher And the S-400 would blow apart every f 22 off the sky ; )

  • @flykatcher I hate how every dumb American comes here and tries to prove his countrys might by saying dumb shit.

It all depends on the situation and pilots who gets shot down and who not.

  • @flykatcher love the raptor but it sucks how it might get replaced by the f-35 cos of money

  • piece of crap, I bet a helicopter could beat it in a dogfight

  • perfect!

  • A phenomenon was observed. When doing the pugachev's cobra, the airplane disappears from radar for 2 seconds. Perfect radar-guided missile evasion maneuver.

  • Beautiful video, beautiful aircraft, beautiful manoeuvre.

  • 39 people are Americans

  • @SlovenianJunkie

and what of it? That youtube is a bunch of North American idiots?

  • @pavelpopov No I don't think the the commenter meant that at all......North America includes Canada....Canadians aren't idiots!

  • @pavelpopov YouTube won't post my response to this site. Man! This is one sided bullshit.

  • @SlovenianJunkie and 1 is a chechen.

  • @SlovenianJunkie That has to be the most retarded comment anyone on youtube can possibly make, and youtube is the king of retarded comments.

  • @SlovenianJunkie stop being racist lowlife O.o

  • @SlovenianJunkie i liked and are from the good ole USA. Does that redeem me?

  • I'm not the largest fan of Russia but this airplane is one of the most beautiful creations of mankind. It's so pure. I would much rather fly this than something like a U2, SR-71, B2 or a F22.

  • @PullaPatonki

Do you think that you are the center of the universe and we are interested in your preferences?

  • @PullaPatonki Not me because they are cheaply built and WILL come apart when needed in combat.

  • What a magnificent aircraft! Wow. I wonder what the Wright brothers would say.

  • @jack887

They might say that technological progress continues.

I put it as an artistic video. This series is a good aircrafts. But life goes on!

  • @pavelpopov fantastic vid. I was looking for a good compilation of cobras. do you know they manually suspend the FCS restrictions during this maneuver ?!

  • @jack887 They'd say I want one.

  • great plane

  • Introduced by us.. The swedes... J35 Draken can do it also.

  • @Skyisnotalimit

yes, J35 Draken can. But the SU-27 did it first.

    See in Wikipedia: "Pugachev's Cobra"

  • @pavelpopov No, the J-35 has been doing cobras since the 60s. Keep in mind that any idiot can go on wikipedia and post whatever they want until enough people dispute it. In fact, if you use wikipedia as a reference on a college assignment you are likely to lose points. My history professor said he would fail anyone who did.

  • @Maraudershark1

Your history professor and you are certainly more authority in aviation.

Please refer to the international aviation is to rename it to "Swedish cobra" and J-35 to the "best jet of all times".

I think that when have a rocket launch from Kiruna - some Swedes with mental complexes will argue that you flew to Space before the Russian and Americans. Great Sweden is Super-country?

  • @Skyisnotalimit

    Dear Swedes.

I do not argue that Sverige are a Great aircraft and Space nation!!!

    Are you satisfied?

  • @pavelpopov Well the best part about russia /sweden is, in 1981 when you screwed up your spy raid to sweden, and got one of your subs with Nuclear weapons stuck right in the waters outside of Karlskrona!

Just to show who got the power, one JA37 viggen fighter flew about 25 meters

over the crews head with full throttle.

I would have given anything to see just that move...

    Would you?

  • @Skyisnotalimit

I think the best part about Russia / Sweden was at 1809 when the Swedes have a aggressive king. In response to our Russian army reached Westerbotten and could take Stockholm. But the Swedish officers overthrew this king, and had with Russian army. Fortunately agressive and stupid idiots like you are scarce in your beautiful country and Sweden 200-years live peacefully.

  • @pavelpopov In what purpose do you end up with stuck shitty diesel sub in our waters?

You must be so proud, i mean, that you allways for all times will be

    linked together with Stalin?

I feel so sorry for those poor sailors and their families of the Kursk submarine.

If you could build subs that don´t blow up them selves, and get stuck

in other countries waters loaded with nukes during spy operations?

You russian seem to allways wanted to spy on us,

    are you jealous?

  • @Skyisnotalimit

Yes jealous to a therapist who may have an interesting patient as you.

Here I was block you. Try to talk with Stalin.

  • @pavelpopov

a month or 2 ago there was a tu95 entering the dutch airspace and we intercepted it because we could already hear it when it was flying in the east of poland

  • @Skyisnotalimit don't be blind, spying went both ways, in fact US took it one step further when it came to spying on soviet military and technology. Not that there is something wrong with that.

  • Victor Pugachev didn't invent this, Tom Cruise did in Top gun. Come on, don't try to fool me, i'm a a Harvurd grad-u-ate. LOL

Awsome maneuver in that jet for real

  • How much "g" does it effects?

  • Umm... source for the song?

Anyways, that's some great piloting, russian pilots are pretty great!

  • what is the source of the sound track? its very relaxing and nerving at the same time

  • My favourite plane because of this move ! (and the look :)

  • WOW those colors are ugly the blue camo is the best for that sexy plane

  • a lot of pilots assume theyll kill flankers well before they get close..fair enough, but in a real war there'd be ...way too many planes to kill using BVR missiles, amraams, and whatever russian equivelants there are ...

in a WVR fight- a one circle fight- a Flanker hitting the A limiter and doing this would be HARD to beat- he can point his nose anywhere , and even with a loss of speed, he still can walk his tracrers at ANY angle-wonder how the F22 does it- dont know if thye have a A limiter

  • According to my sources within the USAF, the SU-27 can indeed perform this maneuver. Don't buy into the hype that vectored thrust is the only way to go. You also need a skilled pilot.

  • russia makes awesome looking planes

  • Su-27 can do it? I think only the plane with thrust vectoring nozzles can do it, and last time i checked, Su-27 doesn't have it

  • to 14mobius:

    See in Wikipedia: Pugachev's Cobra

  • @pavelpopov

yea, and if it wolud do, it would damage wings

  • @14mobius wrong,an f-14,which doesnt have thrust vectoring can do the cobra manuver, look at this video: youtube.com/watch?v=1lVvfSQGqoc

  • to @subzyro5 :

See in Wikipedia: " Pugachev's Cobra"

  • @14mobius are you "such a dumb" ? Su-27 and all of it's variants have a 3D vectoring nozzles.. just check on Wikipedia dude!

  • @14mobius Su-27 was the first plane who did it.

  • @14mobius

Pugachev's kobra was invented on MiG-29 and Su-27:-) Back in the day they had already started experimenting with trust vectoring but Pugachev's kobra can be performed with MiG-29 and Su-27 because due to their superb aerodynamic performance they can retain control on very high angle of attack. I don't know if you are aware of that but purely from aerodynamic point of view the MiG-29 airframe is perhaps the best that can be achieved.

  • @14mobius su 27 jets were the first to pull cobra

  • The aerial equivalent of drifting

  • I <333 the 27

  • excellent vid my friend, i have heard about the cobra manuever, but up till now have not seen it performed.....su 27 flanker is one of my favorite migs.....nice work

  • Su27 Flanker - incredible looking fighter. Cool video.

  • nice music to the vid , suits the theme , good guitar licks

  • I love Fighterplanes from Russia...but folks ..common... its nice to see such an maneuver but they gotta be in a realy bad position that they have to do it in a combat situation. ;)

  • @Sturmfalke010475

Yea, exactly. It's not a combat manoever. It's demonstration of capability of controlable transition to an extreme angles of attack.

  • First flight PAK-FA aka Sukhoi T-50:

    /watch?v=mp0yd6no7B4

  • the perfect fighter!

  • This is a Fly :))

  • great... if only russian avionic combine with us they will produce extreme multi role fighter jets..

  • Obviously it is a true that american sky fighters can also do such tricks but only once...

    lol

  • yes, it can do that, but it wasnt the first!

  • Youre almost totaly wright... About swedish plane, it's about J-35 Draken, a little weird fighter but still maneuvrable enough to do it!

  • 0:44 wow , stunning power and performance

  • the General Dynamics NF-16 VISTA can do the cobra too. :)

  • At least this will shut the Americans up about their precious F-22! This, the Eurofighter and the JAS 39 Are 3 planes that could easily out perform that heap of wires and metal!

  • You are an American i suppose, just ask what happened to the F15's that tried to do this stunt. And then reconsider what you say.

  • so what? Raptor crashed, B-2 crashed, B-1 crashed, are they bad aircraft?

  • Beatiful video. Thank's for uploading.

  • i want to see a f22 doing this

    lol

    they are not stealth anymore!

    lmfao

  • So they'd only have to do this in the first place if its already been spotted/chased so breaking its stealth is invalid in that equation.

  • Do a search on youtube, you can see film of the Saab planes doing Cobras.

  • :D zajebiste. robie takie coś w BF2 :D

  • Zajebiste

  • Nice

  • Love that move, many american planes would just break apart doing that.

  • The maneuver consists of the pilot disengaging the alpha limiter and pulling the aircraft to a 90°--120° angle of attack, then back down to zero. In a properly performed Pugachev's Cobra, the plane maintains a straight and level flight throughout the maneuver.

  • Thrust vectoring aircraft (such as the Su-30 'Flanker', Su-37 'Flanker-F', Su-47 'Berkut', MiG 1.42, F-15 ACTIVE, F-16 MATV/VISTA, and NASA's X-31) should be able to perform this maneuver more easily, though note that the air intake still needs to be able to handle the air inflow. Russian fighters, designed for high maneuverability, are known for performing this maneuver at air shows for dramatic effect.

  • Vehicles known to be able to make the cobra maneuver are the Su-27 'Flanker' family (from horizontal flight), MiG-29 'Fulcrum' (from a 30 degree up angle), the F-22 (from horizontal flight) and the F/A-18E/F (from horizontal flight).

  • The "Pugachev Cobra" is a fighter aircraft maneuver. The maneuver is so named after the Sukhoi OKB (design bureau) test pilot Viktor Pugachev, who first performed the maneuver at 1989 on SU-27.Maneuvers that are related to it include the Cobra Turn, and the Frolov Chakra.

  • DO remember that the cobra can be performed by Su-27 that doesn't have thrust vectoring.

  • Yes, now the some planes can do. The thrust-vectoring nozzles equipped and very strong body is necessary. But SU-27 Family is the best! The titan and the perfect construction.

  • it is thought that EU and US planes can now do the Cobra, as long as there are thrust-vectoring nozzles equipped.

  • Thrust-vectoring makes it easier to carry out. However it's more important to have engines designed to work at near stall speeds, i.e. have specifically designed active intakes and electronically controlled burner. F-18 equiped with F404 engines is able to perform Cobra even without vector-thrust, but not able to stall in the air completely as Su-27 does. F-18 still requires some horizontal speed to recover from the Cobra without loss of altitude.

  • @Ausworthar an f22 cant do a perfect cobra.. and its the only one with trust vectoring...

  • @Ausworthar the f/a-18 will perform the cobra

  • @Ausworthar The F/A-18 will perform the cobra easily, as will the Saab 35. Regardless, this maneuver is practically useless in combat; you have to slow down significantly to pull it, and once you do you're just a big, slow target. Easy picking for an AMRAAM.

  • @Ausworthar not really,f-14 can do it,f-18 can do it,almost any jet fighter can do it,unless if it has higher thrust to weightratio i think.
