And you too can own this beautiful money sucking pig of a boat,Set sail bosun,And break out the cash-if you have unlinited funds these cars would go straight through a brick wall if you wanted them to!
I used to have one, and I think about it all the time. It was truly the best car I ever owned. Mileage sucked but it rode like your were on a cloud, the leather seats were better than most sofas, and the 460 had a ton of power. I'd give my left testicle to have it back.
@sideburns2009 ive had many of them a 76 lincoln, a 77. a 79, a 77 marquis most all of these cars i had, had hte 460 in it. and could steer it with a fingertip. granted city driving stop and go sucked gas. btu highway rides were pretty good
That was a sarcastic remark on the hugeness of that thing. It is monstrous, dinosauric, mastodonic. The people who created it and the huge amount of similar "cars" must be shot(hopefully, most of them are already dead). There is nothing even remotely close to automotive excellence about that lame excuse for a car.
I hope that all the remaining "cars" of this nature suddenly burst into flames with no one inside and no one near by to extinguish the fire or call the fire brigade.
Ford Aspire= no fun car that is only good to take you from point A to point B. It's a great car for urban traffic, but it has the personality of a brick.
The problem is that people in America still use that kind of shitty, inefficient cars and most likely will always do. Because they just don't care.
I.R. has 2 cars. One for sporty sportiness(2.3 liter turbo, soon to be 2.0 N/A) and one for urban use(1.2 liter N/A). They are both AWESOME.
They may be way better built compared to the cars these days, I agree, cars in Europe were better built in the past as well, but that doesn't mean they have to be 3 times the size a car should ever have. It's supposed to be a car, not a freight barge.
Maybe today's American cars are ugly. I like the look of some of the US cars from the '50s, and some of the muscle cars from the '60s. The LOOK. I don't like the fact that they are huge and have crappy performance.
About the Continental now. I despise it so much. The thing is humongous and ugly like hell. There is nothing remotely close to automotive excellence there.
Also, a car's normal size is dictated by common sense, even if it's a luxury car. That shit is wrong.
Muscle cars aren't huge and they don't have crappy performance. Crappy performance is when you hit a bump and are sent flying. When your car is so small it squeezes you in so every jarring bump hurts. This continental floats over every bump and then you hit the accelerator and it goes. If you mean that stuff they call handling where it goes through cones without knocking them over at 100 mph look elswhere. Thats never needed in real life
It is clear to me that Europe and America have different views on sizing in general. It shows when it comes to cars. You guys somehow feel the need to drive around in tanks.
We also have some big luxury models, but they are not as big as the American ones.
And the reasonable weight for a car here(dictated by common sense) is 1.2-1.4 tons, even less. My 7 seat micro-van weighs 935 kg(not even 1 full ton). How much does that Lincoln weigh? And what can you actually do with it?
@GM572 Well actually I drive a midsize car a 1978 Thunderbird. So It's a bit smaller than this lincoln but I think the idea behind the car is you drive It I could be wrong though. If I wanted a truck I would drive an F 150.
Yes, they are really powerful, but they need most of that power to haul their own asses.
Cars(especially sports cars) should be as lightweight as possible so they would not require a big fat gas gozzling V8 engine to pick them off the ground. Weight fucks up handling.
In Europe, cars are smaller and built without ladder frames. (Semi)Monocoque design shaves weight and allows for incredibly better handling around corners.
@GM572 Ironic statements for a guy with the username "GM 572".
And the last ladder frame car made in America was the Ford Crown Victoria. It was discontinued last year so now, unfortunately, the only ladder frame vehicles are trucks.
But it doesn't matter. This here is a man's car. A real man doesn't care about trivial matters such as "handling" and "fuel efficiency". A real man drives a Lincoln.
It clearly states in my profile description that GM572 is a mistake. That is the only thing that I regret on YT.
I'm a Ford guy, I fuckin' hate GM and I sure as shit hate big chunky gas gozzling cars.
I used to be impressed by the sheer power of those things when I was like 14-15. It took me some time realize how fucked up America's "I don't care" policy is and how much harm it does to the world.
Also, a real man who really wants to look and feel good in a car drives a BMW.
@GM572 What exactly does it do to the world are you a greenie or something? I dont fall for that Glowball warming bullshit. I would look so totally good and feel totally good in a lincoln.
anyone that says whoever drives one of these has a small penis are the ones that have the small penis and are coving up for the fact that they have one, so it makes them feel better by mocking other in which they wish to have, like that waterforjim douchebag.
This was an incredible car in its time and are collectible cars today. When I was in high schoold during the late 1970's I fondly remember going to the local Lincoln Mercury dealer and seeing their inventory of the newly arrived Mark V. I remember seeing the Bill Blass, my dad test drive a charcoal black Mark, I remember the ride was the smoothest I ever felt and that incredible long Lincoln hood. Definetely the end of an era before cars were downsized due to rising gas prices.
@buffedbob We seem to be about the same age...and yeah...The Blass is the best of the bunch. I sat in one at a car show a few years back and was amazed how darn long the hood was in these cars. coming out of a FWD SUV with no hood to speak of...these things looked like landing on an aircraft carrier!
@waterfordjim Hey asshole, (you say anyone driving one of these has a small penis), I got a big 74 Mark IV the same size as one of these, and I got a big 9 inch dick!!!!! Maybe you got a small, shaved, vagina like a little girl, you dildo!!!
@smithraymond09029 No, they were completely different cars, the Mark V was considerably larger and was based off of the platform of the previous generation T-Bird as opposed to the smaller one that had just come out that year and was shared with the Cougar
Hands down, the most beautiful car ever built
