Snakebitte, the problem might be this, Cinematic mod is MOD as u can see, it doesnt replace anything in the original game, its totally independent mod that u can choose from steam gamelist or in the latest ones u have to choose it from pressing START then All programs or something. Atleast in my computer i had to open cinematic mod v9.5 from start and all programms and there wasthis FAKEFACTORY file. I hope this helps.

Search for the Cinematic Mod 9. It has much better character models and it's divided into 2 parts. One basic part which has new music and graphics and one addon part with the new models. The basic part is independent and if you want to run the addon part you need the basic part installed.

I think your PC can handle it. I have a 32 Bit OS, too and it works. But some maps could crash during loading. So you should turn down the graphics before loading a new map. I read that CM 9 will be optimized for 32 Bit systems but I don`t know the release of this version yet.

yeah worked better than expected with a few crashes at loading. still installed 64bit windows to get the full experience tho :P dual booted tho, should be fun comparing the upcoming 32bit to the 64bit version :D

High Resolution Textures, New Models.... HDR is included in the Episodes only. Original HL2 hasn`t got HDR. However this is only a "Fake" HDR", but it looks quite good ;)It is even better in CM 8.

Yes it does. On my 256MB 8600GT, I never fall below 40FPS on maxed settings at 1440x900. So on a GT, I suspect you would still have a playable framerate. Sounds to me like you need to do the 32-bit hack, or just get a 64 bit OS.

The Gman looks good, but the new model for Alyx was completely unnecessary. The oversexualization really detracts from her character.

Infact, a lot of the original characters los their charm with this mod. If anything the only thing HL2 needs is higher res textures. Everything else is just fine as is.
