  • Quality tune. KTF

  • this is one of the best northern vids i have seen on youtube, the lead singer looks a real cool dude!

  • Thumbs up from me! LOVED dancing and singing along to this, thank goodness for Ian Levine, always appreciated his postings onto YTube

  • I always thought this group were Italian Americans.

  • Gosh.I've had this record on MGM for over 20 years. In a funny kind of way, I always thought the Velours were a New York, blue eyed soul outfit...only because they sounded similar to the Four Seasons. Was anyone else shocked by this fantastic revelation or should I grab my coat now?

  • I wasn't shocked at all because I have tons of Velours music. You should check out some of their 50's recordings.. They were a heavy R&B outfit. The reason why this one song had a Four Seasons sound is that I'm Gonna Change originally was done by The Four Seasons as an LP track

  • oh yes i remember it well!!! sigh!!! those were the good old days xxx

  • love the vid too and the track is one of Wigans huge classics love it like the hundreds ive listened to upto now, im in my eliment!!

  • superb, always wanted this as a teenager, but could never afford it, well done Ian you have made a 47 year old very happy, ahhrr those were the days.

  • I saw the Velours recently on PBS, Couldn't believe they were still around.

My mom had a 78 record, Back then, "Can I Come Over Tonight" Great song by them.

Velours, I salute you,' Great Group

  • Has anybody els who loves northern soul noticed that you think you have found your favourite track, only to find a song like this appears from nowhere. I have a list of favourits a mile long now,and it will keep getting bigger and bigger, untill there are no more releases (ASIF).KEEP THE FAITH SOUL BROTHERS AND SOUL SISTERS.

  • HUGE tune for Pep at the Catacombs back in '73! - just thought I'd mention it! ;-)

  • Is my mind playing tricks on me, or did this video not make it to the Stange World set in the end? Haven't seen it for ages to be honest :-/

  • Yes it was on there, but every video I have posted here on YouTube has been re-edited and they are now drastically different to the versions we put on The Strange World set.

  • Hi, I'm Søren from Denmark. I hope that people who like this music will join up to receive "Reaching For The Best - The IAN LEVINE Newsletter". I'm doing a regular e-mail newsletter for people who are fans of Ian Levine's music, just like myself. • I think their best releases were actually from their doo-wop days:

"Can I Come Over Tonight" and "This Could be the Night"

  • Great track.
