No, you should update your R4iTT firstly or you can update your R4iTT on another console.

Currently all R4iTT have been updated for DSi 1.43 before shipping out

You check the official theme at directory SYSTEM\ui, compare the differences between those black, blue, cherry and green folders, then you will get to know how to make the theme. And sorry for it is not convenient to make such a video

data should be saved into your memory card while doing firmware update, some data are written into r4itt chips. That is why it may damage R4iTT card when doing firmware update.

dude, i've got a question, well i have an r4itt card and idk what happened and then my dsi wasn't able to reat it, =S i couldn't use it for months, if i update my r4itt card, will that problem disappear? and also, right now, my dsi has the 4.1.1 v, if i update it to the recent one (i think it's 4.3 or sort), will that affect the card? I'm sorry to bother u but srsly i want to play my old games again, answer me as soon as u can please

You can have your r4itt purple updated into latest v1.4.3, it is fine. No problem with your dsi console
