That was a unnecessarily long and self-indulgent way to simply say 'stop goofing off if you want to be the best you can be'
Nothing more than pseudo intellectual mastrabation.
What's depressing is the comment where he has literally achieved every one of his academic goals suggesting hit got to a point and instead of further educating himself he decided to post this budget dr phil nonsense on youtube with the belief getting straight a's in school is a major achievement
haha, we were so much a like when we were younger...now it's kind of the other way around. When I was younger, I made As As As and now that I'm a junior in college I'm just like blah. I'm a psych major too! I adore you! I'm glad I found your channel, you're like, the boy version of me! Except better! lol
You are a true inspiration. I'm approaching the the end of the semester in school with two exams left to go. For some reason I've been feeling so overwhelmed. Your videos help me realize that something just aren't as hard as they seem.
One of my last econ exams for my degree I was studying like crazy for months in advance. The lecturer tells us only to focus on 2 specific topics out of 10 a couple of weeks before the exam. I think I was only 1 of 4 people who got firsts in that. Never. Trust. Anyone!
@Kubakpsv Well, I mean, there is also A, B, C, D, and F which can say a great deal about that person. I understand that many people just want to get somewhere the most efficient way possible "C's get degrees" - but I can tell you this.."nerd now, boss later" and when me and all my friends are running stuff, we'll be looking out for people who got A's (Of course, grades are not always relevant, but the mindset that leads people to get certain grades undoubtedly transfers to other areas of life)
@AmanJohnK But mindset that leads people to get certain grades is not always connected with ability to use their knowledge, we all know how tests compare to reality right? Truth is that "nerd now, homeless later" and "C grader now, boss later" can occur too. Grades are only grades. The only advantage of them - one more thing to make queue for work a bit shorter. Same with driver licence, gender, age, skin colour and all that jazz. But it's only for people not too ambitious to start own stuff.
@Kubakpsv Trust me, I understand, I had actually just written a status earlier today saying that over half the people in college are just wasting their time, and that it'snot for everyone...I admire those who don't need college...in my family, I have people with Ph.D's but the richest person (by far) dropped out of middle school! Still though, I'm not saying good grades are a means to success, it's the character and mindset behind those good grades (though sometimes faked) that matters!
@SmithValentino Yes =) This is why I'm making a website, actually. I find it hard to be directive in my videos....On youtube, especially on this channel, I like it much better that I sort of inspire people into action...get them thinking, or make them see something in a new light. I like this much better than me making videos like "How to Study" "How to build a workout program" and "How to manage your time" BUT...these are all topics I'm working on for my website! I'm so excited! =)
@ktodarling ....did I make a video about life and claim to have that all figured out? No, I made a video detailing that I used to be nothing academically, but then went on to reach literally every single one of my academic goals....clearly...I "have it all figured out" in this area, and I'm excited to share with people what that is, hence why I made a youtube video!.... LOL the lack of logic in some comments is truly a treat =)
@AmanJohnK but see, you just did it again. you're extremely condescending. sorry you don't see it. but maybe that's part of why some people have a problem with you.
I was the same way in high school. I had all this potential and gift of expression, but I never got A's because the academic "status-quo" gave me no satisfaction. I unfortunately had the same problem in Collage and University, that and coupled with not being able to balance social life with studies properly discouraged me further. I HATE having to be "graded" on studies.
@askayscha I'm building a website that will be geared toward more tangible applications...which your suggestion is a great one....I'm writing something on time management tonight, but I'll add "how to study" on the list of topics =) I'll start promoting the website here in a few months.
Took a while to get to the point - but in the end I end up agreeing. Sadly enough I'm still stuck in the "knowing I can but won't" phase of resource management. In due time.. in Due time..!
Why is it that whenever I think of writing a comment (when I don't post it) where I add something about myself (in the comment), that you say the exact same thing about yourself, without knowing that I was thinking of telling you that about me!?
Sorry, I am just a little too tired NOT become frustrated right now.. LOVED the video thought! ;D
@JIYkp Thanks =) Yea, I've read majority of the Tipping point...idk why I stopped! I should just pick up that book and finish it....I also have another one of his books - what's weird is sometimes I don't read people who I might be inspired too much to copy =P
My son loves dinosaurs. Amazing that he can learn and pronounce names, some of which I can barely pronounce but at five he has memorized dozens. This had made teaching him to read, write, color, count far easier for me and enjoyable/interesting for him. I to take his interests into account in lessons.
When I was a kid I liked mechanics and electronics. I used to get in trouble for taking stuff apart to see how it worked
We all have different talents and are intelligent in different ways
That is what I hated about school. They made us focus on all this crap that didn't really peak our interest. Skills/lessons that we would not use in the job world, The few classes that we did excel in and enjoy were marginalized because of the 40 minute a day or less time restriction. If we were lucky we were able to continue exploring interests and classes after school or at home.
Talent/curiosity/interests should be nurtured during our school years so children enjoy learning.
@AmanJohnK Lol, being compared to you is a complement :) so thank you good sir *tips hat* btw i do After effects intros if you ever need one id be happy to help out my therapist lol

At 1:10 in the video you use the term "ridiculously" - an adverb. Try to stay away from using adverbs in your speech. It goes along the "less is more" principal.
@kroovyandcal public speaking is an art - when I took my first speech writing class, I learned that many times you must break the rules for things to sound smooth...especially in a medium like Youtube where it's less formal and the last thing you want is to sound formal! XD

@kazooga1234 Use some grammar, I can barely understand what the hell you are trying to say.
What's wrong with coming to a test late when you know you don't need the full allotted time to finish?
rspkk0 4 months ago
@rspkk0 being late for a test in some colleges is they wont let you into class
sometimes they will deduct points from your grade if they let you in at all
you go on time for the test and then leave early is how it works unless they are timed
if they are timed then that means you will be learning other things in the class as well so you will then be behind in the class
being late for class if works see that you have been late they put that into concideration of not hiring you
