Matt Lauer - What a sleazy scumbag - He's a joke. Look at any of the interviews with any Republicans on Youtube, then look at his interviews with Obama or any other Democrat. The Democratic National Committee has him on their payroll. He hammers Palin after his perverted man Letterman talks about her 14 y/o daughter being molested at a Yankees game, and worships the feet Polisi walks on. This clown would be a perfect propaganda pitch man for the Soviets or Iran.
Are kidding? Obama is the most unqualified presidents ever elected, even worse than Jimmy Carter. Obama is definitely WAY OVER HIS IGNORANT MARXIST HEAD!!!!

Obama is already the worst ever. He hasn't a clue on how to govern. Time for impeachment before he does anymore damage! The American people fell for a big mouth just like they did with Clintoon, who was terrible.
Clinton caused the nation's biggest economic wealth in 35 years, brought together palestines and isrealites and handled fundamentalism in a great way. I hope for your sake, that the days that the moneygrabbing, hypocrite, war-loving republican idiots will stay out of power for a long time. They ruined your country, damaged the face of the whole western so-called free world, and the only ones who profited from it, where themselfes
Clintons success was mainly because the Republican congress ("Contract with America") and the economic boom started by Reagan. Clinton raised taxes which caused a recession whe Bush took office.
@tdsthird Not only are you ignorant but you want to reamain so. Carter left office with high unemployement high inflation high mortgage loans, Reagan cut the taxes and regulations
two years later the economy boomed for many years. Clinton success was mainly due to tax cuts and welfare reform "forced" by a Republican majority in the House. Read history before you reply again, or I will have to charge you for this education.
Indiscriminate tax cuts and lack of regulation are the main reasons why we find ourselves in the dire economic situation we face today, bud. "Reaganomics" did nothing but slowly and surely destroy our financial foundations, by dismantling the government and its ability to do its job of regulating and monitoring. Clinton's success came in spite of the useless, obstructionist Republican majority he dealt with. I'm afraid your version of history is twisted and biased. I lived through it, so I know.
@army vet. "indiscriminate tax cuts"? I'll make easy for you. Tax cuts helps companies grow and then companies hire people, people buy things and the economy grows. (Simple isn't it? Even you should understand) Next time wear a helmet.
Do you know what the word "indiscriminate" means, kid? I doubt it, seeing as to how you can't even utilize the proper grammar to write your crap. Look it up. You might learn something. Tax cuts work as you describe in theory, and under the right conditions when used wisely. Bush did not use tax cuts wisely, or under the right conditions. He employed them "indiscriminately", with the consequences we face today. Go get educated before trying to correct your elders, jackass...
Uh, I think even non-business owners have the freedom of speech. And not all business owners are fucking salt-of-the-earth know-it-alls like yourself. G W was a business owner - A lot of good that guy did us.
I'm sick and tired of people telling me to shut up because I don't agree with them. 1st Amendment, assholes!
@jjfyke... You can say all you want, but unless you have ran or owned a bussines, you do not know REAL economics. Only a moron parasite would say that high taxes and socialism are "good" for bussines.
Get the fuck out of here with that anti-American bullshit, you brain-dead little schmuck! WTF can you really know about anything at your age? Go take some lessons in Civics and then come back, ok?
George W ran a business and he didn't know what the fuck was going on. There are guys on Wall Street who have lost $200 billion in a year handing out bonuses.
How did you get your own "bussines" when you can't even spell business, you fucking moron? You're the parasite, sucking off people who are stupid enough to buy what your ignorant ass is selling.
WTF does that have to do with anything? We're talking Macro-Economics here, dumbo. Do you think running a business makes you an unimpeachable authority on Economics? It is corrupt business people who have led us to this sad state of affairs in large measure. Most business people I have ever known belong in this category, more concerned about dollars and cents than about the well-being of our country and their fellow citizens. I wouldn't be bragging about being one of those if I were you...
Clinton's success took place in spite of the useless, obstructionist Gingrich crowd, because he was right, and they were dead wrong. Reagan took advantage of measures implemented late in President Carter's term, and took credit for them. He was a fantastic foreign policy guy, but a nefarious domestic policy catastrophe. Clinton handed Bush a booming economy, a world at peace, and a very high level of prosperity, and Bush did his best to fuck all that up, with great results. Get real!!
Clintoon?? Bush is the one who fucked up our country both of them senior and his dumb ass son who started a war. So THE BUSHES are the WORST father and son and they FUCKED UP this country.
Bush 41 was spectacularly better than Bush 43, though. Bush 41 handled foreign policy with brilliant skill, but he did fuck up the economy, and that's why President Clinton won in 1992. Please don't compare 41 to 43! That's very unfair and demeaning to the 41st President! };-)
You need to get over your "Blame a Bush" condition. This is now an Obama problem. You can continue to point fingers, but remember Obama as president is now in charge and will be blamed or congratulated based on how he does.
The Economy has fallen lower since he has been in office, and since the dems have been in charge. It is a liberal democrats problem now, and that makes me smile.
Don't be an idiot. The man has been in office for 14 days. He's President, not a magician that can make things happen instantaneously with a magic wand. Gitmo will take months to get solved, and Iraq won't be done and over with before the next 18 months are out, no matter how fast they try to shut operations down. Republicans are blocking the Stimulus Plan, in case you haven't noticed. I think you're either 12 years old, or a fucking idiot with a grudge, or a racist piece of shit. Which is it?
I think he is all of the above man, he even says the economy has gotten worst since President Obama has been in office, for only 14 days! and the reason the economy is still getting worst is a result of how bad bush made it,that's why even after he is out of office it's still declining, but i have faith in Obama i think they should stop expecting the guy to rub a lamb and tell his Genie to make everything perfect,he's not god, but i can tell he's trying, they should really give him a break.
Of course! I don't know if you saw that moron's page, but you could tell right away that he's one of these hillbilly fucking gun-waving rednecks that couldn't find a coherent sentence with two hands and a flashlight. I can't help but get pissed-off by idiots of that magnitude. As you said, President Obama does not have a genie in a bottle, or a magic wand. It's going to take a very, very long time and an awful lot of work to fix the problems Bush created. Thanks for being rational, my friend!
lol i won't even take a look at his page someone like that is not even worth the time, I'm just praying that President Obama will make a change were going to need a miracle but god is not sleeping
@TheDougass Obama hasn't "enacted or expanded" any of Bush's policies. He has modified the ones that were worth modifying, and he has rejected and invalidated many of the bad ones, like the ban on stem-cell research, for example. You're only 21 and a Ron Paul zombie, so you've got no business telling me what to do, buddy. You ought to know that Ron Paul is a joke, his policy pronouncements are completely laughable and out-of-place in today's America, and he's a space cadet generally speaking.
@armyveteran101st I am extremely disappointed with his performance thus far. One of the major focuses of the Obama campaign was that he would pull out of Iraq which he didn't do when he took office, he promised to close down Guantanamo Bay he didn't, he said he would repeal the "Patriot Act" he didn't and actually expanded on the authority in the bill to make it permanent, he said that the United States would no longer torture (advanced interrogation techniques) we still torture to this day---->
@armyveteran101st he advocated for transparency in government and I still have yet to see a significant change from the Bush years, he said he would begin to diminish the power of the executive branch by repealing Bush's executive orders, he failed to repeal such orders and now has the authority to ASSASSINATE anyone including American citizens, he's dramatically increased the drone bombings in Pakistan, expanded the bombings into Yemen, ------->
@armyveteran101st began an illegal war in Libya under a U.N. resolution in which we were assured that it was a "humanitarian" mission and it would be quick...A 100 DAYS LATER were still involved bombing universities and civilian infrastructure (wether accidental or intentional it has been done), and he promised to keep the public informed (I'm aware this falls under transparency) of any bill that benefits corporations ------------->
@armyveteran101st and how our tax dollars are being spent and promised this would be a "lobbyist free" administration and it isn't among so many other things. So I do not see a dramatic difference between Obama's and Bush's Administrations and in my opinion both are very poor Presidents. As for Ron Paul, yes I am an avid supporter of the majority of his policies and all I can say is to research him if you feel that way or ask me about his policies and I'll do my best to answer them for you.
@TheDougass I know all I need to know about Ron Paul, and I actually think that Obama has been a very effective, thoughtful, and level-headed President so far, (everything that Bush was not), so we're going to have to agree to disagree.
@BigWheelHawaii Really? I stand by my statement of two years ago, now more than ever. Would you care to have a conversation as to why I feel that way, or are you just all hat and no cattle?
An old friend from college is a Certified Public Accountant now and she told me over the SuperBowl that about 90% of her clients who identify themselves as being "Democrate" DON'T pay their Federal taxes and try to not pay ANY State Taxes. Is this an organized conspiracy or what? So why the HELL should any of us pay our taxes when the government just WASTES it all anyway? Hell Californians are getting an I.O.U. for their taxes! Fuck the government and their criminal Ponzi-Tax Scheme!$
I think Bush and Obama are two good, back-to-back presidents. Clinton was a schemer and, all the guys before him were "old guard" politicians. History will judge that the nation is not stupid, and did elect two good presidents. Bush renovated the 1930's security policies, and brought us back to security; Obama will renovate the 1930's financial system and bring us back to prosperity.
To put Bush Jr. at the same level with Clinton and Obama equates to the rape of all that is good. Bush sank our country in the most severe economic crisis since the Great Depression, started a completely unnecessary war of choice in Iraq, and committed crimes against the U.S. Constitution. He alienated almost all of our allies and earned us the world's enmity, was hostile to science, culture, and progress, and did his best to destroy and nullify the Bill of Rights. You've got to be kidding!
lol Letting 245 prisoners go is going to keep the American people "safer". Take the risk, Obama! Maybe Al-Qaeda will say, "Hey guys, we were wrong about America!"
Riiight. I understand his intentions, and I understand what's he trying to do... but that's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.
Haim Cohen, a former judge of the Supreme Court of Israel stated: "The bitter irony of fate decreed that the same biological and racist argument extended by the Nazis, and which inspired the inflammatory laws of Nuremberg, serve as the basis for the official definition of Jewishness in the bosom of the state of Israel" (quoted in Joseph Badi, Fundamental Laws of the State of Israel NY, 1960, P.156)
i like Bush, i thought he was a fair president. I understand, and accept that Obama is our new president, so i ask that we all act mature and support him. :) :) :)
OMG, Matt Lauer actually sounded like a reporter. Did his research and asked questions. Unlike most cable news "talking heads" who structure 5 minutes questions to appease their viewer base and to influence opinion according to "some agenda".
So even on superbowl sunday you gotta wear a suit...Bush always looked presidential but damn sure didn't act presidential and obviously didn't make him a great president....If Obama does right by the American ppl (hoping he does) does it really matter what he's wearing?
"We've had a dysfunctional political system for a while now." Yet he offers no change. The Constitution clearly lays out the houses relationship to the office of the presidency. If he doesn't have what done in three years? Fix an inherently broken system without making any actual policies change? This man is concerned with democracy while our constitutional republic is falling!
Obama is at HIS residence..getting ready to watch the Superbowl and hosting a party...this is what we need a REAL person going to work for us..not a shiny suit!
Good job Matt. Good interview, fair questions, honest answers. I think the other journlists need to be that good when they interview him. Steve Kroft at CBS did a good job too.
I love you Barack...casual shirt and all...you deserve a break, you have done more right things in ten days than the past administration in eight years.
in the british medical journal of october 2004, dr derek summerfield reported on a field study of gaza and the west bank. he wrote that, over the previous four years, two-thirds of the 621 children killed,at checkpoints, on the way to school, in their homes, died from small arms fire, directed in over half the cases to the head, neck and chest -the sniper`s wound. Clearly, soldiers are authorised to shoot to kill the children in situations of minimal or no threat.
put a tie and coat on, your the president of the united states. If your on national tv talking about our countries economic problems look professional.
You have a point there. It looks different from other past presidents having Obama dressed up all casual like that. I don't know if it is good or not, but I do agree that it's best to start off his term sticking to a traditional look. Policies though are a different matter.
So why don't you start enforcing the banks to abide by certain conditions, by first opening transparency and information on exactly where the first bailout money went, Mr. President.
4:41 -- Well, it's been 3 years and it's not done. So I'll expect you'll live up to that promise, Mr. Obama.

Which is it?
armyveteran101st 3 years ago
I think he is all of the above man, he even says the economy has gotten worst since President Obama has been in office, for only 14 days! and the reason the economy is still getting worst is a result of how bad bush made it,that's why even after he is out of office it's still declining, but i have faith in Obama i think they should stop expecting the guy to rub a lamb and tell his Genie to make everything perfect,he's not god, but i can tell he's trying, they should really give him a break.
TupacNasbigem 3 years ago

@armyveteran101st LOL how does enacting/expanding George Bush's policies doing good for this country?? Get YOUR head out of YOUR ass
TheDougass 6 months ago
@TheDougass Obama hasn't "enacted or expanded" any of Bush's policies. He has modified the ones that were worth modifying, and he has rejected and invalidated many of the bad ones, like the ban on stem-cell research, for example. You're only 21 and a Ron Paul zombie, so you've got no business telling me what to do, buddy. You ought to know that Ron Paul is a joke, his policy pronouncements are completely laughable and out-of-place in today's America, and he's a space cadet generally speaking.
armyveteran101st 6 months ago
@armyveteran101st I am extremely disappointed with his performance thus far. One of the major focuses of the Obama campaign was that he would pull out of Iraq which he didn't do when he took office, he promised to close down Guantanamo Bay he didn't, he said he would repeal the "Patriot Act" he didn't and actually expanded on the authority in the bill to make it permanent, he said that the United States would no longer torture (advanced interrogation techniques) we still torture to this day---->
TheDougass 6 months ago
@armyveteran101st he advocated for transparency in government and I still have yet to see a significant change from the Bush years, he said he would begin to diminish the power of the executive branch by repealing Bush's executive orders, he failed to repeal such orders and now has the authority to ASSASSINATE anyone including American citizens, he's dramatically increased the drone bombings in Pakistan, expanded the bombings into Yemen, ------->
TheDougass 6 months ago
@armyveteran101st began an illegal war in Libya under a U.N. resolution in which we were assured that it was a "humanitarian" mission and it would be quick...A 100 DAYS LATER were still involved bombing universities and civilian infrastructure (wether accidental or intentional it has been done), and he promised to keep the public informed (I'm aware this falls under transparency) of any bill that benefits corporations ------------->
TheDougass 6 months ago
@armyveteran101st and how our tax dollars are being spent and promised this would be a "lobbyist free" administration and it isn't among so many other things. So I do not see a dramatic difference between Obama's and Bush's Administrations and in my opinion both are very poor Presidents. As for Ron Paul, yes I am an avid supporter of the majority of his policies and all I can say is to research him if you feel that way or ask me about his policies and I'll do my best to answer them for you.
TheDougass 6 months ago
@TheDougass I know all I need to know about Ron Paul, and I actually think that Obama has been a very effective, thoughtful, and level-headed President so far, (everything that Bush was not), so we're going to have to agree to disagree.

Bush renovated the 1930's security policies, and brought us back to security; Obama will renovate the 1930's financial system and bring us back to prosperity.
stacylaw 3 years ago

OMG, Matt Lauer actually sounded like a reporter. Did his research and asked questions. Unlike most cable news "talking heads" who structure 5 minutes questions to appease their viewer base and to influence opinion according to "some agenda".
Nice work Mr. Lauer.

So even on superbowl sunday you gotta wear a suit...Bush always looked presidential but damn sure didn't act presidential and obviously didn't make him a great president....If Obama does right by the American ppl (hoping he does) does it really matter what he's wearing?

hes a nood

No one was more casual than President Bush. A suit does not make a scholar.
I have never seen such craziness. I guess it's eleven or twelve days now. The abnormal fear is unreal and scary. Calm down!

Matt and obama.....sounds more like a liberal tea party.

Good job Matt. Good interview, fair questions, honest answers. I think the other journlists need to be that good when they interview him. Steve Kroft at CBS did a good job too.

in the british medical journal of october 2004, dr derek summerfield reported on a field study of gaza and the west bank. he wrote that, over the previous four years, two-thirds of the 621 children killed,at checkpoints, on the way to school, in their homes, died from small arms fire, directed in over half the cases to the head, neck and chest -the sniper`s wound. Clearly, soldiers are authorised to shoot to kill the children in situations of minimal or no threat.

put a tie and coat on, your the president of the united states. If your on national tv talking about our countries economic problems look professional.
JeremyStacy6 3 years ago
You have a point there. It looks different from other past presidents having Obama dressed up all casual like that. I don't know if it is good or not, but I do agree that it's best to start off his term sticking to a traditional look. Policies though are a different matter.

this aired live hours before the superbowl, he was taking a small break to watch the game with his family, friends, and guests. The mood was relaxed.
