  • Now that's jut freaking awesome! That's my favorite Velvet Underground song and my favorite band!

  • what in gods name is he wearing?

  • Conor looks like a little kid in awe <3

  • Jesus. How uncomfortable having to play in front of Lou Reed who is staring you down the whole time. Come on old man, give the guy a break!

  • Fuck for such poor recording and I can't really hear Conor. Man.

  • i bet half of you dont know which band originally did this

  • @Zebztheshit2 Haha, don't be so negative about it. I'm one who knows who did this well. What are you saying about Bright Eyes fans though they're ignorant?!?!? I don't stand for that.

  • @BenUriyahMay well sounds to me like you're part of a small demographic who knows their shit

  • @Zebztheshit2 Oh I do an I look forward to the day they release a really cool box set of lp's or cd's. Unfortunately I worry I'll grow tired of them before that. I can't listen to anything else now. I wish I could but I've been listening to them exclusively for months.

  • @Zebztheshit2 Fucking Velvet Underground, jesus hot shot over here. ha ha. I bet half of you don't know who originally did this, blah blah blah, gonna blow my own horn. Jackass.

  • Conor and Lou!?

    gahh XD

  • I was at this show in the I think the third row! Awesome. I'm glad you posted this.

  • @RealTofuPanda - welcome....i had to hide taping this

  • who killed sgt pepper?

  • and of course the whole experience. Lime Tree....and just awesomenesssssssss

  • duuuude.

just the title made me pumped up. I mean, Conor Oberst ANDDDD Lou Reed?

    duuuuuuuude.

    that's all I gotta say.

  • @BurntByTheMoon44 dude r u ghey

  • @Zebztheshit2 well I'm a girl...so...no?

  • @BurntByTheMoon44 ohh ok. well, if u were you would be

  • Where can I get the mp3s from this gig??

  • Conor and Lou.... Jesus... this is better then sex.

  • ah yah!

  • Fark! I barely have a clue who Bright Eyes are; think my friend loves them basically because she thinks the singer's hot....I'm 18 but I don't listen to any of this modern shit... I love watching Lou team up with younger bands (recently watched his performance with the Raconteurs too - I do like Jack White); you can tell he's really having fun and he looks at them with such affection. Love you Lou!

  • i think for modern shit, conor (from bright eyes) really is on his own path, his music is unbelevable when it comes to lyrics, i think that even though there music is different, conor has a very similar musical history, his early music was very personal and unique not unlike the velvet underground. i think you should check out his lyrics.

  • this is like a dream! i would have given anything to be there

  • i was like, fuck it, im paying 4 a good seat, and it paid off. For this song, and hot knives...i was leaning on the stage.

    amazing.!

  • PortugaltheAccount has managed to argue with most of the comments on here, can you even hear the music over the sound of your keyboard?

Just sit back and listen to the tunes, that is why everyone else comes to watch the video. Not to argue with people (over the internet for that matter) about what pleases their ears.

    Rock on Lou.

    To everyone esle keep rockin'!

  • that was one of the most amazing things i have ever seen

  • i like drinking pickle juice to his music

  • I would have loved to have seen this in person. That's the most amazing pairing ever. God I love Lou Reed!

  • because it rocks the shit out of the stage

  • lou's arms have seen more needles then a sewing machine. mad props conor

  • Just....Wow

  • Man...

I don't think there's anywhere i'd rather be than in that room at that moment.

  • tell me about it! I would like cut off a limb to see this live!

  • whoa people are hardcore. Dylan is an amazing songwritter, so is Conor. I think you need to go over the music more...these songwritters have so much room for interpretation and sometimes a song is just a song, why hate

  • AHH i was at this show... AMAZING!!

  • lol

  • how nervous must he be having lou reed stare at him while he sings a velvet underground song. he nailed it regardless (Y)

  • why is there always talk about the "best lyricist ever" if you like dylan you will prolly enjoy conor, u can compare all you want or you can enjoy one or both if you know whats good for you. and emo? sure conor has some dark lyrics but that does make him emo? what the freak is emo anyway, does anyone care if a kid likes black cloths and nail polish, big deal, thats there own choice, how does that effect the greatness of bright eyes? or any sinlge person on earth for that matter.

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha, Conor looks like a little kid in a toy store. Like inside his head he probably just keeps thinking "Oh my God Oh my God Oh my God Oh my God It's Lou FUCKIN Reed!!!"

    What a cool video

  • I srsly cannot believe what i'm seeing.

    Fucking bright eyes.

Lou, why would you do this?!

    WHYYYY!!!!!!

    WITH THE EMO-EST OF WRITERS!

  • emo, short for emotional is what music should be, music needs emotion you fucking idiot. listen to some of his lyrics

  • do you know nothing of bright eyes except for what you've heard dumbasses say? i love lou reed but bottom line is that conor oberst is the best lyricist i've heard in my life. on the level of bob dylan, morissey... anyone. and he is a DAMN FINE musician to go along with it. why bother, you obvioulsy know nothing of what you speak.

  • did you srsly just compare Conor to Dylan and Morrisey?

I'm not even gonna touch that.

There are plenty of reasons why that is false.

    Emo music is stupid.

Excuse me branding music, which i hate doing.

But i cannot stand Conor, his lyrics suck and he is famous because people think he going to be the next dylan.

Which is exactly why i hate him.

When Conor writes a piece that sets a man free from prison, then come talk to me.

  • bright eyes are not emo..i despise emo i would describe bright eyes as indie folk, folk rock and also there are some patterns of alt country but certainly not emo!!!!!

  • dylan wrote the song about a man in prisonn, it didnt set the dude free.....some black kids white parents did that

  • What are you talking about? Lou Reed wrote this song. Im positive.

  • ya that guy is confused as hell. hes thinking about rubin carter

  • your thinking of the hurrican man. rubin carter

  • Please. You don't know what you're talking about. If Bright Eyes are emo, so is Bob Dylan.

  • You're just...

no words for that kind of stupid reply. You won't change your mind because you don't understand anything about talent and music. Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Connor, Emmylou, they're all amazing. Who cares who's depressing or not. Johnny Cash is depressing too, was he emo??

  • So you have to have had an awful life to write good lyrics? Who cares of what happened in their lives, only the lyrics matter. And Bright Eyes's written beautiful, deep lyrics. A song like Landlocked Blues is just a perfect song, I think you just don't know Bright Eyes well enough. Stop talking now, please.

  • It's honest. Listen to the good songs. Landlocked Blues, Messenger's Bird, Amy in the White Coat, No One Would Riot for Less, Something Vague, The Center of the World, We Are Nowhere and it's Now, Train Under Water, .... How can you say those songs are fake?

  • Maybe you are right.

I can give Bright Eyes another chance maybe

    ;]

  • yep thats why people like him, because of "[the] beauty of his face]". Isn't that what makes a singer/songwriter good? Because you can really see his face when listening to one of his records.

  • well. if voice is a concern to you then why do you like lou reed? in velvet underground almost nothing was intune let alone the voice. and i think i speak for alot of fans when i say that what he looks like means nothing. his passion and lyrics are the "selling points"

  • @ndodsonbe nah I reckon the worse the life the better the artist. Every time there is a depression that's when all the good stuff is created!

  • contrast and compare we are all humans.

  • So true, buddy.

  • lou reed will perform with about anyone these days....just the truth. oh... and conor oberst is the greatest artist of the 21st century (thus far)

  • thank you

  • as a huge lou reed fan, i must say, without regret, conor oberst could share a stage with ANYONE. period. he is easily one of the greates singer/songwriters in history and he's only 27.

  • he definitely holds his own here...

  • hahah conor looks soo nervous before comming in, looks like hes counting time before knowing when to come in.

  • Really, really, really good. And even better than when the same one Lou played together with David Bowie. Pity that the sound quality is not the best...

  • holy shit this is awesome as hell

  • This is pretty cool, but I see a dichotomy with the guy from Bright Eyes jamming it out, whereas veteran Lou has the discipline of a novelist. That was his thing, to write rock and roll albums that were comparable to great novels.

  • do you know nothing of bright eyes. lou is a great musician and a great writer period. you could not find a better lyrcist the conor. at all, anywhere, ever.

  • No better lyricist "anywhere, ever?"

I have two words for you: Bob Dylan.

  • Fucking awesome. Now all we need is Dylan and Conner. But perhaps the pure awesomeness of that would make the stage implode.

  • Ha ha. I agree.

  • i agree as well.

  • oh shit, yes!

not only the stage, maybe the entire universe.

  • Can´t belive my eyes

  • anyone know what song this is?

  • nevermind i realized it, it was just hard to hear at first

  • "waiting for my man" velvet underground.

  • i was there!

  • YEAH! Fucking great! Lou Reed and Bright Eyes, what a gig!

  • i wanna see conor and booby d playin together !..thatll make me happy

  • This generation's musical legend paired with the coolest man alive. OMFG

  • I see Miss Lou still has the major arm buildup - thank god the mullet is gone.

  • miss?

  • A camp term of affection. Actually, back in the Sixties, a lot of people called Lou such thing as Miss Lulu Belle, evidently.

  • this is unreal. awesome video, good quality.

  • i was there :)

  • haha conor looks so happy. like its his dream come true!

  • haha it's great how lou keeps looking at conor as if he's teaching him how to perform, and he's keeping an eye on him.

  • Awesome

  • ah for gods sake. this is ridiculous.

its so perfect its taking the piss.

how am I supposed to have a sane reaction to this?

I reckon a smiley face and an exclamation mark should do the trick, eh?

    well... :D!

  • oh to have been there

  • Thanks so much for taking me to this show!

  • THIS is what it's ALL about, friends.

  • Man, I was just going to send you this link but you've seen it already 5 days ago. Guess we're on the same page.

  • Yes. And you have subsequently found out that I attended the final show and now you're pissed at me.

  • i wish I was there! my seats in ATL were this good! thx for the video!
