Heard this version before I heard the Allman Brothers original. I actually thought the Allman Brothers did a great cover of this song, the first time I heard their version. But the Danny Joe Browns' voice and the way they restrained the guitars through the first part then finally let them really cut loose make this my favorite version.

There are few songs where I think the cover is better than the original. Most of those involve Bob Dylan singing the original lol. This is the exception. Hatchet speeds this song up to the pace it should be and makes the Allman Brothers original seem like a bad 'lude trip.

I always loved this song but it has taken on it's true meaning since the passing of my Beautiful wife, Athena. (Aug. 30, 1959 to Nov. 2, 2009) I hope "Dreams I'll Never See" give strength to other guys who find themselves in my situation. True Love Never Dies and Soul Mates do continue on. Till death do us part but, that's only a temporary situation. Don't fear death ... fear falling short until then. - It's only a little while. Our Dreams will simply come true in Heaven, instead of here.
