this is a great freaking song, but you have to make your dreams come true, you have to be the miracle you are looking for, only you can make it happen for you.
that's awesome bro....danny joe was an awesome guy...even gave his heart to the Lord Jesus Christ before his passing. Was an honor to be able to see and know him at his peak. Check out the the Molly Hatchet cover of Free Bird, from their Double Trouble live album, I never thought any band would do Free Bird justice, but they do!
Heard this version before I heard the Allman Brothers original. I actually thought the Allman Brothers did a great cover of this song, the first time I heard their version. But the Danny Joe Browns' voice and the way they restrained the guitars through the first part then finally let them really cut loose make this my favorite version.
im three months old and I like this too. Also I don't appreciate what all the great artists who have died have left behind for us , their music. I don't feel like it's up to us to spread the music, i prefer to moan about it on the internet and bash another music genre.

@cindygibbsbarfield Sorry to hear that. I had a chance to the the Dead, in Red Rock,Just before Gerrys stroke, in 1985. Only other concert I wanted to see was the Oakland Homecoming show they used to put on.
She creeps back into my thoughts when I hear this. God, she was so long ago. But with the love I still have for both her and this song the pain and joy I feel when it plays will forever be worth it all.

There are few songs where I think the cover is better than the original. Most of those involve Bob Dylan singing the original lol. This is the exception. Hatchet speeds this song up to the pace it should be and makes the Allman Brothers original seem like a bad 'lude trip.
I always loved this song but it has taken on it's true meaning since the passing of my Beautiful wife, Athena. (Aug. 30, 1959 to Nov. 2, 2009) I hope "Dreams I'll Never See" give strength to other guys who find themselves in my situation. True Love Never Dies and Soul Mates do continue on. Till death do us part but, that's only a temporary situation. Don't fear death ... fear falling short until then. - It's only a little while. Our Dreams will simply come true in Heaven, instead of here.
Thanks. My heart just skipped a beat and my eyes just welled up, again. "Forever Friends" ya know? Toughest thing I ever endured, are the dreams I'll never see. - To see her again though, I'm counting on it. Peace!
Just saw your post and I sense your loss. Although we are strangers, I wish you peace, joy and fulfillment on your journey. Rely on your relationship with your creator to see you through. Let music and all other things inspire and connect you to meaningful things that enhance your life; live your life with no regrets. Dream, live and act on your passions. You will be reunited when your physical life's journey is over.
@alanvan1 Thank you, Alan. Your words mean more to me than I can express. I will always nurish the belief. Mindful and hopeful to walk again with my *Forever Friend* - Thanks for your kind words. Best wishes to you. Peace.
P.S. I thought "Dreams I'll Never See" was a great song when it first came out. Man, it just gets bigger ... for me. Have a Great Day, Buddy.
God bless man in keeping with the situation..... you have much of what the rest of us long for.. you know Love and most of us simply wish we knew it...... (-:
She knows as you do.... what it really means..... Gratitude for telling us.
@MarkNeyrinck - Mark, I think the one word people forget is, "Harmony." No matter what Disharmony the world around us inflicts, try harder to maintain the Emotional Harmony in yourself and with the one who shares their heart with you. We are not simply human beings experiencing a Spiritual experience when we feel inspired rather, we are spitutual beings experiencing a temporary human experience. Love, is eternal. Happiness, is Heaven's Miracle. I very much appreciate what you told me. Thanks.

@lakotabob I'm sorry for your loss. Those passed on including my beloved Dad liked this band. God bless. I loved this tune when I first saw these lads in Springfield, Mass. in 1979 when they tamed us Yanks along with the Outlaws that night.
@lakotabob Sorry about your wife Bob,Nothing I can say will console you.But I ask you do what I did not do.Only God can fill that void. All the sex, drugs and beer can NEVER fill that void.I am blessed with another wife but In his time he will bless you with another wife.He knows your pain and loss.God bless you Bob and pray you find another wife and love her like the first one.Peace Brother.
@Snoopy4406 I, too, tried to fill that void with all the wrong things. It took way too many years to discover that the gap I was trying to fill was a God shaped hole. And i discovered that He is not the cosmic killjoy that so many make Him out to be. Still rocking, and now having a truly good time now.
@TheSpeedknob Last week at 2;15AM snoop passed away due to liver cancer. He enjoyed chatting with people like you.Just thought you should know that.I came here cause I loved this tune and thought just by chance YT would have this song and happend to see the comments.Take care and God Bless.
Could you imagen in your mind, 1978, on a remote Lake in Canada where you could here a Moose piss a mile away. Off in a distents, you here this song being played from 5 miles . We got bitched out bad by the MNR the next day.
I played in a rock & roll band back in the late 70's. This was one my favorite tunes. My brother sang this song, but his voice wasn't close to Danny Joe Brown. He passed away in 1985 way before his time. This song reminds me of the good old days when we played on stage together.
You know I was on the way home from work one day and I heard this song on 101 the Bulldog out of Gainesville GA I gotta tell you they do not make this kind of music anymore. I really miss it. You know how sad things are when the rock station makes a big deal out of Guns and Roses Chinese Democracy.
Saw these guys in "80". My ears rang for three days afterwards. And, I still see Dave Hlubik's red sunburst Gibson! Old rock never dies, it just gets better!
Road trip anyone?...oh yeah...reminds me of my 79...Trans-Am motoring..doobie burning...old lady riding shotgun tooling down the backroads of Southern Indiana...where did it all go? Oh well, still got the memories!
WOW what a great walk down memory lane with a tune thet meant so much to me years ago...and now again, its not only in favorites but on my laptop icon!!! THANKSOMUCH! Dave
a MASTERPEICE OF ART THROUGH WELL THOUGHT OUT THEMES IN RELATION TO THIS BITCH OF A SONG THAT TEARS INTO THE SOUL OF A MAN THAT UNDERSTANDS TROUGH EXPERIEANCE.

This may be considered "classic rock" but, I LOVE getting old if this is classic!!
Thanks so much for posting! Reminds me of the "good old days!"

My neighbors are starting to complain because I crank the volume when I watch this! I love the Allman Brothers but this version rocks!

Excellent! I'm impressed!
Mostly good intentions though.
Molly schooled this boy. I still wish it was like the old days though. The music was so much better.

This was hot in Canada we made sure every one could hear this song through two Marhsal amps
Out in the bush, blasting this turned up to 11 and that great smoke the yanks were so screwed up they just sat there.

Saw Danny Joe Brown live in 1981. It was killer watching him sing this live. Moments not easily forgotten. Thanks for the memory ride.
