  • omg this is soo smart !

  • can you do it on shorter more choppy hair? i need to have a perfectly smooth bun.

  • That's a very nice bun, but not quick enough to use on a wiggly 5 yr old. Anyway, I wanted to give you a tip. I noticed you brushing the knots out of your sister's hair at the beginning. If you start brushing at the bottom and work your way up, it's less painful. Start about an inch from the ends & brush downward as usual. When that's tangle-free, go up another inch & repeat. Keep moving up the hair like this until you're brushing from the crown to the ends. Voila! Pain-free knot removal. ;)

  • cute

  • I do this for ballet and when i spin, i have to spot. If you are spinning and ur bun comes out, next time, try using a hairnet. thats what my friend nd i use and it keeps your hair in place and catches the hair.

  • Really helped a lot! Best video I have seen

  • no not that i know of

  • @cheerforcms as long as it can fit over the sock

  • omg when u moved the camera it sounded like a chicken!!!

  • LOL yu're right xDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • your sister has awesome hair but no offense, she's kinda wierd

  • does she do ice skating ?

  • at 5:00 i heard u said to ur sister "Oh shut up,Einstein"...It's so funny when it's in fast motion!!

  • ya reaallly funny!

  • Nice! Just a little tip for you. When rolling the sock you should add a knee high similar to the colour of your hair. Therefore you will not see the white from the colour of your sock. Also it will eliminate dryness as well. Roll the sock with the knee high underneath and roll it inside out so you end up with the knee high on the outside of course. ;)

  • So thats how u do it !!!!!! I always c air hostess with big buns like that n always wonder how they do it !!!

  • i figured skated for 5 years..it was my life...i quit last year..:[

  • Cool tutorial!

But... that sock is so ugly!

  • ..nd has a hole in it... nd lookz dirty

  • I tried this, it works great! i used a thinner sock and although my hair is thick, it worked better for me. after i wrapped all the excess hair around and secured with bobby pins I put a bun cover over top, and it looked really neat and tidy. thanks for the video!

  • you should take that sock and stick it in your sister mouth =]

    lol no im jk

but yeah thats a reallyyy cool idea

    im definitely ganna try it

  • i know how to do the perfect bun because 300 days outt of the year i have a bun in my hair

  • so instead of the sock we could use a doughnut bun

  • When I seen the sock, I seriously thought you were insane. Just because I could of never thought of this. Thanks for the tip!

  • i tried this and it worked i loved it the only thing was i braided the extra hair and then wrapped it around instead on the taking strands .

and my mom came up with the idea of useing two baby sox and doing the buns smaller with the braid again wrapped around . maybe you could try that one two

  • thanks for the info, and thanks for the vid response :)

I have tried that too, but I can't seem to do it with layered hair :(

  • u should use a smaller sock on her

  • haha no her hair was way too long here

  • Wickedd, I love this hairstyle!! I'm gunna wear it for school todayy lol (:

  • This video is really cool great job, but there are actually these things that they sell now that are foam donuts that you can also put on to make your bun if anyone is interested.

  • Both of you look so cute ! :] and its cool that you stake ^^ i hope i can stake too ...

  • nice idea

  • that is a very interesting way to do a bun:] i will try this next time i have a competition... not sure it will hold when i do a jump though because i guess you dont wrap the rubberband around or anything. but ill figure it out:]

  • It works really well during competitions, chimchar. :] Even while doing axels! :)) Especially through those tough spins. Like, the backscratch and layback. :D

  • she said she looked like a rat

  • awesome job. im gonna try this for my gymnastics comp.

  • wow! :) i luv it! :)

umm if i do like a jump, are u sure the bun won't like go down or get ruined?

  • Awesome! I'm so happy :-) Sure, I was thinking about some other ones to do.

  • how wud i do it if i have SHORT hair?

    same process?

  • smaller sock

  • haha no her hair was way too long here

  • ur sis is soooooo cute n active :)

  • You're a horrible person, insulting little kids. And what I meant is there is a problem with YOU.

    and thats MY sister.

    kthxbye.

  • Your sister was adorable! :) "I'm ready for my close up!" lol hilarious! You did a great job and great music choice! :) Anyway thanks for the tutorial! I will be using this today!

  • Thanks! Yaay! I hope it goes well :-)

  • i have those pants!

  • does it work for layered hair??

  • Yes, as long as the longest layer can be tied around the sock. So probably super-short layers wouldn't work.

  • i luv ur sisters hair!!!!!!!it looks so soft and smooth even though its thick and u did a super good demonstration!!!!!!

  • Aww thank you!

  • its ok! it was true afterall!: )

  • don't use bobby pins they FALL out on the ice!

  • umm no they don't

  • yes they do!

  • so i just showed my mom this video and she really like the idea! its so cool! my next big competition is in a week and i think i want to try it insetad of using the hairagami.. but i have one question, are you sure it doesnt fall out during axels and stuff? im a bit nervous about that

  • hmm, well we've never done axels with it but maybe you could test it at a practice?

  • what is your problem?

  • nice voice wile doing socks!

  • my mom uses a sock to do a bun. lol!

  • thank you so much! that helped me with ballet class. plus i was in the nutcracker, that helped so much!

  • hmmm this bun is soo cool. Can you do it for people with short hair?

  • depending on how short your hair is my skating team does the sock thing but instead of twisting the hair we put hair nets over the top and then a scrunchie that matches our outfits....dont know if that helps any?

  • So lovely......

  • oh my gosh that is so creative and cool! when you first said sock i though maybe that was some weird word for a bun cover... but then you took out an actual sock and i was like what? lol that's SO cool i wanna try that for my ballet class but i only have knee-high socks, so that wont work too well... lol

  • Girl, all my friends have been doing that for years. And its much easier when your hair is not that long because then you won't have as much hair leaking out. That's called a donut bun. And if your iffy about using a sock, they have bun makers at any beauty supply store.

  • seriously? then i must be living under a rock or something because i have never ever seen that before! lol i always wondered how people did that hair style. But it doesnt matter cus my hair is pretty long so i guess it wouldn't work anyways :(

  • Yes, it would work! I did it

  • Ummm, that's kinda the point. To not have to go out and buy anything. And I'm not gonna cut my hair just so making a bun can be easier.

  • wow im gonna try it i shall comment back on how i get on lol BTW amazing idea (Y)

  • you can buy things called donuts that do exact same thing a the sock and is more hygenic than a soc plus the bobby pins can stick into it!!

  • ok, but its clean as long as you use a washed or new sock! Plus this is cheap to do.

    sox rok my sox :p

    thanks for the comment

  • You do her hair well but I tried alot but it didn't work when I but the rubber band on the bun

  • wow sucha great ideaa=D does the bobby pined part ever fall out during jumps?

  • thanks! no it stays pretty well ;-)
